The book considers questions raised by the stories of Krishna and enables the reader to reflect on the relevance of these today. It does not attempt to be the final word on the subject, or to give one definitive 'version' of the Krishna stories. Indeed the reader is warned off this approach. The use of the ethnographic voices from interviews with members of the Hindu community in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK are a vital part of the book both in the first chapter and in the later text.
