In addition to conventional hot packs and warm water compresses, a myriad of alternative heat modalities is available for therapeutic purposes. Carbon yarn is a nanofiber material that has low density high strength-to-weight ratio. The microscopic crystals of carbon bonded together in an alignment of parallel to the axis. The carbon has unique characteristics of heat resistance and electric conductivity that makes another added use of carbon yarn for thermal therapy for relieve of pain and certain inflammations by allowing the free flow of blood at the applied area. Thus, carbon also has different grades of yarn with differences in their properties and behavior on which our studies have performed for best grade selection. Carbon yarn of 12k and 24k of different lengths have undergone test for their performance. Given the equivalence in functional characteristics between electrical and thermal conductivity, our material selection approach places paramount importance on factors such as electrical efficiency and resistance to high temperatures. This meticulous consideration ensures the creation of an unparalleled and exemplary thermal therapy product. The test outcomes for these carbon yarn samples under various power supply settings have yielded divergent results, yet a notable trend emerges an accelerated heating rate with an increase in current (Amp) while maintaining a constant voltage. The temperature at constant voltage remains the same with the fluctuations of ± 2॰C/min. The objective is to identify a material characterized by minimal electricity consumption and concurrent high-temperature release. Another remarkable attribute of this material is its exceptional ability to rapidly cool to room temperature upon the removal of the power supply. The heat transfer mechanisms, both convective and radiative, exhibited a diminishing trend as the length and number of tows of the simulated carbon fibre electric heating wire increased. Particularly noteworthy was the substantial dominance of convective heat transfer over radiative heat transfer, unequivocally highlighting convective heat transfer as the primary mode for dissipating heat in the carbon fibre electric heating wire.","PeriodicalId":324941,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health Technology and Innovation","volume":"22 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139185558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This growth has been fuelled by initiatives like “Make in India” and the vision of an “AtmaNirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India), which have provided impetus to the industry. With the integration of AI and machine learning technologies, India has made remarkable progress in the development of domestically manufactured robotic surgery systems. These advanced systems have revolutionized surgical procedures by enhancing precision, efficiency, and accessibility. By leveraging 3D printing technology, India has also made significant strides in producing customized medical devices, prosthetics, and anatomical models. These innovations have facilitated surgical planning and training and contributed to the overall advancement of healthcare in the country. The growth of the medical device industry in India is particularly evident in the class I devices segment. Numerous Indian companies have experienced rapid expansion and have even ventured into foreign markets. This trend is exemplified by the success of hemostatic dressings and wound care devices, where Indian manufacturers have developed high-quality products that have gained recognition globally. While India was traditionally known as the “global pharmacy” for its production of generic pharmaceuticals, it is now making its mark in the medical devices industry by offering innovative and reliable devices on the global stage. The government’s unwavering support and the emphasis on self-reliance have fostered a favorable environment for the growth of India’s medical device manufacturing sector.","PeriodicalId":324941,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health Technology and Innovation","volume":"75 7-8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139185432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These specialized beds provide critical data on a patient’s weight, which is integral for monitoring health, tailoring treatment plans, and ensuring accurate medication dosages in bed rest patients, etc. They are particularly crucial in critical care settings, where precise weight measurements are essential for fluid balance and medication adjustments. Weighing beds also has a significant impact on preventive healthcare, enabling timely interventions and lifestyle recommendations based on weight-related health risks. In post-operative care, they assist in assessing factors like fluid retention, and guiding post-surgical interventions. Furthermore, in pediatric healthcare, weighing beds are indispensable for monitoring growth and development. Integration with electronic health records streamlines data management, enhancing efficiency for healthcare providers. Overall, weighing beds are indispensable tool in modern healthcare, contributing to comprehensive patient care and well-being. As the medication requirement of the bedridden patient depends on weight, overdose or underdose of the drug is expected to complicate the problems further. Till now, in the market, there were available detecting devices, but the main problem with them is those devices lift the patient totally or lift the bed totally; For this workforce is more required and also time-consuming and cost-effective. For bedridden patients, it is difficult to measure body weight due to lifting and equipment, as well as the need for a workforce. Some beds have inbuilt measuring sensors, but they are cost-effective for bed purchase. For this, there is a possible way to measure the patient’s weight by using a strain gauge sensor","PeriodicalId":324941,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health Technology and Innovation","volume":"21 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139185718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These ulcers are commonly found in patients who have limited mobility and cannot repositionthemselves in bed. The traditional method to prevent HAPUs involves turning the patient every two hours and using specializedmattresses to redistribute pressure. However, low compliance with turning protocols has made this method difficult to maintainin many healthcare facilities. A novel strategy utilising a wearable gadget that continuously tracks the patient’s position hasbeen presented to deal with this problem. A tablet and the device wirelessly interact, and the tablet notifies the carer when thepatient has to be turned in accordance with hospital policy. The device’s embedded technology records the turning procedure andcontinuously tracks the patient’s location. This information is updated on the hospital’s cloud system for centralised monitoring.During testing, the system demonstrated its ability to reliably identify typical patient poses and track the patient’s location","PeriodicalId":324941,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health Technology and Innovation","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139350246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Now present readings depend on cuff-based technology. This study compared blood pressure readings taken with new device without cuff photo plethysmography – PPG with a typical mercury-based sphygmomanometer apparatus.Purpose:A comparative accuracy study of the touch-based non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) feature of device H360 compared with a mercury-based sphygmomanometer.Material and method: The study was conducted among 95 participants (Above 18 years) at Apex Heart Institute, Ahmedabad from 08th December 2022 to 07th January 2023. We concluded the study on three major factors like age, gender, and health status of participants with hypertensive (n=12), hypotensive (n=18) and normotensive (n=65). Hypotensive and normotensive).Results: According to our observations, the results of the study revealed substantial variations between the three groups in terms of the standard deviation (STD), mean value of systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), as measured by both the H360 and the mercury sphygmomanometer work on the principle that measures blood pressure by constricting the brachial artery with an inflatable cuff. The cuff is inflated until blood flow stops, then slowly deflated until a tapping sound is heard, indicating blood flow resumption. The pressure at which the sound is heard is the systolic blood pressure, while the pressure at which it disappears is the diastolic blood pressure. The mean values of SBP and DBP were highest in the hypertensive group, followed by the normotensive group, and lowest in the hypotensive group.Conclusion: The study concluded that the device H360 device and mercury sphygmomanometer were effective in measuring blood pressure in hypertensive, hypotensive, and normotensive individuals. However, the H360 showed better accuracy and consistency in measuring blood pressure with a mercury sphygmomanometer.","PeriodicalId":324941,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health Technology and Innovation","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139350229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
