Decisions to invest abroad depend on a complex set of factors, but the least corrupt countries may attract more foreign direct investment because they provide a more favorable climate for investors. In this paper we investigate the impact of corruption on FDI inflows in 73 countries, over the period 1998-2008. They represent different political aspirations, but all of them relied heavily on the Internet to communicate and organise. This research analyses two specific contentious processes - the UK student protests and the Chilean environmentalist protests in 2010 - to assess the effect that the Internet may have had on the protesters' perception of democracy. Through data gathered from online surveys, interviews, and the Oxford Internet Survey 2009, this article observes the effect of the Internet in two dimensions: support for democracy, and the protesters' conception of democracy. A pesar de constituir un legado clave de los regímenes autoritarios y sobrevivientes a las transiciones democráticas en América Latina, los Regímenes de Excepción han sido rara vez estudiados por los cientistas políticos. Centrándonos en el caso de Bolivia, la investigación se basa tanto en las leyes relevantes como en 65 decretos presidenciales, que son analizados mediante el método del análisis de contenido. Como resultado,  se demuestra que para Bolivia, tanto el marco legal y el uso político de los Regímenes de Excepción se han transformado desde un mecanismo puramente represivo hacia uno más administrativo. Al analizar los resultados electorales por distritos de las cuatro contiendas parlamentarias celebradas entre 1989 y el 2001, demostramos que el numero efectivo de partidos no ha variado en form estadisticamente significativa. Argumentamos que el amplio numero de diputadostitulares que se presentan a la reeleccion contribuye a mantener bajo el numero efectivo de partidos y candidatos en las contiendas legislativas chilenas. Therefore this alternative implies a less drastical change than moving to proportional representation (PR), which makes it unnecessary to revise the distribution of the representative's numbers by unit of representation. Furthermore, by maintaining the basic aspect of the binominal formula, this reform does not alter the conditions under which the current legislators were elected as such. The capacity to manifest a man's popularity or a cause iscommonly contributed to this very conception. Moods are thereby deduced from the observation of behaviours or individual beliefs, assuming that acclamation is equivalent to an act of adherence. The author's demonstration isthe following: 1) to show the reasons for the astonishing social effectiveness ofthis conception; and 2) to indicate that expert interpretations should not abusively reduce the act of acclamation to the mere exercise of an act of will, which debatably derives the existence of public moods from the observation of the participants' behaviour in a multitudinal concentration.
