Such is the case with Indonesia, one of the largest oil-producing countries in the East Asia region, where the oil boom period in the 1970s has been able to fund many development projects. Although oil resource is waning over the last decade, the country is still among the largest producer in the Southeast Asian region, with an also growing demand for the burgeoning industry. This unique role should be able to strengthen Indonesia‟s position at the international level. That is why through this article, we try to propose a better picture of what could be done by scholars to help in formulating Indonesia‟s energy diplomacy. The purpose of this article is to have a look the role of Pertamina, a State-Owned Enterprise, in supporting international diplomacy while also executing their role in strengthening national energy security. Taking examples from other influential oil-seeking countries such as Japan and China and also from oil-producing „petrodollar‟ country such as Saudi Arabia, then Pertamina should actively engage in promoting development in targetted countries and maintaining bilateral ties. The conclusion of this research article is strong correlations between energy, diplomacy, and development assistance among those countries. Those nexuses will help Indonesia in exercising its “free and active” diplomatic stance in resolving various international issues such as the Freedom of Palestine and The Rohingya issue in Myanmar.","PeriodicalId":32069,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Sosial","volume":"39 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85689043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The issue is related to the attitude of young generation in using social media as a means of expres-sion. Meanwhile, we realize that the internet can often be misleading with the abundance of in-formation and hoaxes. It requires the user’s ability to choose and filter the correct and useful information. As the generation that dominates social media and the internet, Generation Z is al-so a target of politicians and political issues on the internet. Therefore, political literacy for young generation in the internet is crucial. The data in this research were collected by quantita-tive descriptive methods through surveys before and after the socialization of social media and politics. The survey was conducted on 100 high school students in Semarang City. The results showed that the program for political literacy socialization increased the political literacy of the high school students by providing a positive knowledge regarding politics. The number of treaties which have been ratified by the government considered as incomparable to the losses incurred, particularly to the possibility of human rights violations of information dysfunction, and the lack of public participation as well as evaluation functions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach where data is obtained from primary and secondary data. The purpose of this study is to find out the conceptual and practical considerations faced in the possibility of violations of human rights. Moreover, the article also addresses the form of diplomacy carried out by the public regarding several government policies in the Free Trade Agreement and its relations to human rights. The study suggests that the government must guarantee human rights by involving affected communities as a form of collective understanding. Furthermore, the government must also monitor, evaluate, assess, as well as strengthen the communication from various stakeholders to eliminate the hidden costs that can harm the community.","PeriodicalId":32069,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Sosial","volume":"195 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77036302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a collective action at the community level, social capital has a vital role in the management of the waste bank. This study aims to identify and analyse how the level of trust, network, and social norms play a role in creating a sustainable, community-based waste bank management. This research used the qualitative approach and descriptive method. The data collection techniques were carried out using observations, literature studies, and in-depth interviews. The data were analysed using a qualitative-descriptive technique. The study shows that The Lintas Winongo Waste Bank is a community-based waste bank because it was established and managed by community members in RW 11, Bumijo Urban Village, Yogyakarta City. The manager of Lintas Winongo Waste Bank collaborates with several actors to support the management of the waste bank. The Lintas Winongo Waste bank management requires trust between the actors because it is related to the flow of money. The trust between the actors is built through the transparency of the waste bank management process. The network has a role in exchanging information and providing access to various resources required. The strategies to build networking with the actors are communication, shared understanding regarding the purpose of the waste bank, and a shared commitment to support the waste bank management. The social norms are required to maintain the transparency process and trust between the actors. Moreover, the social norm can build awareness of the citizens to manage domestic waste.","PeriodicalId":32069,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Sosial","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75909834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample in this study were 58 entrepreneurs of Small and Medium Batik Industries, who used natural colouring. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, and the analysis technique used was PLS-SEM. The study found that Regiocentric Image Capabilities and Market Penetration significantly influence the Green Products, and it has a significant effect on Marketing Performance. Moreover, Green Brand Image does not influence a significant increase in Marketing Performance. These results indicated that Regiocentric Image Capabilities can enhance the capability of green product innovation with environmentally friendly natural colouring. The product is also supported by a broad market penetration capability. Furthermore, Green Brand Image on batik colouring products has no significant effect on marketing performance. The focus on green products appears so that the SMIs can increase marketing of environmentally friendly batik products.","PeriodicalId":32069,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Sosial","volume":"55 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78667747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Village Law No. 6 of 2014 has opened space for financial autonomy as well as encouraging technology-based financial management models (Siskeudes) in the village. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of Siskeudes in Panaikang Village, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province using qualitative research method. Data collection techniques were carried out through direct observation and interviews with village officials such as the village treasurer, the Siskeudes operator, and a village staff member. Furthermore, the results of the study were reduced, then described by linking several secondary data and field notes. The data obtained was finally presented as a result of the study. The results found that the Siskeudes triggered a disparity between technological developments and the availability of human resources in the village. The disparity referred to here is the unequal social gap. On the one hand, the development of E-Government in the village, especially the village governance went rapidly; while on the other hand, the capability and skills of human resources are still lagging.","PeriodicalId":32069,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Sosial","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87657664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Dayak Meratus tribe represents the majority of the tribe in Indonesia which tends to be isolated, has a low formal education, and lacks of public facilities. This research was aimed at describing the economic rationalities of Tribe Dayak Meratus, a Loksado Indigenous in the Regency of Hulu Sungai Selatan, Borneo Island in term of redenomination perspective. This research is important since redenomination has potential to create hyperinflation if it was not implemented properly, especially related to the inland community in Indonesia which is more than 13,000 islands. The data collecting applied focus group discussion which involved the chair and member of the Tribe, also survey as the data triangulation of method. This research applied explanation building and frequency distribution for the data analysis. The results show that the Loksado Indigenous has a  marginal economy and formal education,but the Tribe has high social capital for its gotong royong (mutual cooperation) spirit and has sufficiently good financial literacy that forms good economic rationalities. In the term of redenomination, the economic rationalities would be essential to maintain so that economic crashes would not be occured. Redenomination for indigenous people would be considered the same as the change in currency that has occurred several times in Indonesia, in wchich the socialization was through conventional media.","PeriodicalId":32069,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Sosial","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84016837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Power exists in all fields of life; it includes the ability to govern and also make decisions that directly influence the actions of others. This study aims to determine how social interaction and power practices between the crew and shipowner; and between crews on small vessels. This research was conducted with a descriptive-qualitative approach using a case study strategy. The study was conducted in Muarareja Urban Village, West Tegal Subdistrict, Tegal City, Central Java Province. The results showed that small scale fishers in Muarareja Urban Village, Tegal City can be categorized as daily fishers and weekly fishers. The practice of power between the owner and the daily crew on the small vessels has an exploitative relationship dimension. This relationship is indicated by the compulsion of the shipowner to the crew to keep fishing even though the weather is bad or during a low season. The practice of power between the shipowner and the crew was strongly influenced by the shipowner's debt to the Bank or middleman, which must be paid every month. On the other hand, the practice of power exercised by the weekly fishers to the shipowner is by being able to resign and choose to work with other shipowners easily. If the crew feels uncomfortable working on a ship, they will look for a new shipowner.","PeriodicalId":32069,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Sosial","volume":"48 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76224282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
