The genus includes three subgenera: Cuscuta , Monogyna and Grammica ; the last one is widely distributed in the American continent. In this work, flower morphology, meiotic studies and pollen viability of 4 natural populations of Cuscuta parodiana subgenus Grammica are presented. The flower morphology allow us to differentiate 4 morpho- types through corolla and gynoecium traits. Three entities analyzed were tetraploids (n = 30), and one was of them diploid (n = 15). Trivalent and tetravalent chromosomal configurations, chromatin bridges, chromosomes outside of metaphasic plate, cytomixis and extranuclear spherical bodies were observed during meiosis","PeriodicalId":33272,"journal":{"name":"Lilloa","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43106163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Benth, A. cytisoides Griseb . , A. inflexa Griseb., A. trijuga Gillies ex Hook. & Arn, A. schickendanzii Griseb. Samples were taken from fresh material and were processed according to conventional techniques for acetolyzed and non-acetolyzed pollen. Pictures were taken with an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope. These grains are isopolar, radi - ally symmetric, tricolporate, microreticulate and heterobrochate. In acetolyzed material they are of medium size, prolate to prolate-spheroidal. In non-acetolyzed material they are small, oblate spheroidal with wide colpi in the equatorial plane, and sharp ends. Only in the case of A. schickendanzii the non-acetolyzed grain is medium size, prolate, with narrow colpi (4-5 μm) in relation to other species, and the endoapertures are lolongate, but not as prominent as in the others. With scanning electron microscope the presence of smooth margin or with few microperforations in A. cordobensis, var. cordobensis, A. muricata var . dentata , A. cyti - soides y A. incana var . incana , A. cytisoides and A. incana is confirmed. In A. trijuga margin is densely microperforated, while A. inflexa lacks of margin and the irregular border of the colpi is observed. On the basis of the observations made, a key was developed to identify the species studied. The statistical analysis allowed to establish the differences that support their taxonomic classification.","PeriodicalId":33272,"journal":{"name":"Lilloa","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45711181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this research was to establish a protocol for micropropagation and acclimation of M. sergipensis plants. The experimental setting was a completely randomized design, with four treatments, 10 replicates and in each experimental unit an explant was introduced. Explants were obtained from medial sections of the stem of approximately 5 mm. The nutrient medium was ½ salts of MS supplemented with 30 g L -1 of sucrose, gelled with 7 g L -1 of agar and with the following concentrations of phytoregulators: 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) [0,0; 1,5; 3,0 and 6,0 mg L -1 ] and naphthalenoacetic acid (ANA) [0,0; 1,5; 3,0 and 6,0 mg L -1 ] and the BAP/ANA combinations [0,0; 1,0/0,5; 2,0/1,0 and 4,0/2,0 mg L -1 ]. The mean values of (shoots per explant, stem height and stem diameter) and percentage of calogenesis, rooting explants, survival of explants and shoots and weight of fresh matter were evaluated. Data were submitted to analysis of variance and means were compared by the Tukey test, 5% significance. There were no significant differences between treatments in relation to bud formation, callus, shoot and bud survival, stem height, stem diameter, and cracked weight. Nutritional supplementation with 1,0/0,5 BAP/ANA mg L -1 promoted a higher shoot formation. During the ex vitro phase, 70% of the normal shoots and 0,1% of the hyperhydric shoots survived.","PeriodicalId":33272,"journal":{"name":"Lilloa","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47813549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Soledad Bustos. 2017. “New records of Bacillariophyceae in lotic ecosystems of Argentine Northwest I”. Lilloa 54 (2). The orographic and climatic conditions of the Argentine Northwest allow the existence of numerous lotic ecosystems that harbor a great diversity in their biota. The Calimayo and Mista streams are part of the Sali river basin. In these systems the diatoms (Bacillariophyceae) constitute a very broad taxonomic group with a high specific richness. The objective of this work was to present 25 new diatom records for the Argentine Northwest among which 5 are cited for the first time for Tucuman, 7 for Argentina Northwest and 13 for the country. Seasonal samplings were carried out in both streams from 2012 to 2014, biotic data (epilithon and phytoplankton) and abiotic data were collected according to conventional methodologies. The dimensions, geographic distribution and ecological characteristics of the taxa cited for the first time for NOA and the country are detailed, and presented along with photographs of optical microscopy. The research and the diatomological surveys carried out at regional level increased the knowledge on the distribution and autoecology of the studied species.","PeriodicalId":33272,"journal":{"name":"Lilloa","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43776410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
