Oleh karenanya, Indonesia menjadi negara yang memiliki berbagai macam kebudayaan, salah satunya adalah kebudayaan yang berbentuk wastra yang sering disebut dengan batik. Motif-motif batik yang ada banyak dipengaruhi oleh kebudayaan yang beragam dari setiap suku dan ras atau etnis yang mendiami Indonesia, salah satunya adalah etnis Tionghoa. Etnis Tionghoa memiliki satu hewan mitologi kepercayaan yang mendapat penghormatan tertinggi yaitu Liong atau Naga China. Karena kedudukannya yang tinggi ini, maka simbol Liong atau naga ini sering digunakan untuk melambangkan maharaja serta kaisar-kaisar Tionghoa. Selain itu, simbol Liong atau naga juga digunakan sebagai simbol pada bangunan-bangunan suci, salah satunya adalah klentheng. Klentheng merupakan tempat untuk beribadah bagi masyarakat Tionghoa yang beragama Konghucu karena simbol naga dipercaya dapat menjembatani antara dunia manusia dan Illahi, pelindung dan pengusir roh jahat. Ide untuk menciptakan sebuah karya dengan motif baru dengan menggunakan teknik batik tulis. Dalam proses penciptaan ini dilakukan secara metedologis melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu eksplorasi, perancangan, dan penciptaan karya. Hasil yang dicapai adalah terciptanya motif batik tulis dengan sumber ide Liong atau Naga China. Karya berjumlah 4 yang terwujud dalam busana casual wanita. Adapun nama motif batik yang diciptakan meliputi: Genthala Akzha, Genthala Thalassa, Genthala Sadana, dan Genthala Anila. Limbah anorganik juga dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi sesuatu yang bermanfaat pula, termasuk menambah pendapatan ekonomi jika dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Hal ini terkait dengan program pemerintah yang mengangkat isu lingkungan hidup sebagai target pembangunan yang berkelanjutan dan akan bersinergi dengan departemen lainnya. Pada artikel ini menggunakan metode analisis data dua hal yaitu catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Diharapkan dua metode ini dapat mengumpulkan data yang efektif, efisien dan tepat sasaran, sehingga tujuan artikel ini dapat tercapai yaitu kemampuan untuk mengelola sampah botol plastik, sampah logam, sampah kain, sisa detergent, limbah pabrik menjadi produk yang kreatif dan bernilai ekonomis. Tradisi ini menghasilkan sebuah kain tenun yang disebut lipa’ sabbe yang berarti sarung sutra. Eksistensi kain tenun lipa’ sabbe dalam masyakat suku Bugis di Kota Sengkang Kabupaten Wajo Sulawesi Selatan telah ditinjau melalui asal-usul kebudayaan menenun serta fungsi kain tenun lipa’ sabbe. Asal usul tradisi menenun dalam masyarakat suku Bugis menjelaskan teknologi alat tenun, bahan dasar dan teknik sederhana pembuatan lipa’ sabbe. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil observasi (pengamatan langsung), studi pustaka, dan wawancara, masyarakat di Kota Sengkang mengenal 3 alat tenun yaitu alat tenun walida/ gedogan, alat tenun bukan mesin dan alat tenun mesin. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan cara studi literatur, observasi dan wawancara secara langsung seperti tempat usaha, showroom mebel, gambar katalog, majalah, internet, dan perpustakaan. Proses perancangan produk dimulai dari penemuan ide/permasalahaan dilanjutkan dengan pencarian data dan menganalisi data dilanjut dengan penentuan konsep desain, sketsa desain alternatif sampai desain terpilih. Lokasi desa ini tidak terlalu jauh dari kampus ISI Yogyakarta dan pusat kecamatan, kurang lebih 3 km jarak dengan Kantor Kelurahan Timbulharjo. Tempat penyuluhan berada di jarak 5 km dari ISI Yogyakarta dengan lokasi penyuluhan.Masyarakat perajin di Dusun Kowen Kalurahan Timbulharjo masih minim dengan pengetahuan desain. Mayoritas perajin berusia 40 tahun keatas, yang sebenarnya memerlukan regenerasi dalam meneruskan pembuatan lincak. Adanya masyarakat berusia muda akan memberikan pengaruh terhadap perkembangan lincak di Dusun Kowen Timbulharjo.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuat inovasi desain kaki lincak pada perajin bambu dalam rangka peningkatan kualitas desain dan nilai jualnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi, pencarian ide, pembuatan desain, pembuatan produk, dan evaluasi. In dealing with this, the author took the initiative to design a desk to support this and give the impression that the office stays focused on doing work and can increase productivity at work, with a design that remains comfortable when used and still pays attention to ergonomic values. Using qualitative research techniques with data expressed in the form of words, sentences and pictures, (Sugiyono, 2006; Pratiwi, 2017) designing a minimalist home office desk form that uses a modern style and additional features as support. A product needs to be adapted to the user and the place where the product is placed. This desk product with a minimalist home office desk concept is intended for students, students, and workers. Wastra Cakra manggilingan is one of the Wastra in Jepara which has a message in it. Many people do not know the message contained in Wastra weaving in Troso Village. Visual Communication Design is the science of understanding a message in the form of visuals or images. However, to reveal the message contained in the Wastra Cakra manggilingan motif, the researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method with a semiotic theory approach belonging to Charles Morris. The visual form data of the Wastra Cakra manggilingan motif series were obtained based on oral interviews, and other bibliography. Then an analysis was carried out using semiotics which produced data in the form of a series of descriptive sentences. The results of the study resulted in the form of signs, meanings, and messages contained in the entire Wastra Cakra manggillingan motif.
