The analysis is an extension of our previous study, which was called an analysis on studentpsilas performance using fuzzy systems. The main function of this analysis is to support the development of intelligent planning system (INPLANS) using fuzzy systems, neural networks, and genetic algorithms which will be used by the academic advisory domain in educational institutions by evaluating and predicting studentspsila performance as well as comparing the results with the previous study. The neuro-fuzzy model is connectionist feed-forward architecture with five layers of neurons and four connections. The system has been tested for 26 cases of studentspsila results. PCA is recognized as an optimal method to perform dimension reduction, yet being claimed as lacking discrimination ability. LDA once proposed to obtain better classification by using class information. Disputes over the comparison of PCA and LDA have motivated us to study their performance. In this paper, we describe both of these statistical subspace methods and evaluated them using The Database of Faces which comprises 40 subjects with 10 images each. This study is an attempt to apply Rasch Measurement in the field of technology to assess Information Professionals’ (IP) competency. Bloom’s Taxonomy is used as the framework for assessment whilst utilising Rasch model in constructing the measurement in evaluating the competencies. Assessment only generates raw score and need to be transformed into meaningful measurement values. Rasch model measurement enable tabulation the IP; person and, a given task; the items, on a distribution map (PIDM) on a common scale termed logit. It gives a more accurate estimate of the IP’s achievement on a linear scale of measurement. Comparative analysis against the traditional histogram tabulation and simple mean shows that Rasch measurement was found to give a better exploratory depth in understanding the ability of each IP. Despite the small sample size, the IP were clearly categorized according to the respective workgroup cluster, knowledge and skills. This leads to a new paradigm in assessing competency of IP individuals using Rasch model. This paper presents the design of a complete display unit for Arabic alphanumeric characters using uniform segments. The word ‘complete’ signifies that the proposed display unit can represent all forms of entire Arabic alphabets as well as Arabic numerals. The word ‘uniform’ is used because of avoiding curved segments. The first segmented display unit for Arabic characters in the world covered only the isolated form and did not follow any base line to display a sequence of characters. This work extends the capability to represent all the forms of Arabic characters and follows a base line to represent a sequence of characters. Here a grid structure of 25 non-overlapping segments has been discovered. There can be 109 alphanumeric characters (at least 99 characters such as isolated form- 30, final form-29, medial form- 21, initial form- 20; and 10 numerals) to be displayed and 7-bit input is used to represent each character. The system functions as a decision support system to help users the potentiality of investment in MEMS industry by predicting future sales and profitability based on past knowledge. In this paper work fuzzy logic system (FLs) is proposed, as it is conveniently adaptable to solve such problems. Among the many factors that are important for predicting MEMS industry potential, are sales, price, profit, earning, P/E ratio, PEG, P/S ratio. Some of these factors may be related, but some act independently. These factors are combined together into a finalize result. Data Fusion is the process of combining multiple economic factors in order to produce information of tactical value to the user. Briefly, in this project, the behaviour of an intelligent system is simulated by the fuzzy logic toolbox. In fact, the output variable and valuation scale is dasiainvestmentpsila. The taxonomies are built via FCA using syntactic dependencies as attributes such as verb/head-object, verb/head-subject and verb/prepositional phrase-complement. This paper discusses the overall process of learning taxonomy using FCA with the same syntactic dependencies as the English language which is then applied on Malay texts. Malay, an Austronesian language follows the same Subject-Verb-Object sentence structure like English but syntactically different. The result shows a lower recall and precision compared to related work in other languages. The poor result is caused by several factors such as the selection of smoothing technique. The experimental result indicates that the current smoothing technique with FCA does not produce good results. Therefore, as an addition to the syntactic dependencies, we used linguistic pattern such as Hearst’s pattern in finding similarities between terms. We compare the results of our technique against the cosine used in the FCA-based taxonomy learning approach. Research in the area of grid has given various ideas and solutions to address these requirements. However, since the number of participants (scientists and institutes) that involve in this kind of environment is increasing tremendously, scalability, availability and reliability have been the core problem for such system. Peer-to-peer (P2P) is one of the architecture that promising scale and dynamism environment. In this paper, we present a P2P model for Scientific Data Grid that utilizes the P2P services to address those problems. For the purpose of this study, we have developed and used our own data grid simulation written using PARSEC. In this paper, we illustrate our P2P Scientific Data Grid model, our data grid simulation and the design of proposed data replication strategies. We then analyze the performance of data discovery service with and without the existence of replication strategies relative to their success rates, response time, average number of hop and bandwidth consumption. One of the major underlying problems in this field is amount of water consumption. A principle challenge many hospitals face is in identifying the way of water waste and reducing its consumption. In this research a modification in cooling trap of autoclaves is presented. Also related efficiency evaluated through direct measurement of water consumption. Correlation of data and measurement implies that using water saving system in steam sterilizers reduce more than 60 % water waste as an average, Although it directly depends on the type of autoclaves. In this case gravity autoclaves compared with vacuum type. It was seen applying water saving systems to vacuum autoclaves brought better results than gravity types. It is also concluded, retrofitting sterilizers with water conserving system was determined to be a very cost effective water conservation measure for Iranian private hospitals.
