What does self-plagiarism mean, what is the legal framework and in what context does it differ from double publication, paraphrasing, and compilation of ideas, texts, or papers? Self-plagiarism involves publishing/ reusing all or part of the same content, copypaste from a text/texts, expressions, demonstrations, data, hypotheses, theories, results, or scientific methods extracted from written works, double publication, compilation, by the same author, regardless of the language of presentation/ publication, at a certain time interval without making it clear that it has been transmitted in the past and without referring to the original source(s). Selfplagiarism is also the use of close paraphrasing, without fully and correctly mentioning the original source of the text. Self-plagiarism is very clearly committed in a situation where an author, without citing the original source, partially or completely re-exploits his own work. Current trends, measures and principles of education evolution at the international and national level as they appear in consultative and strategic international (OECD, UNESCO, European Commission) and Romanian documents are selected according to pre-set criteria. They are comparatively and thoroughly analyzed and twelve specific topics with important implications for the improved continuing training of teachers. We identified topical issues that both indicate new general accents of education as well as new accents emerging form the recent sanitary crises. The topics are grouped in two categories: topics related with the need for teachers’ and students’ upskilling and reskilling and topics related to school organization and curriculum vision. Various applications on the market have been largely adopted for the information transmission from the educational environment. TikTok is one of these applications, and in this article we aim to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using this application in the educational environment. At the same time, the effects of the heavy use of this application by adolescents are analyzed and also inadequate situations to be avoided in the use of the application are highlighted. Statistical data are presented through a questionnaire-based study. {"title":"PERCEIVED BENEFITS OF ONLINE LECTURES DURING THE PANDEMIC: A CASE STUDY IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION","authors":"V. University students had to move from the traditional classes and laboratories to the online platform. As extant research shows, this shift to online education has both advantages and drawbacks. The objective of this research is to analyze the advantages of online lectures as perceived by engineering students from a Romanian technical university in Bucharest. The analysis has been done on a sample of 109 university students. The results revealed two kinds of benefits: educational and personal. The most important educational benefits were the online participation and the possibility to record and review courses or seminars any time and from anywhere. The most important personal benefits were time-saving, comfort, and money-saving. However, despite the great potential of social networks in the field of education, the possibilities of applying interactive methodologies that include social networking and turning the actual education in a more attractive format of learning is still in a beginner phase... In this respect, it is obvious that the education providers do not exploit enough such learning environments. However, the objective of this paper is to analyze the negative effects of Facebook use on university students’ work. A summated scale for the Facebook intensity of use has been proposed, by integrating three variables: the number of Facebook friends, the number of daily logs, and the time spent daily. Three Facebook user profiles have been defined based on the intensity of use: low, moderate, and high Facebook intensity. Vasilescu","doi":"10.26520/peijes.2020.3.2.36-46","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.26520/peijes.2020.3.2.36-46","url":null,"abstract":"The article follows the case of a preteen with certain particularities (12 years old, a pupil of a school located on the outskirts of Bucharest), who is in the situation of abandonment by one parent and the other parent left for a period of time to work abroad. The present study aims to evaluate the adaptability available to it, as well as the communication modalities, in order to find a method through which to make changes at relational level and to improve the communication between the preteen left at home and the departed parent. The research methods by which the case study data were collected were: BASC 2 test, anamnesis, interview, observation, activity product analysis. The results of the study show that, in the process of improving the capacity of school adaptation, following the emigration of parents, an essential role is played by the communication with the departed parent, the time allocated, the technology used, the frequency of communication with him. At the same time, the conclusions of the research affirm the importance of paying special attention to the children left at home, taking into account the potential of their increased vulnerability and the high probability that certain emotional deficiencies will arise in their development.","PeriodicalId":329234,"journal":{"name":"Pro Edu.
