{"title":"GENERAL TRENDS AND GEOGRAPHICAL DIFFERENCES IN THE DYNAMICS OF THE RURAL POPULATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF SAKHA (YAKUTIA): RESULTS OF THREE DECADES","authors":"V. Filippova, K. Kumo, T. Litvinenko, A. Savvinova","doi":"10.18384/2712-7621-2020-2-65-77","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18384/2712-7621-2020-2-65-77","url":null,"abstract":". Aim. The paper identifies regional characteristics, as well as intraregional and local differences in the population dynamics in rural areas of Yakutia. Methodology. An analysis is performed of the trends and regional specifics of population dynamics in rural areas (uluses) of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) for 1989–2019 based on statistical, comparative-geographical, cartographic and expeditionary research methods. Results . Differences in the dynamics of the population of rural areas of Yakutia in relationship with the geographical location, ethnic factor and features of economic activity are established. The shift of the rural population and its growth occurred in the regions of Central Yakutia such as Namsky, Churapchinsky and Gorny, in historical areas of the settlement of Yakuts engaged in traditional meat and dairy cattle breeding and meat herd horse breeding. The largest decrease in the population due to migration outflow occurred in Momsky and Zhiganskyulus with a more Northern location and poor transport accessibility to the regional center. Research in the districts demonstrates the impact of the location and transport accessibility of the ulus to Yakutsk, the share of the indigenous population and their ethnicity, the development of the social sphere and housing construction, and the dynamics of significant economic activities in terms of employment on the population dynamics. Research implications. A huge amount of various statistical data on the dynamics of rural population of one of the largest regions, Yakutia, is examined. This study helps complement the demographic picture of rural population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), as well as to get an idea of the perspec-tives for rural development.","PeriodicalId":328829,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the Moscow State Regional University (Geographical Environment and Living Systems)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114714700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper identifies the differences in the properties of spring water in forest-steppe landscapes on the secondary moraine plain and mixed and broad-leaved forests on water-glacial plains. Methodology. The data were obtained as a result of field studies 10 Results. Information was obtained about 13 springs of forest-steppe landscapes (environs of Saransk and Ruzaevka) and 8 springs of landscapes of mixed and broad-leaved forests (National Park ‘Smolny’). When comparing the obtained data, significant differences in the physicochemical properties of springs in different landscapes were revealed. The rigidity, hydrogen index, trace element content and flow rate of the water from the springs of forest-steppe landscapes are greater than those from the springs of landscapes of mixed and broad-leaved forests. This is primarily due to the differences in the geological structure of the territories. Captation and the adjacent territory of most of the investigated springs are in good condition, and the water, according to the measured parameters, corresponds to the MPC standards. At the same time, the springs of forest-steppe landscapes are more often used by the local population and experience a stronger anthropogenic impact, both from the direct influence of visitors and as a result of groundwater pollution by land users. Research implications. The results of the study can be used to develop measures aimed at protecting the quality of groundwater and in updating the assessment of the water-resource potential of the Republic of Mordovia.","PeriodicalId":328829,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the Moscow State Regional University (Geographical Environment and Living Systems)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132305124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
