A matching inductor at the inverter output is taken into consideration to maximize the power transfer to the heated piece. In order to regulate the inverter output current, a Proportional-Integrator-Derivative controller is adopted and designed according to the Modulus Optimum criterion in Kessler variant, based on transfer functions. The practical digital signal processor implementation of the control system is performed through an experimental platform based on dSPACE DS1103 control board for rapid prototyping, working together with Matlab/Simulink environment. The experimental setup of the induction heating system is presented and the results of different tests illustrate the proper operation and good performance of the control system. Besides the correct behavior of the current controller, the practical possibility of operating at zero-current switching and of increasing the power by adjusting the control frequency over the resonance value are pointed out.","PeriodicalId":327050,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127107998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

SR EN 61000-4-4: 2009 standard “Electrical fast transients/burst immunity test” regulates the level of the test pulses. But for particular equipment, the general frame defined by the standard is too large. This paper, after highlighting the characteristics of electromagnetic disturbances that occur when connecting and disconnecting the computing equipment, identifies the appropriate level at which it is necessary to start the test procedure, in order to step toward refining the standard procedure for immunity testing to electrical fast transients, resulting in increased efficiency, measured in decreasing test time and in test cost reduction, effective in increasing the portfolio of clients through competitive prices in the market.","PeriodicalId":327050,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE)","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127161263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the demand side management systems that existed were focusing on the interaction between utility company and its customers. So as a reason the Home Energy Management (HEM) systems plays a crucial role in realizing residential Demand Response (DR) programs in the smart environment. It provides a homeowner the ability to automatically perform smart load controls based on utility programs, customer's preference and load priority. This paper presents the hardware demonstration of the proposed HEM system for managing the end-use appliances. The proposed algorithm manages the household loads according to their preset priority and fixed the total household power consumption under certain limit. This work achieves the purpose of reducing electricity expense and clipping the peak-to-average ratio (PAR).","PeriodicalId":327050,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122680838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the electrical drives with frequent starting, stopping or reversing regimes the consumed electrical energy is important and the overall efficiency of the system decreases significantly. Nowadays the worldwide manufactures in the power converters production area proposed as an alternative solution the regenerative electrical drives. The authors propose the modular regenerative electrical drive system with the three phase squirrel cage induction machine. During braking or reversing regime the recovered electrical energy is delivered into AC grid sources. The modular topology is formed by series AC active rectifier, DC link and three-phase power inverter. The integrated regenerative drive system assures both the power quality and improving efficiency. Moreover, the power balance control increase the speed response of the control loops, and decreases the size of the DC link capacitor. The vector control in synchronous reference frame is used for both power converters: the load side and the grid side. The boost inductor design is done such that the maximum 5% total harmonic distortion (THD) of the input current (at the rated power of the AC-AC converter) was ensured. The DC capacitor design is based on the maximum allowed value of the ripple in the DC link voltage. By using the Matlab/Simulink software environment the performances of the proposed regenerative drive system in motoring and regenerating operation modes are shown.","PeriodicalId":327050,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE)","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115550942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper the results of an experimental study regarding the manufacture and characterization of some composites which have low density polyethylene (LDPE) as matrix and neodymium (Nd) and neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) as filler are presented. The manufacture process (with mass content between 0 and 15 %) and their structure (obtained by electronic and optical microscopy) are presented. It is shown that the samples are inhomogeneous and isotropic and the filler particles form clusters of variable dimensions and distances between them. Then, the first magnetization cycles obtained on neodymium (A) and neodymium-iron-boron (B) samples for three mass concentrations (5, 10 and 15 %) are presented. It is shown for both samples type (A and B) that the hysteresis area cycles increase with filler content being greater for samples B than A. It is shown, also, that the magnetic permeability values increase with filler content, but decrease very quickly with the magnetic field strength.","PeriodicalId":327050,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124265970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this analyze is to optimize the process in terms of quality, costs and environmental impact. The first step is to define the activity as a sum of processes according with ISO 14001 Standard aimed to identify the interaction between this processes. To do this it must be established the flux diagram of the wastewater treatment plant activity. The second step is to describe the control system of a wastewater treatment method based on Dissolved Air Flocculation (DAF), used to treat the waste waters, results from the locomotive repairs activity. A case study on a pumping station illustrates the influence of the control system on this activity. All these sentences were made with environmental tools like: ad-hoc methods and control list methods, Environmental Systems Analysis (ESA) tools, critical synthesis of the processes and theirs modeling, observation and the experiment and statistic calculus. The result of this work has a practical implementation as a work procedure in the control quality of the activity. Automatic Block Signal Installations (ABS) are on type of installations that ensure railroad traffic security. To decrease the failure diagnosis and remedy times for ABS Installations in cases where the installations do not regularly invert, we defined a set of diagnosis charts. Based on these charts we devised a diagnosis software tool, called INVBla, which can be used by the technical maintenance staff on both mobile devices (tablet, smart phone) and PCs. The use of the INVBla diagnosis tool is a fast and secure tool that assists the maintenance staff in determining the failures in ABS regular inversion, triggered by dispatch commands, for a unified ABS installation depending on an Electrodynamic Centralized Traffic Control Station of type 4 (CED-CR4).","PeriodicalId":327050,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130233894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
