For this purpose, the article will consist of three parts. The first part will deal with the problem of totalitarianism as reflected in The Origins of Totalitarianism. The second part will deal with Arendt’s philosophical proposal of democracy as political action against totalitarianism as its enemy. It argues that freedom and constitution are the basis of people’s political action in public space for the sake of nation and community. The third part will deal with the problem of human rights and Arendt’s proposal of political natality. According to the principle of natality, people as subjects of politics are capable to find their own ways to preserve their own life. Human transcendence is actualized in time frame. As conclusion, the paper will discuss the contribution of Arendt’s thoughts of people’s transcendence and its implications in facing the mob-rule.Key Words: constitutionalism, democracy, freedom, Hannah Arendt, revolution, totalitarianism","PeriodicalId":338978,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ledalero","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132984623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First of all, it tackles theconcept of synodality briefly and then elaborate on the various aspects of synodality. By using the method of content analysis and literature study, the author - in the light of Pope Francis’ discourse - seeks to provide somecritical notes on what the spirit and practice of synodality does means and does not mean. The novelty of this article lies in its attempt to see the relevance of the discourse for the Indonesian context. The author argues that the themes of clericalism, democratization in the Church, the development of civil society based on justice and brotherhood, dialogue between religions are relevant for our context. The author concludes that a correct understanding of synodality as a constitutive dimension of the Church must be possessed by all the faithful because it greatly determines the existence and the life of the Church as well as Her mission in the world. This right is formally enshrined in international human rights instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Indonesia has also adopted these international human rights instruments in its policies and implementation in the applicable laws as seen in the inclusion of this right in the 1945 Constitution, Law no. 39 of 1999 and Law no. 12 of 2005. However, in practice, this right is often violated by the state and civil society either by action (commission) or by omission. This study also shows religious intolerance, radicalism, and fundamentalism are the manifestations of real challenges in promoting unity in diversity in the country. Therefore, this study recommends the Indonesian government to: review some its policies that are contrary to international and national human rights instruments; cancel lower legal products that are contrary to the 1945 Constitution and other laws; take legal action to suppress and prevent radical and intolerant groups from carrying out violence, discrimination and persecution against certain religious minorities; restore the rights of groups or individuals that have been violated in relation to the freedom to practice or adhere to their respective religions; and improve religious tolerance and moderation education in formal and non-formal educational institutions.Keywords: kebebasan beragama; hak asasi manusia; instrumen HAM; intoleransi; toleransi; kekerasan; moderasi beragama.","PeriodicalId":338978,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ledalero","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132782404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, many studies have been conducted on the circular economy, which is seen to be an alternate form of economic activity that benefits the underprivileged and the natural environment. However, it appears that the ethical implications of this circular economy have gotten limited attention. Christian ethics, especially the Catholic Social Teachings, provides a source of inspiration for the sustainable development of economic thought. The data analysis method used in this study was bibliometric analytical procedures, which involved collecting articles from Scopus, Google Scholar, and CrossRef databases. VOSviewer software was used to map keywords from these papers in order to identify research gaps in the region to be investigated. In addition, a qualitative analysis of the selected papers using the Atlas.ti program version 9 highlights the quantitative findings and delves deeper into the research themes. This article presents a discussion that the logic of understanding is different from the logic of explanation. If in scientific explanation, law and scientific theory are regarded as the premises, all human understanding departs from the historical experience of the world which belongs to the community. In a phenomenological perspective, human understanding is rational because it is oriented toward convergence without coincidence, unification without equivalence, commonality without identity, and cooperation without uniformity. The Study of the musical experiences of East Nusa Tenggara shows that the people of East Nusa Tenggara have a transverse rationality, in a sense that is convergent with the health protocol, although is based on the mythical cosmology.
