Methods: The study was conducted with DC 6 Mindray ultrasound machine within a period of six months at the Radiology Department of ABUTH, Zaria. 200 established diabetic patients with ocular complications aged 15 to 70 years were recruited for the study as case group and 200 established diabetic patients without ocular complication as control group. Results: A total of 800 eyes of 400 patients were involved in this study; 200 diabetic patients with ocular complications as case group and equal number of diabetic patients without ocular complications as a control group. The age range of the patients was 15-70 years (54.16 ± 12.0). 164 were males and 236 were females. Out of the 200 cases studied, vitreous haemorrhage was the commonest finding 195(97.5%), followed by cataract 54(27%), Posterior vitreous detachment 28(14%), Retinal detachment 7(3.5%), optic nerve drusen 6(3%), Vitreous liquefaction 5(2.5%), Epiretinal fibrosis 3(1.5%), Asteroid hyalosis 3(1.5%), and intraocular infection 1(0.5%). In the control group however, 27 (13.5%) had vitreous haemorrhage while the remaining 173 (86.5%) showed normal sonographic findings. Sonographic Findings in the case group were significantly higher than those in the control (p?0.05). Conclusion: The utility of ultrasonography in the detection of ocular complications in diabetic patients is reechoed in this study, and diabetic patients should benefit from this safe radiological evaluation as that will aid early detection of the aforementioned complications.","PeriodicalId":321656,"journal":{"name":"Radiology & Imaging Journal","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139367132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Frequent reasons for hospitalization in pediatric settings, their distribution is worldwide with a high prevalence in Africa. Streptococcus Pneumoniae (STO.P) or Pneumococcus first infectious cause of pediatric mortality is responsible for 15% of deaths before 5 years. In Africa, it is the cause of 21% of deaths, 28% if we include the neonatal period, or nearly a third of deaths. A real public health problem, pneumococcal pneumonia is the subject of numerous guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO). The emergence of strains of Pneumococcus with reduced sensitivity to penicillin, the difficulty of their biological objectification and the co-detection of several pathogens in the same sample complicate their management [2]. Radiography, an available and inexpensive technique, makes it possible to diagnose parenchymal involvement, obtain an etiological orientation, guide antibiotic therapy, ensure follow-up, and thus avoid complications. The general objective of this work is to evaluate the role of standard radiography in the management of bacterial pneumopathies in children. The specific objectives are: − To list the pathogens involved in the different age groups after the introduction of the pneumococcal vaccine in the Extended Vaccination Program (EVP) of Senegal, − To describe the radiological syndromes characteristic of these pathogenic agents. The prognosis of bacterial pneumopathies in children being severe, it is imperative to make an early diagnosis. Unfortunately, non-specific clinical signs, late and random bacteriological results do not allow a good etiological orientation. The fine study of radiological syndromes, confronted with epidemiological and clinical data, has the merit of guiding probabilistic antibiotic therapy and avoiding complications.","PeriodicalId":321656,"journal":{"name":"Radiology & Imaging Journal","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133798111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A meningioma is an extra-axial tumor that develops from the meninges more precisely at the level of the arachnoid. It is most often located at the supra tentorial level intra cranially. In emergent cases and scenarios, the normally allotted time and scope of knowing the patient diminishes rapidly. Clinicians regularly utilize imaging studies as a first step in their treatment plan, especially in cases of non-specific pain [1]. Over time, the field of medicine has devolved into a world in which imaging studies are ordered almost as a prerequisite for beginning any sort of differential.
