L’objectif de cet article est de presenter les principales methodes d’essais qui ont ete developpees, soit pour comparer des materiaux et des procedes de fabrication, soit pour obtenir les donnees necessaires a la prevision des durees de vie de composants soumis a un chargement cyclique. Cet article arbore tout d’abord les definitions liees aux essais de fatigue. Ils ont une bonne conductivite thermique et electrique, une usinabilite, ainsi qu'une tolerance a l’endommagement et une resistance a l’oxydation a haute temperature. Cette combinaison unique leur confere un potentiel fort comme materiaux structurels et fonctionnels, notamment en environnement severe (hautes temperatures, oxydation, irradiation...). Apres avoir presente ce contexte et les methodes classiques de controle de la fatigue par emission acoustique (EA), une nouvelle methode non destructive de detection specifique de la propagation de fissures de fatigue est exposee a partir de multiplets acoustiques : signaux d’EA repetitifs, aux formes d'ondes quasi identiques.
