This framework is composed of the power and workload management, and capacity planning schemes. While an action of power and workload management is performed in a short-term basis (e.g., fraction of minute), a decision of capacity planning is made in a long-term basis (e.g., few months). This paper mainly addresses a capacity planning problem. With the power and workload management, we formulate a capacity planning optimization as a stochastic programming model. The solution is the number of servers to be installed/deployed in a data center over multiple periods. The objective of this optimization model is to minimize the long-term cost under workload demand uncertainty. However, content ranking and content popularities change during time. Therefore, the caches should be updated. In addition, the number of contents to be updated should be limited. In this research, we propose a method to update contents in caches of femto-cells in FemtoCaching. The proposed method has a complexity less than the contents placement algorithm of FemtoCaching. The performance of proposed method is evaluated by a simulation. Traditional Ad hop positioning (APS) distributed, hop by hoplocalization approaches, which work as an extension of distance vector routing in order to provide approximate position for all nodes in a network, are easily affected by network topology structure, especially in irregular network. We propose a new localization strategy to solve this problem, in which some nodes are promoted asassistant anchors, and then get the localization of all the unknown nodes used both anchors and assistant anchors. In this algorithm, the error caused by the multihopdistancevector routingis decreased by employing assistant anchor nodes in the localization process, and the globallocalization accuracy can be improved obviously. The equational reasoning is sound but not always complete in general. In our previous work, we have given a condition for sound and complete equational reasoning for OBJ specifications and have proposed the notion of local equality predicates (LEP), which is not only used for verification but also used for description of specifications. In this study, we propose a method to prove termination and confluence of specifications with LEPs. Termination and confluence are important properties of term rewriting and are parts of the LEP condition. I found Boolean weighting with Support Vector Machine is most effective in our experiments. I also discovered that the Boolean weighting is suitable for combination with the Information gain feature selection method. The Boolean weighting with Support Vector Machine algorithm yielded the best performance with the accuracy over all algorithms. Based on our experiments, the Support Vector Machine algorithm with the Information gain feature selection yielded the best performance with the accuracy of 77.86%. However, manually developed GPU cluster application is still a very difficult task. To alleviate this problem, we adopt the OpenACC standard for directive-based approach and proposed some extension to support GPU cluster programming. The extensions are constructs and clauses used to define the memory distribution and dependency of tasks on cluster nodes. We propose framework and technique used to implement a source-to-source compiler to support the proposed constructs and clauses. The profiles and effectiveness of these features are also investigated for the sentence segmentation task on the Turkish BN data. We not only used some combinations of the feature sets but also collected some of them in one prosodic feature model in order to achieve one of the best performance. It is often difficult to separate the tumor region from the background tissues. Therefore, tumor segmentation is the challenging problems in the computed aided diagnosis. Among many image segmentation techniques, a generalized gradient vector flow (GGVF) method is one of the popular techniques. It is based on vector transformation of the edge map of the gray scale image. GGVF introduces a non-uniform diffusion to preserve the large gradient of the boundary area and smooth the gradients caused by noise and speckles. However, the improper numerical iteration of GGVF may lead the false contours or the existing noise and finally the snake could not reach the true boundary. In this paper, the new vector field analysis for breast tumor US image segmentation is proposed. The GGVF vector field will be derived from the edge map of the original image. The algorithm analyzes the GGVF vectors in terms of the entropy of the angle of vectors in the corresponding window. The windows will be vertically and horizontally flipped, then the entropy will be evaluated again. Next, the ratio of the entropy before and after flip will be determined to be the classifier of the boundary and non-boundary. The algorithm has been tested on the real US breast tumor images with a set of ground truth images hand-drawn by radiologists. The proposed algorithm is compared with conventional edge detectors such as Sobel and Canny operator. The important question then becomes which physical machines should be used first, because machines from different company or different generation may not be equally efficient in energy consumption. The energy efficiency of a server is characterized by its SPEC Power benchmark. This paper proposes two Greedy algorithms, ESO and FL-n, to determine the order of physical machines to be used in a Cloud environment such that the overall energy consumption is minimized. The experimental results show that ESO performed well when servers were from the same generation, using energy not more than 10% over the optimal ordering. It should, however, be measured by the benefit gained from having such a system. In this paper, we propose a benefit realization framework called Operation of Realizing Benefit in Information Technology (ORBIT). Since the framework focuses more on the users rather than the ICT system, it identifies key milestones, activities, and stakeholders that should get involved in each of the 4 phases in the ICT project life cycle, which includes planning, realization, exploration, and evaluation. Our preliminary results from applying the planning phase of the ORBIT framework in the extension service at Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand is the ICT Context Diagram (IC-Diagram) which illustrates possible infrastructure, technology, services, and devices that should be used for accessing the system in the project.
