ABC company is a well-established manufacturing company in the middle east that already has their current maintenance strategy to maximize their equipment reliability but based on the data collected from SAP on where they stored their historical data from maintenance and operation, their MTBF is low and their MTTR is quite high. This is because of their high machine downtime hours and repeated failures. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) integrates Preventive Maintenance (Interval-based), Reactive Maintenance, Proactive Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance to increase the machines performance and the component will function in the required manner over its design life-cycle with a very less amount of machine downtime and parts failure. To implement RCM in ABC manufacturing company and apply the developed framework, the failure modes collected from SAP was analyzed using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) with the help of RCM Logic tree analysis for decision making and establishing maintenance criticality criteria. The last part of this paper shows the possible maintenance selection task for each failure modes that the company can consider, challenges in implementing RCM are also explained which might influence the plan of adopting the RCM process in an already established organization. It is also worth mentioning that the developed framework can be apply also in different manufacturing industries that want to implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).","PeriodicalId":328445,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 8th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125487196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the researchers discussed the design, prototyping, and testing of a Gizduino microcontroller as a humidity and temperature sensor. The accuracy of the product was proven by comparing the measurements from the Gizduino Sensor to an actual thermometer and hygrometer. Based upon the t-test analysis, the group concluded that the difference between the data gathered from both devices was insignificant therefore, the Gizduino sensor can be used as an effective humidity and temperature sensor. Moreover, the group also conducted an online survey with 201 participants to identify the factors that could influence consumers' intention to use the product. A Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the data and determine the relationship between the factors involved. Results showed that consumers are most likely to use devices that are user-friendly or easy to operate. It also showed that their perception of the product influences their attitude or intention towards using it. They prefer devices that are efficient and in line with the present technology. In this way, they would also recommend these products to other owners who might find them useful. The study could be beneficial to owners or entrepreneurs who plan to invest in low-cost but accurate temperature and humidity sensors.","PeriodicalId":328445,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 8th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125554301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generated point cloud processed by an algorithm in a programming language python using mainly OpenCV library to generate 2D data - images. This type of generated image achieves better pixel stability compared to images captured by camera vision, which are highly dependent on lighting conditions. At present, mainly inspection systems using camera vision, which are used to capture images being analyzed. This paper describes processing scanning surface of an object performed at an experimental inspection stand. The object of interest is an automobile's tire-like object. The main goal is to develop an inspection system for tire manufacturing. The first Part-Task is developing a matching system for combination more source data and merges them. Generation template data and compare them with inspected scanned data by the same methods. This process is performed by pattern recognition, where the possible methods applicable to these specific data types are described. The result of this work is the preparation of the 3D and 2D data and their analysis for further experiments in the inspection system. Especially, for the analysis of specific principles to identify abnormalities in the geometry of the scanned surface are used. The final system that will be used in mass production will be a compromise between conditions such as the price of hardware, the time to evaluate the possibility of finding abnormalities and analyze them.","PeriodicalId":328445,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 8th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126359449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective was to either minimise total tardiness or makespan. The novelty of I-NEH was to integrate two features into the original NEH heuristic, by applying four rules to break a tie in the machine selection process, and applying either total tardiness or makespan, to break a tie in a job insertion process. There were three main steps for I-NEH. The first step was to schedule jobs by a dispatching rule. The second step was to apply the job insertion and the machine selection processes iteratively. The last step was to apply the forward heuristic in order to reduce the earliness and flow time, whereas the total tardiness obtained from the first two steps must be maintained. Exhaustive experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficiency of I-NEH through the average relative percentage deviation index (ARPD). For the case studies, the results showed that I-NEH outperformed the dispatching rules that have been proven previously to obtain good solutions, with ARPD values of 34.46% for total tardiness and 17.43% for makespan. In addition, the proposed I-NEH heuristic reduced the maximum tardiness with the ARPD value of 19.84% when the objective was to minimise total tardiness, and the computational time of I-NEH was within a reasonable range.","PeriodicalId":328445,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 8th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"150 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121582174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sugar industry is the country's most important business in Thailand that is facing a price wars competition in the global market. Sugar manufacturers have to eliminate and reduce the cost that occurs from non-value-added activities from processes to compete with the producer from other countries. Then, lean manufacturing (LM) is used to be a systematic approach for the identification and elimination of wastes (non-value-added activities) from processes. It can apply to all types of business organizations to enhance productivity and minimize cost. This study aims to apply lean manufacturing for analyzing, improving and eliminating unnecessary activities through value stream mapping (VSM) in warehouse management of sugar manufacturing company in Thailand. All activities are broken down into smaller activities to can be analyzed via workload analysis. ECRS principle is used to make up new activities after identifying the waste and the optimal workflows. The results illustrated that one operation process was removed, the number of workers was decreased by 3 persons, the cycle time of warehouse management decreased by 36% and the total workload of workers decreased by 48%.","PeriodicalId":328445,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 8th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131522828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Typically, all healthcare systems require high-quality services to meet the emergency needs of patients. But providing such services entails high-quantity orders, which in turn amplifies the deterioration rate of drugs and their associated costs. Accordingly, to diminish the deterioration rate of drugs, it is essential to have efficient management of the logistic network as well as tools that support the communication and data gathering throughout the network. In this paper, content analysis is carried out to explain how the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) and the paradigm of integration and cooperation in the supply chain could be used to address the challenges of the pharmaceutical Supply Chain (PSC) by emphasizing on the deterioration of drugs.
