Regional image often has a strong local color. Compared with other poetic images, the regional image formed by a certain geographical space, it has a relatively fixed geographical location and writing group. The regional image is an aesthetic process from the objective \"representation\" to the objective combination of \"image\". Regional image is more obviously affected by the internal laws of regional objective literature. Bashu region is characterized by its dangerous terrain, long culture and inclusiveness, which has formed a typical \"regional image of Bashu\" in ancient Chinese poetry. It is a unique branch of Chinese culture with distinctive regional color and profound spiritual connotation. Since the Sui and Tang dynasties, there have been countless poems and works related to Bashu regional culture. Among these works, “The Sichuan Road”is most typical one. This paper adopts case analysis and comparison method, comparing the translation of regional images in Yang Xianyi's and Sun Dayu's English versions of “The Sichuan Road”, aims to explore the cultural connotation of the Bashu nationality and the correct restoration of the Bashu regional image. It is expected to provide a reference for the study of ethnic culture in Bashu region and provide a new perspective for the study of Tang poetry and other poetry works related to Bashu.","PeriodicalId":333300,"journal":{"name":"English Language, Literature & Culture","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126470835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An intact 42-student class of freshmen majoring in accounting is divided into four groups. Each group is assigned with a relay writing task with the first sentence available only. The sequential writer of each group writes while checking the previous single sentence. Each group accomplish the task by three steps: individually independent sentence relay writing, in-group text reading, adjusting and reshaping, and between-group text appreciation and evaluation. The composition process is audiotaped and all texts (including both the first and final drafts) are collected and analyzed. And a random interview is followed. The data showed that 1) the writing turned out to be more vivid and inspiring when the participants only know the first sentence and the final drafts appeared in a more logic way with less grammatical and lexical errors, indicating the powerful effect of dialogues between group writers; 2) it could be even more successful when there is a relay writing task as a pre-activity as each individual was assured to make contributions to this writing task no matter how passive or subservient he/she is when involved in a group task; 3) The collaborative writing could be more fulfilling when there were initiator-participants scaffolding the whole task. Furthermore, by observing the accuracy and fluency of the written texts, the pedagogical implications of simultaneous in-group and between-group interactions are illustrated.","PeriodicalId":333300,"journal":{"name":"English Language, Literature & Culture","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127879419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

No matter what type of animation, Disney animation is famous the all over the world for its imagination, exquisite painting and delicate stories. Disney animated films constantly reflect the changes and development of the times and the development of feminism. This study analyzes the self-growth of female characters in Disney animation from three aspects: patriarchal society, the influence of feminism and modern society, and discusses the changes in the outlook on marriage and life. In a patriarchal society, feminist consciousness was suppressed, and female growth was greatly constrained. After the awakening and development of feminism, women gradually awaken their consciousness, and feminist characters show a new path to growth through their own efforts. In modern society, feminism has further developed, and female characters in Disney animation have lived a more colorful life on the road to self-growth under the influence of feminism. At the same time, this study analyzes the changes for in female characters in Disney animation from the reason of feminism, political economy and consumerism.","PeriodicalId":333300,"journal":{"name":"English Language, Literature & Culture","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122541964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
