Confidence in its ability to provide adequate authentication is, however, waning. This is largely due to the wrongful use of passwords by many users. In this paper, the design and development of keystroke pressure-based typing biometrics for individual user's verification which based on the analysis of habitual typing of individuals is discussed. The paper examines the use of maximum pressure exerted on the keyboard and time latency between keystrokes as features to create typing patterns for individual users. Combining both an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) are adopted as classifiers to verify the authorized and unauthorized users based on extracted features of typing biometric. The effectiveness of the proposed system is evaluated based upon False Reject Rate (FRR) and False Accept Rate (FAR). The device intended to assist the blind during walking on a sidewalk. Many of the blind people used the traditional method like dog and old design of walking stick as their guide to walk on the sidewalk. The limitation of this method is the blind people must walk closely to the border of the sidewalk and use the walking stick to find out their current location. This will be exposing the blind to the risk like fallout from the sidewalk. The application of RFID will enhance the conventional method in term of detecting and estimating the distance between the blind and the sidewalk border. The project objective is to develop a walking stick prototype by utilizing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). A review of assistive technology was presented in this paper together with RFID application in China, France and Thailand. This paper also describes a RFID function and its components explicitly a tag, reader and middleware include a relevant frequency for RFID. The experimental works intended in this project will cover antenna polarization, tag performance, tag orientation sensitivity and tag communication distance for ultra high frequency (UHF). WMNs consist of end clients and mesh routers, communicate wirelessly in a multi-hop fashion. The commonly used routing protocols depend on the hop-count metric to determine the preferred route between source and destination. Due to the unpredictable behavior of the wireless medium, the need for a routing protocol that aware to the medium condition becomes a necessity. In this paper we propose a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) as a metric to determine the optimum route between source and destination. Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR) is selected for the new metric. A comparison has been made between the conventional hop-count metric and SNR for the OLSR routing protocol. The network throughput, End-to-End delay and routing protocol overhead are used as a performance metrics for the comparison. However, their accuracy is severely subjected to motion artifact and environmental noise. In this paper, we aim to evaluate empirically the effectiveness of adaptive filters in motion artifact cancellation for finger pulse oximeters. Our experiments compared the Least Mean Square (LMS) adaptive filter and the Exponentially Weighted Least Square (EWLS) adaptive filter with the Minimum Correlation Discrete Saturation Transform (MCDST). The Apgar score is a rapid method to evaluate the physical condition of newborn infants at 1 and 5 minutes after birth, and may be repeated later if the score is and remains low. The cry of premature and mature infants with low and normal Apgar scores was analyzed using principle component analysis (PCA). Pre-processing of the voice or unvoiced segments of cry signals include zero rate crossing, short time energy and filtering. Through principle component analysis, the reduced dimension cry signal is investigated to extract features to be correlated with Apgar scores. In medicine, web databases on various diseases are valuable tools to facilitate the search for effective treatment. Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease that has received significant focus in research worldwide. Currently, medical professionals rely on foreign AD databases with no relevant biodiversity with Malaysian patients with different genetic elements. We present the development work of a web database to store genetic information of Malaysian AD patients based on biodiversity. The three-tier architecture was used, consisting of the client-side presentation logic, and server-side business logic and database. By appropriately connecting the input and output terminals, the proposed circuit can work as either a single-input multiple-output (SIMO) or a multiple-input single-output (MISO) filter without changing the circuit topology. When the circuit functions as a SIMO filter, it provides bandpass (BP), lowpass (LP) and bandstop (BS) voltage responses with grounded capacitors. When it functions as a MISO filter, the circuit can realize all the standard non-inverting and inverting second-order filter functions. The parameters ω0 and Q can be set orthogonally by adjusting the circuit components. For realizing all the filter responses, no critical matching condition is required, no inverting-type input signal is imposed and all the incremental parameter sensitivities are low.
