At first, we explored the relationship between laser processing parameters, such as laser power, laser repetition frequency, as well as scanning speed, and the processed surface quality for 6061 aluminum alloy plate sample. The optimal laser parameters were determined by the experiment of the flat plate sample processing, and then the paths of laser processing were designed and planned on the aluminum alloy with curved surface to explore the influence of curvature on the surface quality. The results show that the new processing technology of coupled nanosecond laser polishing could obtain good surface quality. The optimal laser processing parameters are average laser power of 5W, scanning speed of 500mm/min, and repetition frequency of 10kHz, which could reduce the surface roughness by 43%. In addition, the surface quality of the aluminum alloy is closer to the original surface as the curvature increased. And the convex surface has a lower surface roughness than the concave surface because the spot shape is different at different curvature positions. However, the coupling efficiency of the beam in the water jet affects the processing quality. The coupling efficiency was found to be affected by the laminar flow quality of the water jet, which has an irregular shape on the surface of the water column ejected from the nozzle. This paper investigates the factors affecting the beam propagation quality and provides an in-depth study of the laminar surface state affecting the laminar light transmission. The laser energy distribution in laminar flow in different surface morphology was simulated with ZEMAX optical simulation software. The influence law on the light transmission efficiency of water jet is obtained, the more complex the surface morphology of the water jet, the worse the light transfer efficiency and the more serious the power loss. By fabricating TAG ceramics through solid-state sintering, this problem can be effectively circumvented. In this paper, the recent research progress on the optimization of the optical quality and MO properties of TAG ceramics were reviewed. The high power performance of TAG ceramics, including their thermal depolarization effect, MO figure of merit, etc., were summarized and compared in details. In all the spectrum of iodine, the saturation absorption lines at 633 nm are the most widely used with the iodine stabilized He-Ne laser. Due to its weak output power, it is difficult to directly measure the absolute frequency with femtosecond frequency comb. In this paper, we present a new optical beating note system based on polarization maintaining fibers, which is employed to measure the weak iodine stabilized laser successfully. The experimental results show that a standard deviation of the frequency fluctuation of 12 kHz and a relative stability of 1.4×10-11 at 1 s are obtained, respectively. Q-switched pulses and sub-pulses with different repetition frequencies were generated with the pump power as 182 mW by combining the random cavity resonances and the Q-value modulation effect induced by the stimulated Brillouin scattering and nonlinear multimode interference in the graded-index multimode fiber. The pulse repetition rate increased continuously from 79 kHz to 113 kHz, and the corresponding pulse width exponentially decreased with the continuously increasing pump power, and a shortest pulse width of 1.85 μs was obtained. At the same time, a multi-wavelength spectrum with the equally spaced interval and an optical signal-to-noise ratio of ~31 dB was achieved. The uniform LIPSS structure act as a grating that diffracts light, which can display vivid structural colors when illuminating the surface with white light. Structural color with periodic LIPSS structure has strong angle dependence, depends on the direction of the LIPSS structure, which provided us with a new method to realize multi-direction micro/nanostructure processing. By changing the femtosecond laser polarization, we can get the periodic micro/nanostructures in different directions. The polarization controllable femtosecond fabrication can be used for multi-pattern fabrication. The structural color with polarization sensitivity, different patterns could be observed in different directions. Moreover, different from other coloration methods, structural color has inherent stability, which have potential application in the fields of anti-counterfeiting, information storage and dynamic display.
