A special focus is placed on the practical use and benefits of the Risk Appetite Statement within the process of internationalization and MNE development of the both financial and non-financial sectors of economy of the US, European Union and Ukraine. The paper argues that the Risk Appetite Statement tool not only sets limits on risks, but also provides other important advantages for MNE in forming a business development strategy and implementing key projects. {"title":"THE THREE SEAS INITIATIVE AS AN ELEMENT OF A STABILIZATION SYSTEM IN EASTERN AND MIDDLE EUROPE. BETWEEN THE POLITICAL CONCEPTION ITSELF AND THE POLITICAL PRACTICE","authors":"P. The said Initiative aims at expanding the infrastructural, economic, energy-related as well as scientific and cultural cooperation among 12 states. The development of the abovementioned initiative seems to be vitally important for Ukraine as well as for the countries that are neighbors of the EU in terms of provisioning of their political and economic independence. Moreover, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation within the ranks of this initiative inevitably increases chances for the admission of Ukraine to the EU. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the major reasons for changing the priorities of economic cooperation between countries as well as to the search for effective ways of its development. The origins of the growing discrepancies in the pace of the economic development of our countries, which were predetermined already by different approaches to the development and implementation of national strategies, have been established. It was shown that development strategies of our countries pursue the same goal - strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy, but they use different ways of achieve it: while Ukraine chose the liberal Western approach, Vietnam follows the Asian communitarian model, which is based on the policy of regulating economic development, hidden autarky, tight control over financial resources used to create key industries. The successful development of Vietnamese economy was achieved through consequent use of a specific model of economic modernization. The leading role of the public sector as an organizing force of progressive development and a factor in restraining the destructive influence of exogenous factors is indicated. The place of modern Vietnam in the global economic system is determined. The protective and stimulating role of the ASEAN integration and the prospects of creating a \"large regional economy\" are analyzed, attention is focused on the mostly regional Asian priority of the country's participation in the international division of labor. The author analyzes key stages of, and major factors contributing to, the advancement of policy coordination and building up common policies in the fields mentioned. The author sees the integration these spheres as a ‘third track’ of the European integration, which follows the first two ones, i.e. the economic integration and launching the Common Foreign and Security Policy, and has the potential to become the next priority direction of the European integration process. The article describes the phenomenon of the ‘third track’ of the European integration and assesses major risks and challenges that may arise in the context of the further progress of the integration effort in this field. At present, it is the information and analytical activity that enables managers to make the right decisions in the face of modern, difficult to predict, crisis phenomena of today. Based on the abovementioned, it can be stated that it is the information and analytical processes that allow public authorities of different countries around the world and regional associations to make effective management decisions, predicting in advance the consequences of both decision and no decision. Analytics and information appear to be a new type of product, with universal economic properties, which are defined in unlimited reproduction, accumulation, use and at the same time a way to study phenomena / processes at both macro and micro levels. In scientific research, information analytics primarily performs the task of qualitative and meaningful transformation of primary information, functionally intersecting in this regard with scientific (production of new knowledge) and management (development of solutions, scenarios) activities. Information and analytical activity is interconnected with science through the information method of cognition and scientific analysis of reality, and with management - the applicable nature of analytics (solving specific information needs and problems of the customer). Information and analytical activity is a broader area of research. It includes the selection and systematization of facts on a particular issue, their evaluation, selection, interpretation, clear and thoughtful presentation in oral or written form. It is worth noting that the extraction of necessary materials, activity related to the acquisition, systematization, translation and distribution of books and documents are not included here. The article explores the prerequisites for the formation of NAFTA, reasons for revising the agreement and compares the\u0000differences between the previous and updated agreements, an impact of integration association on the socio-economic status, trade and investment activity of the participating countries, prospects for its development and analysis of its economic cooperation with Ukraine. The empirical analysis shows a significant relationship between the U.S. GDP and foreign trade with Mexico and Canada, unemployment and interest rates. Its results revealed that the U.S. trade with Canada had a positive impact on the U.S. GDP; at the same time the U.S. trade with Mexico had a negative impact on the U.S. GDP, which became the main argument for President Trump in his pressure on Mexico to revise the terms of the NAFTA agreement. The regression analysis also showed that there is an inverse relationship between GDP and interest rate in the United States from 1994 to 2018. It was determined that the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is not fundamentally different from the previous one, but it can create new opportunities, for example, for workers and farmers in the United States, and new difficulties for Canada and Mexico. This agreement tightens labor standards and protection of intellectual property rights, especially in Mexico, thus, probably decreasing the attractiveness of Mexican economy to foreign investors, that is likely to reduce the U.S. investment in Mexico. It covers both commercial (internal and external) and non-commercial risks, in particular, completion risk, risk of excess expenditure, operational risk, environmental risk, risk of insufficient revenues, supply risk, currency risk, inflation risk, interest rate risk and others. The author argues that non-commercial risks, including political or country risks, present even greater peril for an international project and offers a complex of protective legal measures which could be used for diminishing such risks in the long run. Each ethnic group has a special history of development, but, unfortunately, its history is not always accompanied only by successful victories. Some ethnic groups have been discriminated for a long period of existence, their culture and language have been disrespected and brutally destroyed. The traumatic legacy of the past has always had a profound imprint on the present and future of every nation. The memory of state’s tragic history, and, especially, the history that is connected with the oppression and intolerance of one ethnic group to another one, has hidden manifestations of separatism in its representatives. The desire to restore «justice» has already spread to many countries around the world and even to the most democratic West countries, that also suffer from separatist movements in their territory. Globalization only accelerates these processes and creates even greater schism in the consciousness of such ethnic groups.
