The episode of Jesus walking on water: an exegetical interpretation of the text of John 6.16-21 ABSTRACT: This article presents an exegetical interpretation of the text of John 6:16-21. That is the episode which Jesus walks on the waters. This essay analyzes the contexts (social, historical, literary, grammatical) which this pericope is inserted, for in this way approach to the most plausible understanding that the original author has attempted with his text. Discute sobre o desafio da igreja em proclamar as Escrituras como Palavra de Deus, em uma época em que se “usa” textos como recurso e escritos em instrumentos para propósitos e interesses pessoais. Para isso, discute a tarefa do pregador com base na pregação expositiva; reflete sobre o sentido do texto bíblico em sua especificidade de ser a ‘Palavra de Deus’ em sua autoria; produz uma reflexão sobre o ato de ler também na igreja sob o discurso pós-moderno; apresenta autores como Derrida, Ricoeur e Fish como hermeneutas pós-modernos e discute além dos riscos de produzir os sentidos do texto para os propósitos do pregador, desvirtua o papel das escrituras como verdade divina. A pergunta que se pretende responder neste artigo é a seguinte: sob quais riscos a pregação evangélica da “igreja deste tempo” atravessa, na medida em que invertem o lugar da Bíblia, construindo sentidos que atendam a seus propósitos pessoais? The interpretation of the Bible: reflection on preaching in evangelical churches in post-modernity ABSTRACT: This article deals with the influence of postmodern thinking on the interpretation of the Bible, cutting out the investigation of preaching in evangelical churches in liquid times. Discuss the challenge of the church to proclaim the Scriptures as the Word of God, at a time when texts are used as a resource and written on instruments for personal purposes and interests. For this purpose, the article discusses the preacher's task based on expository preaching; reflects on the meaning of the biblical text as the ‘Word of God’ in its authorship; produces a reflection on the act of reading also in the church under the post-modern discourse; it presents authors such as Derrida, Ricoeur and Fish as postmodern hermeneuts and discusses beyond the risks of producing the meanings of the text for the purposes of the preacher, distorts the role of the scriptures as divine truth. The question that we intend to answer in this article is the following: under what risks does the evangelical preaching of the “church of this time” cross, insofar as they invert the place of the Bible, constructing meanings that meet their personal purposes? And that as for his praxis, the colossal preacher was a confessed Baptist, Orthodox and of Puritan ethics, as well as Evangelical in his pursuit and method.  Such insignia were essentially responsible for the unusual utility of such a holy minister of Christ. Trotman é assim conhecido por ter reconfigurado a dinâmica de discipulado na segunda metade do século XX entre os protestantes evangélicos norte-americanos. Deve-se a ele a introdução do conceito de acompanhamento evangelístico (follow-up), isto é, o cuidado e treinamento dispensados por um cristão mais experiente ao novo convertido até que este seja capaz de reproduzir-se espiritualmente, fazendo outros discípulos. A influência de Trotman chegou ao Brasil por diversos caminhos, diretos e indiretos. Este artigo busca rastrear esses caminhos, desde sua vinda ao país em 1952 até seus influxos em recentes movimentos de discipulado. Dawson Trotman, the “father” of the modern discipleship movement: paths of his influence in Brazil ABSTRACT: This article discusses the tracks of Dawson Trotman’s influence, frequently referred as the “father” of the Modern Movement of Discipleship. Trotman received this title because he has remodeled the dynamic of discipleship among North American evangelicals in the second half of the 21st Century. He did that by introducing the concept of follow-up, through which a mature Christian cares for a new convert until he is able to reproduce spiritually, making other disciples. That influence came to Brazil through different ways, direct and indirect. This article aims to delineate these ways, since his arrival in Brazil in 1952 to the recent Multiplying Church Movement. In his speech, he clarifies that education is a divine gift given to humanity in order to keep it free. Furthermore, he proposes that it plays a key role in the social dissemination of knowledge. O livro de Jó, como parte da literatura bíblica sapiencial, é repleto de diálogos de sabedoria. Ocorre entre Deus e Satanás, entre quatro amigos e Jó, mas também, em menor escala, entre Jó e sua mulher. Apesar de ser o menor diálogo do livro e um dos menores das escrituras, pois se resume a uma curta sentença, é repleto de sabedoria, ou falta dela. A mulher de Jó foi muito injustiçada ao longo da história, não pela oração proferida, mas pelo verbo usado ao construir sua fala: amaldiçoa. Convenhamos que não é sinal de sabedoria, mesmo na época patriarcal, mandar alguém amaldiçoar a Deus. Mas será que ela de fato o aconselhou com tremenda falta de sabedoria? Os intérpretes e tradutores são praticamente unânimes em concordar com esta assertiva. Isso mostra que é necessário lançar um pouco de luz sobre o tema olhando por outra ótica – o contexto imediato. Embora a mulher não desempenhasse um papel reconhecido em Israel no campo da sabedoria, certamente desempenhava no cuidado do lar e na educação dos filhos, principalmente em se tratando da mulher