However, it is necessary to test the accuracy of satellite data because the resolution and conditions of each region are different. This research aims to validate IMERG rain data against observation data in the 2015 El Nino period using observation rainfall data from BMKG Negara and IMERG data from GPM satellite at 12 rain points in Bali Province. The analytical method used is quantitative statistics, the calculation of errors and correlations and the comparison of the spatial pattern of the two data. The results of the analysis of the spatial pattern of the IMERG data show that, there was a decrease in rainfall from May to July, but the rainfall increased into August, and again experienced a decline entering the months of September to December where the same pattern was also shown from the results of the spatial pattern analysis on the Observation data. The decrease in rainfall in the May-December 2015 period was a strong El Nino effect as evidenced by the results of the correlation analysis of the SOI index on rainfall which showed a fairly strong correlation value, namely 0.55.The validation of IMERG data on monthly observation data showed that the average correlation was sufficient strong is 0.42 and analysis per rain post shows a weak correlation namely 0.31, which means that data IMERG is not yet accurate as an alternative to the observation rainfall data in Bali Province.","PeriodicalId":32375,"journal":{"name":"Buletin Fisika","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49606851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many methods have been applied such as: moment invariant, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), K-mean, Support Vector Machine (SVM) and others. These methods have a few limitations. The moment invariant fashion is highly vulnerable to noise. ANN methods require a long computing time (especially multi-layer ANN) during the training process. On the other hand, the dimensions of the features generated from the methods are relatively high, which requires large storage space (memory). In addition, this leads to the long computing time when the testing process is carried out. Based on these facts, this research makes use of methods that being able to reduce the feature dimensions, namely the Principal Component Analysis (PCA). In the PCA method the dimensions of the sample image are converted to principal components (face space), whose dimensions are much smaller than the dimensions of the sample image itself. Our works exhibit that the PCA method is highly effective in carrying out the pattern classification process. This can be indicated by the relatively high values of Predictive Accuracy, Precision and Recall (close to 1) while the FP Rate is low (close to 0). Moreover, the location of the point coordinates (FP Rate, TP Rate) in ROC graphs is fallen in the upper left region (approaching the perfect classifier region).","PeriodicalId":32375,"journal":{"name":"Buletin Fisika","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.24843/bf.2019.v20.i02.p03","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46695178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rainfall data used were recorded at 2 rain posts, namely Kembangsari and Kintamani. The research aimed to determine the relationship of fluctuations in the value of SOI with the intensity of rainfall, so that it can be used as a regional management plan when El Nino occurs. The method used in this study is correlation. The results obtained from the correlation that is the relationship between SOI value and rainfall in February were quite strong in the Kembangsari post with correlation coefficient of 0.409. Whereas for the Kintamani post the correlation obtained was weak with a correlation coefficient of 0.308. Then in August a weak correlation occurred in the Kembangsari post with a correlation coefficient of 0.2398 and was quite strong in the Kintamani post with a correlation coefficient of 0.4662.
