Two cases of dextrocardia with situs inversus were accidentally found in adult Thai hearts received for researches from the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University. They were found in 43and 78-year-old Thai men. One case of dextrocardia with situs inversus was found in gross anatomy practice of Chiang Mai University. It was found in a 62-year-old Thai man. Therefore, the authors investigated whether the MB over the left and right coronary arteries and their branches was present in or absent from three cases of dextrocardia with situs inversus. The MB was found over the distal left coronary artery in one case of dextrocardia with situs inversus.","PeriodicalId":311585,"journal":{"name":"International Archives of Vascular Medicine","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133509180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

[6] carried out an innovative study in which they evaluated the cardiovascular risk associated with lifelong organic oxidative stress in adults and young people, independently of traditional risk factors, by calculating multiple ROS levels and cardiovascular risk scores, finding that in the young adult population (30 to 50 years) with no history of a cardiovascular event, oxidative stress levels were relatively similar to those with a history of the event, and/or with established coronary artery disease, and therefore the risk of the “healthy” group was high [6]. This may indicate an abysmal underestimation of cardiovascular risk with the use of simple cardiovascular risk scores, which must be taken into account in the clinical practice.","PeriodicalId":311585,"journal":{"name":"International Archives of Vascular Medicine","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124449661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We sought to evaluate clinical and interventional factors that might influence the clinical outcome in these patients. Methods: We retrospectively analysed the interventional and clinical data of patients with tandem lesions and acute embolic stroke in the anterior circulation that underwent endovascular stroke treatment at our institution. Patients were selected if they had a CTA-proved vessel occlusion of the distal ICA or M1/2 segment and absence of early signs of advanced infarction (ASPECT score ≥ 6). The primary end point of this study was the proportion of patients with good clinical outcome (mRS-score ≤ 2) at 90-day-follow-up. A multivariate analysis (Random forest approach) was used to investigate the effect of several clinical and interventional factors on clinical outcome. Results: From January 2012 to February 2018, 41 patients (mean age 65.5 ± 10.2 years; female, n = 12) with tandem lesions in the anterior circulation (Carotid-T, n = 11; M1, n = 25; M2, n = 5) underwent endovascular treatment at our institution. Stenting of the extracranial ICA and successful recanalization of the occluded vessel segment (TICI 2b/3) was possible in all cases. A good clinical outcome at 90-days-follow-up (mRS ≤ 2) was documented in 25 of 38 patients (65.7%). The overall complication and mortality rate was 10% and 17%, respectively. In multivariate testing, a favourable clinical outcome on fol-low-up correlated with a younger age (< 70 years), a more peripheral intracranial vessel occlusion (M1/M2 versus Ca-rotid-T), and good cerebral collaterals (p < 0.05). Interven tional factors had no statistical effect on clinical outcome. Conclusion: Interventional treatment of acute stroke patients with tandem lesions is technically feasible and safe. A favourable outcome may be achieved in the majority of patients and is most probable in younger patients with peripheral intracranial occlusion and good cerebral collaterals.","PeriodicalId":311585,"journal":{"name":"International Archives of Vascular Medicine","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116210557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
