East Java is one of the provinces in Indonesia with a high case fatalitiy rate (1.34%). The raising of  Dengue Haemoragic Fever (DHF) in East Java has been influenced by climate, population density, human behavior, and environmental sanitation. This study aimed to compare robust regression research by using M estimation and  S estimation on the factors that affect IR DHF. This was done to get the best model regression on the data outlier based on the biggest R2 adjusted and the smallest MSE. This study utitlized observational research with a non-reactive research design using secondary data. The independent variable consisted of population density, healthy behavior, healthy living environment house, and precipitation in East Java in 2017. The dependent variable was incident rate of DHF in 2017. The population included 38 regencies in East Java, while the sample was 35 regencies/cities selected using simple random sampling. The analysis used robust regression on M estimation and S estimation weighting by Tukey’s Bisquare. Robust regression on S estimation was found to be the best robust regression on data outlier with R2 adjusted (0.996) and MSE (0.229). Robust regression on S estimation  was = 54.826 + 0.011 (population density) – 0.136 (% healthy behavior) - 0,404 (% healthy house ) - 0,005 (precipitation).Some factors that affect IR DHF can be the main focus for the prevention and control of DHF for the government and society.  Keywords: robust regression, outlier, estimation, estimation, DHF","PeriodicalId":33636,"journal":{"name":"The Indonesian Journal of Public Health","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41543729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trend of the neonatal mortality rate in Indonesia has decreased from 15 (2017) to 13 deaths per 1,000 live births (2018), but this does not meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target. Evidence-based health interventions are based on determinants that most influences neonatal mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the most influential determinants of neonatal mortality in Indonesia. This research is an analytic observational study that uses the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) data, with a cross-sectional design. This study’s population was the last baby of married women of childbearing age (15-49 years) and was recorded in the 2017 IDHS with a sample of 15,102 babies. The outcome variable in this study was neonatal mortality. The analysis was conducted in stages, namely univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the chi-square statistical test (X2), and multivariate analysis using logistic regression. The results showed that 85.71% of deaths occurred in the early neonatal period. The most influential determinants of neonatal mortality were male sex (adj OR = 2.91: 95% CI 1.78-4.76), low birth weight (adj OR = 12.08: 95% CI 7.38-18.86) and parity status ≥ 4 (adj OR = 2.11: 95% CI 1.22-3.61). Public health interventions aimed at reducing neonatal mortality should be linked to newborn and maternal characteristics that significantly influence Indonesia's neonatal mortality. Therefore, health services must consider adequate postpartum neonatal care that is fully integrated with medical care. Moreover, further prevention of potential factors that cause low birth weight before conception should be implemented and further control of births would optimize the family planning program. Keywords: gender, low birth weight, parity status, determinant, neonatal mortality, Indonesia","PeriodicalId":33636,"journal":{"name":"The Indonesian Journal of Public Health","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49221722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In developing countries, only about 39% of mothers breastfeed exclusively. Indonesia has targetted for 80% exclusive breastfeeding. However, it has not been achieved. A large number of women in the workforce and the unavailability of breastfeeding facilities are among the factors influencing the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia. In addition, maternal knowledge is also a contributing factor for exclusive breastfeeding practices This study aims to analyze the relationship between the availability of lactation facilities and maternal knowledge with exclusive breastfeeding. The execution of this research was conducted quantitatively with the descriptive research type. The design of this study is case-control. The study’s population were female factory workers who had babies in Sidoarjo District. The sample size is 42 case samples and 42 control samples. The research sample was taken using a simple random sampling technique. The data was retrieved through survey methods with questionnaires. The results of the study show that there is no relationship between knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.200) and there is a relationship between the availability of lactation facilities and exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.049). Mothers who work in factories with lactation facilities have a 2.667 times greater opportunity to give exclusive breastfeeding to their babies than mothers without access to lactation facilities (OR = 2.667). Nowadays, one of the consequences of the rapid development of the manufacturing industry in Indonesia is related to work productivity. Each person's work productivity is not the same, one of them depends on the availability of nutrients in the body. Lack of nutritional consumption for someone from standard needs will affect health conditions, activities, and work productivity. Nutritional substances in workers also affect fitness in addition to other factors such as age, health status, nutritional status, nutritional status, gender, and psychological conditions. Based on the description above, it is necessary to study the relationship between nutritional status and physical fitness of workers in manufacturing companies in Indonesia. The study was cross sectional on 120 workers from 6 manufacturing companies in Indonesia which was conducted using cluster sampling. Assessment of individual characteristics was conducted by direct interview. Assessment of nutritional intake uses the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and the results were categorized as appropriate and inappropriate based on the 2019 nutritional adequacy figure for the Indonesian population. The fitness assessment (physical capacity) used a six-minute walking test by an occupational specialist and was converted to Meters and categorized with a cut off of 4.5 Mets to be sufficient or insufficient. About one third of manufacturing workers were centrally obese. Characteristics The dietary intake according to the recommendation were only about 10%, namely the appropriate carbohydrate intake 11.7% (Frequency 8.46 times (533.22 gr)), suitable fat 12.5% (Frequency 2.75 times (57.14 gr)), and suitable protein 10% (Frequency 6.55 times (101.77 gr)). The physical capacity of manufacturing workers in Indonesia was categorized as sufficient as much as 75.8% of their workload. Factors that affect physical capacity, namely age ≥ 40 years have 4.37 times less physical capacity and protein intake affected physical capacity / fitness for workers (p = 0.02). About a third of manufacturing workers were centrally obese. The characteristic of food intake in accordance with the recommended nutritional adequacy of the Indonesian population was only about 10%. Based on its toxic kinetics, aluminum has been demonstrated to be accumulated in the bone. The aim of this study is to find out whether by analyzing bone aluminum, we might have an overview of aluminum accumulation that might cause health problems in the future. This review was conducted through a method of search and selection of articles from Pubmed, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar databases aimed to answer question rising from the problem statement of this study. The process of searching articles used the keywords “occupational aluminum” OR “bone aluminum” AND “biological monitoring” OR “biomonitoring”. The selection of articles was performed using the defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Initially, 61 articles were obtained, but after the selection process and hand searching, four articles remained consisting of two case reports and two cross sectional studies. LBP can occur due to awkward body postures and manual handling during working and need intervention to reduce complaints. This study to know intervention to reduce risk at ergonomic can induce LBP. This study uses a quasi-experimental design using control with a sample of 35 in each group. The intervention program monitoring was carried out by the SHE team at the work site based on conducting weekly observations regarding workers doing awkward work postures and manual handling activities and ensuring that mechanical workers receive ergonomics training. After one year of the intervention program, the data collection was carried out using a questionnaire to find out the changes in the length of the squat position, bending position, and manual handling activities in both groups. Significant differences between the two groups were obtained in the long work category with squat posture with p-value <0,001, bent posture with p-value 0.001, and a non-significant difference were found in the manual handling category with a p-value of 0.614. The intervention program can change manual handling in the intervention group 3.6 times at work duration more than 1 hour in a squatting position and decrease in the length of bending position more 1 hour by 1.4 times compared to control. Keywords: ergonomic training, squatting position, bending position, manual handling. ","PeriodicalId":33636,"journal":{"name":"The Indonesian Journal of Public Health","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47071573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
