And, I am entirely convinced that its success is due in great part to women’s committed political efforts.1 On July 2, great numbers of women participated in the most diverse ways: as polling booth officials, party representatives at polling booths, electoral observers, electoral officials and coun cilors in all levels of electoral councils and, of course, as candidates and voters (we might note, however, that we did take one step backward in that no woman ran for president in this race). This could lead us to believe —erro neously— that, in addition to other de m ocratic objectives reached, im portant advances had been made with regard to gender equality in political participation. This would be even more the case if we take into consideration the November 22, 1996 electoral reform which stipulated that:

Besides, as the import\u0000market grows larger, the ratio of the import tariff\u0000to the price also raises; thus, the importing\u0000country uses strategic trade policy to gain at the\u0000expense of the exporting country.\u0000Under non-zero correlation between the markets, the\u0000exporter chooses export tax for positively\u0000correlated markets and sticks to the free trade\u0000policy otherwise (with importer setting a non-zero\u0000import tariff in both cases). Export tax is to\u0000decrease welfare volatility of the exporter in case\u0000of positive correlated markets, whereas negative\u0000correlation provides natural diversification; hence,\u0000exporting country chooses free trade.\u0000The book may be useful for both practitioners and\u0000researchers in the field of international trade.
