La complejidad de estos sistemas semi-automatizados de riego requiere de personal calificado para realizar las tareas de operacion y mantenimiento permanentemente. En otra area de la tecnologia, la inteligencia artificial promete desarrollar un nivel muy alto o quasi-autonomous en la automatizacion de procesos, independientemente de las posturas criticas escepticas o a favor sobre la posibilidad de que un sistema no biologico pueda desarrollar algun tipo de universalidad cognitiva [1], [2] podemos afirmar con certeza que la inteligencia artificial que conocemos hoy, aunque aun se encuentra en un nivel de desarrollo incipiente, ofrece una amplia gama de posibilidades que son relevantes para ser aplicadas en nuevos enfoques de la agricultura como el de agricultura de precision. Abstract The availability offered by a set of technologies such as Big Data, artificial intelligence, computer vision and cloud computing must be linked to the real world through IoT technologies and microdevices like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Therefore, farmers have achieved to find multiple solutions in their fields to irrigation issues, so they have been able to implement technologies based on computer systems. However, ornamental plants such as domestic flower-pots or even the ornamental pots in offices spaces, tend to appear such a different system from the large farms, but a closer examination reveals that we have the same elements of a complex ecosystem. As a result, as designers of autonomous plant pot we should face almost the same challenges of traditional farming. In this regard, it is frequent to find a wide variety of Arduino plant irrigation prototypes and most of them mainly focused on solving the problem of water irrigation through the implementation of the soil humidity sensor.
