Data provenance by data lineage provides the derivation history of data including information about services and input data that contributed to the creation of a data product. We show that tracing lineage by means of full backward chaining not only enables users to share, discover and reuse the data, but also supports scientific data processing through storage, retrieval and (re)processing of digitized scientific data. In this paper, we present Astro-WISE, a distributed system for processing, analyzing and disseminating wide field imaging astronomical data. We show how Astro-WISE traces lineage of data and how it facilitates data processing, retrieval, storage, archiving. Particularly we show how it solves issues related to the changing data items typical for the scientific environment, such as physical changes in calibrations, our insight in these changes and improved methods for deriving results.","PeriodicalId":312802,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115141845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main affecting factor is the added noise during its propagation in mixed signal environment which makes very difficult to extract exact information from the signal. Additionally hardware requirement increases when we want to process these kinds of signals. In this paper, we proposed a customized hardware for this purpose. This hardware caters the problems of noise, signal integrity issues and crosstalk which directly effects embedded circuit efficiency. The board has all the options to cater the situation where the required signal is buried in the noise or having very low level amplitude. Noise elimination and crosstalk is avoided in this hardware which include high speed Field Programmable gate Array (FPGA).","PeriodicalId":312802,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114550070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Text mining is a promising approach for extracting knowledge from unstructured textual documents. The objective of this paper is to mine documents pertaining to Ayurveda, which are retrieved from PubMed into a databank, and find novel transitive associations among biological objects. This paper discusses the extraction of biological objects from the databank using an Automated Vocabulary Discovery (AVD) algorithm. A text-mining process is described for finding transitive (novel) associations among the extracted biological objects. The text mining algorithm, in addition to identifying novel associations (termed hypotheses), also assigns a numerical significance score to them. The expectation is that those with higher score have greater likelihood of being true than those with lower scores. Experimental results as well as their validation results are presented, demonstrating that the method has the potential to predict novel and interesting true associations.","PeriodicalId":312802,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127105740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authentication process, called Return Routability (RR) Test, is required in every handoff and can delay the handoff process by a round trip delay between mobile and corresponding nodes. In this paper, two mechanisms are proposed to reduce the latency involved in RR tests and binding association. They eliminates triangular routing delay in RR tests by using multiple authentication tokens or easily regenerative tokes, so that the round trip delay in performing RR tests can be eliminated.","PeriodicalId":312802,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124308990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The notification conditions are directly or indirectly and completely or partially based on public information available on the Internet such as news, stock prices, exchange rates, oil price, etc. In some alert services, the user can reuse this information to define alert conditions for some required interests in which mobile phone text messages, instant messages, or email alert messages are sent to them upon meeting the pre-specified alert conditions. This paper discusses currently available alert models and some research based proposed models. Then it provides a classification of these different web alert models. This study also provides engineers and researchers with an overview of these models and their types then discusses several system design issues and challenges related to each alert model.","PeriodicalId":312802,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131282996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An expert finding task, namely, finding “good” medical informatics reviewers in peer-review processes, was used in an agentbased simulation environment to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of the proposed model. Experiments on a coauthorship network of 181 peers showed that the model based on topical relevance cues was able to identify experts within a very short referral chain and largely outperformed random walks. Applying heuristics to rewire the connections and to constrain the use of remote neighbors showed large improvement on efficiency and provided a better network underpinning for finding shortcuts to experts. The study showed results consistent with previous research on navigation in small worlds and focused on IR applications with richer dimensions of complexity.","PeriodicalId":312802,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131867130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although most of them can be utilized as a general use by many sort of people, the features and functions of them are not provided enough in case that specialists achieve a certain purpose. In this paper, as one of enterprise of services, we propose a new textbook/examination edit system developed by Ie-Web framework, called ”Veritas Document”. The service model and system is developed based on customware conception from the framework. The basement of the framework includes Database, AJAX engine, and several other systems in addition to the concept of implementation technique. As an actual system, we propose a new collaborative textbook/examination creation system called the CTWriter system, that works in most server environments provided it is capable of handling PHP documents. As for the client-side functions, this system requires a JavaScript-capable browser since it relies heavily on JavaScript. The system uses Ajax, which is short for Asynchronous JavaScript and XMLHttpRequest, for client-server data interaction. Using Ajax, the data transfers will be seamless as all data transfers and data processing is done in the background and in real-time. Our proposed system includes some features including document edit, figure addition, paragraph change, and several others, that can be customized when the systems are developed.","PeriodicalId":312802,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130398670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
