The out-of-phase supermode is beneficial due to its stability at arbitrary high powers, contrary to the fundamental supermode. We fabricated a double-clad all solid silica fiber with six highly Yb-doped coupled cores arranged in a ring structure. We obtained amplification of 50 picosecond chirped pulses up to ~1 µJ energy with measured content of the out-of-phase mode of >80%. We demonstrated in 3D numerical simulation the possibility of the out-of-phase supermode amplification for powers up to damage threshold in silica glass.","PeriodicalId":325837,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference Laser Optics (ICLO)","volume":"156 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121079258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the method of stabilization of the EDFS as a part of the FOG is presented. The main advantage of this method is the possibility of quick and simple matching of temperature-compensating spectral filters by changing the pump ratio without modifications of the optical scheme. It allows to obtain the world-class stability of the central wavelength of the EDFS as a component of spectral selectivity devices and provides the constant value of the optical power of the output light. The proposed method makes it possible to compensate the spectral characteristics of FOG, achieving the stability of output light central wavelength about 0.7 ppm/°C. Also, a method of real-time stabilization of the central wavelength of the output light (OL) with constant optical power is proposed. The temperature stability of the EDFS central wavelength as a component of the FOG was obtained at 0.32 ppm/°C.","PeriodicalId":325837,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference Laser Optics (ICLO)","volume":"241 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115950274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
