This qualitative case study aims to explore the forms of tantrums displayed by 6-year-old children, identify the factors contributing to these tantrums, and examine the efforts made by parents with permissive parenting styles to manage their children's tantrums. The research design involves descriptive qualitative methods, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation techniques for data collection. Data triangulation is applied to ensure the reliability and validity of the findings. The study reveals that tantrums exhibited by the children in the study include crying, hitting, kicking, screaming, and more. The factors leading to tantrums encompass unfulfilled desires, reprimands, neglect, and teasing. The parents' response to these tantrums involves always fulfilling the child's wishes, even when aggressive behaviour is displayed. Furthermore, parents refrain from providing clear explanations to correct negative behaviour. Sometimes, parents let the child continue their tantrum until it subsides without intervening. These findings highlight the presence and consequences of permissive parenting practices on children's emotional development and behavioural patterns.","PeriodicalId":310501,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education and Counseling (JECO)","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139350609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of research is quantitative with a pre-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population taken in this study was class 8B students, then the research sample was 6 students. This research instrument uses a learning saturation scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. In addition to the scale, decision making in this study used the normality test and SPSS 26-assisted T test. Based on the results of the study, 6 students had medium and high categories with details of 2 students having high scores and 4 having moderate scores. After being given the service, the 6 students experienced a decrease in score. This can be shown by the pretest score which totaled 344 with a mean of 57.3 then after being given group guidance services the problem-solving technique decreased with a total score of 231 with a mean of 38.5. In addition, based on the results of the sample t test, it is known that the sig. (2 tailed) is 0.001 meaning that 0.001 is less than <0.05, then Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected. So, it can be concluded that group guidance services with problem solving techniques are effective in preventing student learning saturation.","PeriodicalId":310501,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education and Counseling (JECO)","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139350571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The type of research used is research and development with research and development (R & D) Borg & Gall methods simplified by the Puslitjaknov Team (2008) which consists of conducting product analysis to be developed, developing initial products, expert validation and revision, trial small-scale field trials and revisions, large-scale field trials and final products. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling by using purposive sampling. The number of samples that will be involved in this study are 20 students. This research is about product development in the form of a guidebook contains information about group counseling using the token economy approach in order to improve student engagement behavior. To evaluate the product to be made, the researcher uses an evaluation model of alpha test and beta test. By asking material and media experts to assess the feasibility of the product as a way to evaluate, this is called an alpha test. The beta test is a form of product feasibility test based on the prospective user's assessment of the product being developed. After the product was tested for feasibility by material and media experts, then after being tested by students, whether the product developed was feasible or not, to get the results the researcher analyzed the data that had been obtained using the eligibility criteria according to Arikunto (2009). In the product feasibility test, it was found that the results of the material expert test were 75,72%, the media expert test results were 74,29% and the user response test results were 78,58%. If there are family members who do not comply with these rules, the family structure will change both in terms of roles, experiences, and identities so that it will cause problems in the family. Problems that arise both from outside and from within the family itself can damage the family system.
