Learning technology allows disabled learners to acquire knowledge and skills more conveniently and effectively. Designing a learning environment should consider accessibility in order to provide an opportunity for those learners to access learning material and information. Much research has focused on improving the discovery of learning materials suitable for the needs of those with disabilities. However, there is no standard approach to adaptive techniques for discovering suitable materials. Most current practice focuses on disability type without considering learners' competence. This research proposes a model that addresses the challenge of accessible learning material based on people's competences and functional capability. This model includes data preparation, matching, and presentation.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129017855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Originally targeted at populations in underdeveloped countries not otherwise able to offer a world-class education, these courses have become popular and mainstream in developed countries being free, online and caters to most professionals to build skills and explore career changes. Current delivery format robs an academic the ability to express their teaching style. The PLErify Application seeks to address the need to support, through a ‘DIY approach’, an Academic's teaching style and retain ownership of materials. PLErify is discussed in the paper relative to the Robots role vis a vis the traditional Professor's role and the prevailing thought of the best ways to energize and modernize current teaching methods.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126644585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research attempts to prove their claims and requires to study the effectiveness of their fingerprint prevention and observe the results of side effects after defence in order to assist the attentive user to know the limitation of current approaches. Under investigation, all countermeasures will be installed on the web browser and visit the developed hybrid fingerprint website in order to know the efficiency of the fingerprint resistance of all types. The research shows that all fingerprint countermeasures nowadays are unable to obstruct all kinds of the fingerprint tracking and countermeasures that use the blocking technique appear more side effects to the web browser than other techniques. Also, the increasing number of fingerprint attributes are increasing cause of unusual combination inside the Internet browser.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126901379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data are suitable for next processing and analyses and the whole procedure is reasonably cheap. It is necessary to propose and describe a suitable process for data collection and processing to repeatedly obtain correct results. Thus, the paper proposes the whole procedure of UAV data collection, preprocessing, classification and indices calculation. The selected aspects of the process are described in a graphical form of various process diagrams (process map, data flow diagram and indicators matrix). The paper describes a case study which is focused on an identification of a small water body (pond Pohranov near Pardubice city in the Czech Republic) shoreline to demonstrate the whole process. The provided graphical description allows standardise the whole process, choose suitable data and an appropriate way of their analysis (e.g. indicators matrix). Main advantage of the proposed procedure is applicability on various data sources and areas of interest.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132901164","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A majority of eligibility criteria contain temporal information associated with medical conditions and events. This project creates a novel natural language processing (NLP) pipeline for extraction and classification of temporal information as historic, current and planned from free-text eligibility criteria. The pipeline uses pattern learning algorithms for extracting temporal information and trained Random Forest classifier for classification. The pipeline achieved an accuracy of 0.82 in temporal data detection and classification with an average precision of 0.83 and recall of 0.80 in temporal data classification.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125302426","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since these big data are an emerging field of study, there is no simple solution to process or analyze them. This paper aims to provide a model approach to process big educational data from the Moodle system in the cloud using the Apache Hadoop cluster. An experimental implementation of the proposed model approach is included to validate this solution. The results then suggest that the proposed model approach has a potential to be widely used for the processing of big educational data, especially with user interaction data.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114188431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to investigate engagement with, and effectiveness of, different avatar interface types (text, image, audio, video and cartoon) when used within a mobile learning context, and specifically, when used to teach the English language courses mandatory within Saudi degree programmes. One hundred fifty six students from Albaha University participated in this study which involved students undertaking mini lectures delivered onto their mobile devices via each of the five avatar types. The students completed pre/post questionnaires about their perceptions and experiences of mobile learning and undertook a short test to assess their performance and retention of information after the mini-lectures. Results revealed that the majority of students rated the convenience of using m-learning as being very important and showed that they possessed the required resources and underlying technical experience required to adopt m-learning. Results also showed that whilst female students preferred to learn from video or cartoon interfaces they performed best with cartoon and audio interfaces, whilst male students preferred the video interface yet performed better with the cartoon interface.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115242264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although using a fine-grained web-service request allows better flexibility of services, this approach will require service consumers to make multiple service requests to the cloud. The cloud will end up receiving a significantly higher number of requests, lowering the performance and increasing latency. The fine-grain APIs can also leave the data in an inconsistent state and create maintenance problems. Using coarse-grain requests will reduce the load on the server, especially necessary for cloud PAAS (Platform as a service) with governor limits on the number of API requests. In our research, we have proved that encapsulating multiple objects in a single API request will also improve the bandwidth, latency and API consumption for cloud PAAS.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128212822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, we will dive into Card Connect, a registered ISO of Wells Fargo Bank, and see how their client-side-dependent model allows for trivial manipulation. Then we look at Card Connect plugins for more widespread vulnerabilities. Lastly, we propose a sort of leaky-bucket solution wherein the e-commerce platform must validate all of the assumptions previously made; albeit, tokenized credit card transactions are a technology that should be leveraged when resources allow. However, hiring a skilled software developer to implement a secure credit card processing system is out of reach for many small retail shops.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130963913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From that perspective, the paper identifies the traits that characterize each party's communicational emphasis, specifically on whether such sites promote or limit deliberative behaviors amongst each page's subscriber/follower. Thus, by analyzing posting frequency, content and overall response (likes, comments, sharing) trends, it is shown how the electoral success of some parties may be — partially-explained by their online activity. Also, by identifying and classifying the types of contents posted, the study focuses on generating a content typology (v.g. photo posts, text statuses, video posts, etc.). This content taxonomy displays the kind of traits each content type signifies in terms of political (and digital) engagement. This typology presents three major categories: Informative parties, Self-promotional parties and Interactive-driven parties. Although the three categories aren't entirely exclusive, they imply specific characteristics.","PeriodicalId":317605,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Information Society (i-Society)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134277396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
