In cloud computing, while sharing the data, security and privacy are the major challenges. Moreover, networking issues are the hot topics for researchers. To maintain the security, users as well as a service provider have to keep some security parameters in mind, like security goals, (confidentiality, Integrity and availability), policies, resource constraints. To achieve security goals by following security policies, this framework is proposed. In (USRAF) Users' Security Requirements Architectural Framework the workflow of users security approach is elaborated.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123777477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Micro-blogging offered by such outlets allows people to publish, share and discuss short messages on the web. In academic institutions, micro-blogging offers a backchannel forum during live classes. It is popular among group of friends and professional colleagues who can also update content and follow each other's post, creating a sense of online learning forum. Latent use of social media and micro-blogging services in education, students and academicians embracing these technologies by sharing everything from personal to general interests and current events. Our Research motive is to embed social networking software into Learning Management System. As an initial step, we aim to analyze and compare micro-blogging behavior of different users in the academic institutions. Students experience, perceptions, attitudes and interactions may differ because online social sites are relatively new in the academic research. The result shows their posting behaviors, activities and perceived benefits. Result and findings helped us to build a user model and got an initial understanding of how students and faculties are likely to use micro-blogging in and out of academic institution.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125468398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This enables the Internet of Things (IoT) era to emerge. The amount of information generated by IoT applications can overpower computer infrastructures which are not prepared for such a huge data hence they need more CPU cycles. Distributed computing offers a solution at infrastructure level that eases such problems by offering highly scalable computing platforms. This necessitates arranging the framework on demand to meet invariant changes which applications require, in a pay-per-use mode. Current methodologies empowering IoT applications are area specific or concentrate just on communication between devices, therefore they can not be effectively deployed to different domains. To address this issue, in this paper, we present a data centric framework for advancement of IoT applications executed in python based cloud simulator. The framework handles association with information sources, information filtering and use of cloud resources including provisioning, load balancing, and planning thus enabling developers to concentrate on the application logic and encouraging the advancement of loT applications.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132510276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our algorithm plays an important role in distributing the incoming load in an efficient manner so that it maximizes resource utilization in a cloud environment. Further, load balancer plays an important role in cloud environment by assigning incoming tasks to Virtual Machines (VM) intelligently. The main aim of the proposed DCBT is to reduce the total execution time of the tasks and thereby maximizing the resource utilization. Further, the proposed DCBT algorithm is analyzed using Cloud Sim simulator and also in customized distributed environment using python. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm gives better efficiency in both Cloud Sim and customized environments. The proposed DCBT utilizes the Virtual Machines more efficiently while reducing the execution time of the tasks allocated to Request Handlers (RH) by 9.972% in comparison to the Modified Throttled algorithm.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130579535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Typically, organizations have limited infrastructure with which they create a private cloud. If the number of user requests go beyond those that can be supported by the limited infrastructure, new user requests are denied. In order to overcome this situation, in this paper, we suggest building a cost aware flexible cloud. We integrate the organization's private cloud with a public cloud. For new requests that need to be hosted on the public cloud, the organization pays rental costs. When the number of requests at the organization goes below a certain threshold, some instances already migrated to the public cloud can be migrated back to the private cloud for reducing the rental costs. We provide solutions to both these issues and have demonstrated an implementation over the open-source Open Stack framework.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133304793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further on, our everyday environments (personal, professional and social) are also technologically equipped to be smarter in their operations and outputs. That is, scores of smarter homes, hospitals, hotels, etc. Are being systematically realized with the adoption and adaption of the promising and powerful digitization and edge technologies, sophisticated applications, connected devices, reflective middleware solutions, integrated IT platforms and state-of-the-art IT infrastructures. On the users' side, there are new slim and sleek, handy and trendy digital assistants, wearables, smartphones, point of sales (PoS), tablets, etc. Fast emerging and evolving. The brewing trend is that these new-generation devices are being increasingly leveraged to access, use and operate the emerging IT and other everyday environments and the resources within remotely on the go. The challenge is how to enable the ubiquitous and unambiguous operation of those different and distributed resources using these pervasive devices and on the other side, how notifications and other useful information from any server-side resources can be pushed to those authorized devices in order to enable the device users to contemplate the next and best course of actions in time with all the clarity and confidence. In this paper, we have described a viable and standards-centric solution along with a pilot implementation details.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"56 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120921212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wagle","doi":"10.1109/CCEM.2015.25","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/CCEM.2015.25","url":null,"abstract":"Cloud brokering facilitates Cloud Service Users (CSUs) to find cloud services according to their requirements. In the current practice, Cloud Service Broker (CSB) selects the cloud services from multi-cloud environment according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) offered by Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). Difficulty in selecting cloud services from multiple CSPs is, there is no guarantee that CSPs deliver cloud services according to SLA offer. In our observation, it is found that most of the CSPs do not fulfill the service commitment mentioned in SLA agreement. It is necessary to be ensured that CSPs are delivering cloud services according to SLA commitment before recommending the cloud services to the CSUs. In this work, we propose a selection method to the CSUs considering both SLA commitment and service delivery by CSPs. As CSUs' requirements are independent to each other and different like minimum Cost for services, high Availability, high Performance, high Security etc., there is not a single optimum solution and there is not a single objective. To provide the best cloud services according to CSUs' requirements, we propose Pareto solutions that consider multiple criteria to provide the optimum set of solutions to the CSUs from multiple CSPs.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"3 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131958369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though the benefits of cloud computing is very appealing, the level of cloud adoption is still low among SMEs. This research aims to identify the key enablers, barriers and other factors that influence cloud adoption among SMEs in Tamil Nadu by conducting empirical investigations. We have used TOE framework to identify and capture the factors that affect technology adoption. We highlight cost benefits of using cloud infrastructure, scalability and agility of cloud services as the key enablers of cloud adoption. Broadband availability, high bandwidth cost and vendor lock-in are the main barrier for cloud adoption. Compatibility to existing system, complexity of the migration process, top management support, government policies and competitor pressure are the major organizational factors affecting cloud adoption among SMEs in Tamil Nadu. This study is part of a larger study which aims to develop a cloud migration decision support system (CMDSS) for SMEs in Tamil Nadu.","PeriodicalId":339923,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125149116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
