In order to meet the needs of learning resources enquiry, resources reorganization and collaborative knowledge building, it calls for a new style of learning content management system in ubiquitous environment, which is the ubiquitous learning content management system (ULCMS). In the new type of learning environment, the description of ubiquitous learning resources and the construction of the semantic relationship between learning objects are the foundation of resources enquiry, resources reorganization and collaborative knowledge building. This research will construct a new ubiquitous learning content management system, focus on the learning resource ontology description and the semantic relationship construction between learning objects, and propose a semantic-oriented ubiquitous learning object model (SULOM).","PeriodicalId":311925,"journal":{"name":"2008 7th IEEE International Conference on Cybernetic Intelligent Systems","volume":"96 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115635548","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They usually ask the users to fill the registration forms for using their services. Unfortunately, some vandalistic persons write programs which make automatic fake registration. For solving this problem, CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Human Apart) systems are invented. These systems distinguish human users from computer programs. One of the CAPTCHA methods which is designed for Persian and Arabic users is Nastaliq CAPTCHA. In this method, the image of a Persian or Arabic word which is written in Nastaliq font is chosen from a dictionary, and it is shown to the users, then they are asked to type it. However, this method requires a large space for keeping the images and the library should also be very extensive, which requires large expenses to create. Also because this method uses its word from a dictionary, it can be broken in by using a dictionary. In this paper a solution for solving this problem is proposed. In our method, instead of using a large database of prepared word images written in Nastaliq font, each time a random meaningless Persian/Arabic word is generated and shown to the user. Therefore, we do not need to make a local database for images, so the costs are reduced. Also because this method does not use a dictionary, the possibility of breaking the method is reduced.","PeriodicalId":311925,"journal":{"name":"2008 7th IEEE International Conference on Cybernetic Intelligent Systems","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116741266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With an overview of the specific methodology and techniques employed in the Space Shuttle PRA modeling process, the paper further describes a structured multi-phase and multi-level modeling approach (SMM), which is utilized to treat the overwhelming complexities of logic structure as well as the logistics of model development, integration and quantification processes. It is demonstrated that the SMM modeling technique can be used as a simple and efficient alternative approach for PRA modeling of extremely large and complex engineered systems. It should be noted that the examples shown are illustrative of the model features, but not necessarily of any detailed accident sequence produced by the space shuttle PRA (SPRA) study.","PeriodicalId":311925,"journal":{"name":"2008 7th IEEE International Conference on Cybernetic Intelligent Systems","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115902375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Like the user, it views the game; it takes commands from the user, the commands are used to set goals, and the system interleaves all of these processes. Crucially, CABot1 is implemented entirely in simulated fatiguing Leaky Integrate and Fire neurons. The long term goal of this line of research is to develop a system that can solve the Turing test. The author believes that the best approach to building such a system is to mimic humans at a neural and psychological level. CABot1 makes use of the Cell Assembly hypothesis as the neural implementation of symbols, and as such, CABot1 processes symbols. Developing increasingly complex systems, like CABot1, that are grounded in an environment should lead to a system that is capable of grounding its symbols, learning new symbols, rules and relationships. If such a system is allowed to learn enough, it will be able to pass the Turing test. CABot1 does not pass the Turing test, but it does demonstrate how vision, language, and planning can be implemented in a neural system and integrated into a useful system.","PeriodicalId":311925,"journal":{"name":"2008 7th IEEE International Conference on Cybernetic Intelligent Systems","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115872581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates a new methodology of mobile positioning using only GSM network and integrating sectorial antenna information. The methodology employs an extended Kalman filter approach in which the stochastic errors related to various measurements are appropriately characterized and modeled. The developed approach relies on the knowledge of the base station locations as well as antenna polarization. Besides, radio propagation model like Hata-Okumura model was used for distance determination through signal strength information. A feasibility experiment was carried out in Birmingham area. An accuracy of less than 100 meters has been achieved, which shows substantial increase over standard timing advance related techniques and the commercial software.","PeriodicalId":311925,"journal":{"name":"2008 7th IEEE International Conference on Cybernetic Intelligent Systems","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127426337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increasing dynamics of the constraints is used to parametrise the optimal solutions which form a trajectory in the space of probability measures. Stochastic processes following such trajectories describe systems achieving the maximum possible utility gain with respect to a given information. The theory is discussed on examples for finite and uncountable sets and in relation to existing applications and cognitive models of learning.","PeriodicalId":311925,"journal":{"name":"2008 7th IEEE International Conference on Cybernetic Intelligent Systems","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133673551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vergence enables stereo vision systems to perceive depth and to acquire obstacle maps. Vergence movement is directly related to the binocular fusion. Additionally, the decision for convergence or divergence is extracted either by motion affine models or by mathematical ones. In this paper, a new method for extracting the cameras' movement direction, for verge or diverge, is presented. The movement decision is performed by a fuzzy control system, the inputs of which are the zero-mean normalized cross correlation (ZNCC) and the depth estimations at each time step. The suggested system can be used in any active binocular system and is computationally inexpensive. Moreover, the proposed system is independent to a priori camera calibration.","PeriodicalId":311925,"journal":{"name":"2008 7th IEEE International Conference on Cybernetic Intelligent Systems","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122247368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
