Adult fish were\u0000exposed to sub-lethal concentration (0.365 µg/L) of Cypermethrin 25% EC in different pH of water, i.e. pH 5, pH 6,\u0000pH 7, pH 8.5 and pH 9.5 for 15 days. Significant histopathological alterations were found in testis and ovary of the\u0000fish subjected to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin 25% EC. Significant decrease (p?0.001) of GnRH\u0000concentration was recorded in pesticide exposed fishes. Significantly more histopathological alterations of gonads\u0000and decrease of GnRH concentration were recorded when fish were exposed to sub-lethal concentration of\u0000cypermethrin 25% EC in pH 5, pH 6 and pH 9.5, compared to fish exposed to sub-lethal concentration of\u0000cypermethrin 25% EC in pH 7 water. A significant increase of GnRH concentration (p?0.05) was documented in\u0000fishes exposed to sub-lethal concentration of cypermethrin in pH 8.5, compared to fishes exposed to sub-lethal\u0000concentration of cypermethrin in pH 7 and the concentration is found to be almost equal to the control group (pH 7,\u0000without toxicant). The quality of the ecosystem is affected globally due to the large production, ubiquitous\u0000usage, and poor plastic waste disposal. Plastic debris is categorized based on its size as macroplastics, mesoplastics,\u0000microplastics, and nanoplastics, respectively. Microplastics are the emerging contaminant that occurs in varying\u0000shapes like tiny beads, spheres, films, fragments, fibres, and filaments. The use of microplastics in cosmetics and\u0000abrasion from large plastic items including textile fibres and tyres are suspected to contaminate the environment\u0000when it reaches the aquatic ecosystem. Indian coastal waters are polluted by microplastics owing to\u0000industrialization, overpopulation, tourist and maritime activities. Many species of fishes, reptiles, birds, and\u0000mammals are directly threatened by entanglement or ingestion, and some marine mammals consume a large\u0000amount of microplastic debris by raptorial feeding thereby leads to trophic transfer. Humans are considered as the\u0000most exposed organisms than other vertebrates as they occupy at the top of the food chain. Certain government\u0000legislations have been put forth to ban some products that are considered as the major contributor to plastic debris.\u0000Recently, the use of bioplastics is increased all over the world to replace microplastics in industrial and commercial\u0000products. However, there is little awareness of the microplastic pollutants among the public, thus the main motive\u0000of this review is to provide public awareness and responsibility to limit the use of plastics that adversely damage\u0000our environment

This population has been subject to\u0000different disturbances, especially poaching and depredation by feral dogs. A five-season line transect survey\u0000revealed that the population size has been halved in less than 15 years with a lower apparent fecundity rate. In the\u0000present work, we carried out a population viability analysis simulating different scenarios using VORTEX software\u0000based on available demographic and life-history data from captive populations,. A sensitivity analysis revealed that\u0000inbreeding depression and possible catastrophic events could have a considerable impact on the population’s\u0000prospects. Scenarios of splitting population into two subpopulations with different management measures\u0000reducing/deleting mortality sources, is proposed. Such scenarios resulted in reducing the consequences of\u0000catastrophic events would significantly mitigate the harmful effects of both inbreeding and environmental\u0000stochasticity. These results may be of a general interest to conservationists dealing with this unique and imperiled\u0000population.

In the current study, the antimicrobial activity of chemically deacetylated chitosan extracts of mud crabs\u0000(Scylla serrata) was evaluated against five human pathogenic isolates viz. Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi,\u0000Klebsiella pneumonia, Bacillus cereus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using agar disc diffusion method.
