But the dependence of man-machine interaction is not considered in ITA approach, which ignores the differences of task scenarios meanwhile. In this paper, we put forward an Improved Incident Tree Analysis methodology (IITA) taking this dependence into account, and present its mathematic method. Firstly, information quantity and control sequence quantity are introduced and reformed to show the dependence of the man-machine interaction process at the information level. And then the steps of determining the two parameters values in different task scenarios are given. A vehicle-leaving-roadway accident is taken as an example to illustrate the proposed method. Contrasting with the results of ITA, IITA is proved better to evaluate the risk of complex man-machine systems.","PeriodicalId":317626,"journal":{"name":"2017 Second International Conference on Reliability Systems Engineering (ICRSE)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128179716","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To ease the information storage, practitioners in industry may only record the number of failures during an operation interval instead. Such a type of data compresses the detailed failure information and may be called time-censored aggregate data. Because only limited information is available, the statistical inference for aggregate data is more challenging than traditional lifetime data. This study focuses on the statistical analysis of time-censored aggregate data, and four popular parametric lifetime distributions are used to model such data. We first use the gamma distribution and the inverse Gaussian (IG) distribution to model the data, and exploit the maximum likelihood (ML) method for parameter estimation. Then, we fit the data by the Weibull distribution and the log-normal distribution. Unlike the gamma and IG distributions, the Weibull and the log-normal distributions involve multi-dimensional integration in their likelihood functions, which lead to difficulties in estimation. To address the estimation problem, an approximate Bayesian computation algorithm that does not require the likelihood function is proposed. The methods are justified through simulations and validated by a real-life dataset.","PeriodicalId":317626,"journal":{"name":"2017 Second International Conference on Reliability Systems Engineering (ICRSE)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123533957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The immersive virtual maintenance simulation, with motion capture devices driving the virtual personnel to perform the same action as the operator does, can make the maintenance simulation more real and valuable. However, because of a lack of interaction approach between the operator and simulation system, the operator cannot drive the virtual personnel to interact with 3D entities in virtual environment, and consequently, interactions like grasping and carrying become impossible. Therefore, three is a great need to find a way to deal with the plight. In this paper, a speech recognition-based interaction approach is put forward for immersive virtual maintenance simulation to help the operator to control the interaction process with voice command. Based on analysis on maintenance action, an abstract mechanism for instruction language is developed. Next, the paper gives the simulation framework for speech recognition-based immersive virtual maintenance simulation system. Through Microsoft Speech SDK and Secondary Development Technology of DELMIA, a functional simulation system is built and used to carry out an engine maintenance simulation. The result of this application shows the efficiency and effectiveness of the speech recognition-based interaction approach proposed for immersive virtual maintenance simulation.","PeriodicalId":317626,"journal":{"name":"2017 Second International Conference on Reliability Systems Engineering (ICRSE)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124869023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The recent researches about the ELLPs have been investigated including airworthiness regulations and life management plan based on the airworthiness requirements and advisory circulars related to the ELLPs from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). Take a certain type of fan rotor as an example, the flowchart and approach to determine the ELLPs have been established through three steps. Each part of the fan rotor has been checked and listed in the collection of the ELLPs, in which the primary failure level is the catastrophic and the failure mechanism corresponds to the low cycle fatigue (LCF). The list of ELLPs in this type of aero-engine has been obtained using the present approach. This approach provides the guidance to enhance the safe life through maintaining the attributes required for engineering plan by determining the life-limited parts with other types of aero engine.","PeriodicalId":317626,"journal":{"name":"2017 Second International Conference on Reliability Systems Engineering (ICRSE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123266042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the large software program, Multiple faults may interact with each other in some ways. In this paper, we investigated the property of multi-faults through the method of fault-injection in Siemens suits. Inspired by previous research, we focused our attention on three types of fault interaction: independent faults; faults masking; faults construction and explored what factors lead their interference in nature. The empirical study in Siemens suits showed that: 1). the probability of two faults interference is less than 1%, which means the independent assumption holds true in most cases. 2). faults masking is more frequent than the fault construction. 3). the occurrence of faults interference is not random. By focusing on and analyzing the double-faults versions that occur high-frequency interference, we find they always involve the same variable, which means the occurrence of fault interference have a certain condition.","PeriodicalId":317626,"journal":{"name":"2017 Second International Conference on Reliability Systems Engineering (ICRSE)","volume":"410 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123395908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the cables are set within the narrow space of fuselage, the electrical environment and the spatial structure are complex, however, the traditional design process mainly focus on the physical properties of the cable itself without taking the maintainability especially the accessibility into consideration. In order to solve this problem, we first put forwards a cable layout design optimization model by converting basic constraints to weights of points in space through taking pretreatment (layering, rasterizing, digitalizing) in wiring space and confirming quantitative constraint conditions of accessibility based on visual cone volume of maintenance point and collisionless space volume. Then in the solving of the model, an improved A * algorithm is adopted and an optimized path of the cable is figured out. We use DELMIA to carry out 3D modeling to achieve the cable layout design and optimized the layout result based on its accessibility analysis module. In the end, we make a case study on cable layout optimization of an equipment compartment and verify the feasibility of the method, at the same time, propose a new and practicable optimization method for the design work of cable layout for aviation equipment.","PeriodicalId":317626,"journal":{"name":"2017 Second International Conference on Reliability Systems Engineering (ICRSE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129007973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