daquele homem cheio de bens, funcionários, riquezas e sabedoria. Deus tirou praticamente tudo de Jó, mas deixou-lhe a esposa para que o auxiliasse a suportar todo o sofrimento que viria em razão dos ataques de Satanás. Jó não sucumbiu justamente por que sua sábia esposa estava ao seu lado do começo ao fim, tendo seu papel reconhecido por ele e por Deus na conclusão da obra literária. Sozinho ele não aguentaria! The book of Job, as part of the wisdom biblical literature, is full of wisdom dialogues. Occurs between God and Satan, four friends and Job, and also to a lesser extent, between Job and his wife. Despite being the smallest of the book dialogue and one of the smallest of the scriptures, it comes down to a short sentence, is full of wisdom, or lack thereof. Nesse sentido, o objetivo visa discutir sobre a instrumentalização dos pressupostos no processo de construção curricular e a maneira como eles podem ser aplicados ao processo da formação humana. Para que tal finalidade seja concretizada, a pesquisa segue uma abordagem qualitativa do tipo bibliográfica e descritiva. A intenção é apresentar argumentos que versem sobre os pressupostos da cosmovisão cristã a serem aplicados na formação humana, por intermédio do processo ensino e aprendizagem a ser concretizado na proposta curricular da instituição educativa quer seja de natureza formal e ou informal. A pergunta norteadora no plano da argumentação investiga de que maneira os pressupostos da cosmovisão cristã bíblica podem ser aplicados ao currículo e como eles serão materializados no contexto do ensino e da aprendizagem. Considera-se que a proposta curricular projeta a identidade da formação pretendida, por isso que se defende a necessidade de trabalhar com os pressupostos da cosmovisão bíblica em sua composição, porque eles são essenciais na constituição identitária do seu público-alvo. CURRICULAR PROPOSAL OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION UNDER DE OPTICS OF BIBLICAL COSMOVISION ABSTRACT: The proposal to be pursued in the investigation seeks to explain the relation that can be implemented between the curricular proposal and the biblical cosmovision in the context of Christian Education. In this sense, the aim is to discuss the instrumentalization of assumptions in the process of curricular construction and the way in which they can be applied to the process of human formation. For this purpose to be achieved the research follows a qualitative approach of the bibliographic and descriptive type. The intention is to present arguments that deal with the assumptions of the Christian cosmovision to be applied in human formation, through the teaching and learning process to be implemented in the curricular proposal of the educational institution, whether formal or informal. The guiding question, in terms of argumentation, investigates how the assumptions of the biblical Christian cosmovision can be applied to the curriculum and how they will be materialized in the context of teaching and learning. It is considered that the curricular proposal projects the identity of the intended training, which is why the need to work with the assumptions of the biblical cosmovision in its composition is defended, because they are essential in the identity constitution of its target audience. Por que grandes profetas do Senhor sentiram-se sozinhos? O que causa a depressão? São questões intrigantes que podem causar estranheza ao leitor das Escrituras Sagradas, afinal, como alguém chamado para levar a Palavra de Deus poderia entrar em depressão, ou sentir-se solitário? No entanto, Elias, Miqueias e Jeremias atravessaram situações que os levaram a pedir a morte. Mas, que sentimento os levou a isso? Why did great prophets of the Lord feel alone? What causes depression? These are intriguing questions that can cause surprise to the reader of the Holy Scriptures, after all, how could someone called to carry the Word of God go into depression, or feel lonely? However, Elias, Micah and Jeremiah went through situations that led them to ask for death. But, what feeling led them to this? They are intriguing, extensive and complex questions that cannot be exhausted in a short time, but it becomes feasible to draw general lines on each proposed theme, highlighting some of the main points regarding each of these prophets based on the Holy Scriptures and on the interpretation from some authors who were able to corroborate in the understanding of the life of the prophets contained in the Old Testament. A questão principal é se a existência e experiência do sofrimento e do mal torna logicamente impossível a existência de Deus. A hipótese levantada é que não há incompatibilidade lógica necessária entre a existência do sofrimento e do mal e a existência de Deus. Para verificar-se a hipótese, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica, cotejando a questão através de um meio que transita do geral para o particular. Expõe-se uma síntese do pensamento de Agostinho, que propõe que o mal é a privação de uma perfeição que a substância deveria ter, não uma realidade positiva. Ademais, apresenta-se uma síntese do princípio lógico da não contradição e a perspectiva apologética do problema, que questiona como aceitar a existência de um Deus todo-poderoso e amoroso que permite o mal e o sofrimento no mundo. Após os devidos questionamentos, conclui-se que não há contradição lógica na existência do mal e a existência de Deus, bem como que as premissas que apontam a suposta existência de contradição não são necessariamente verdadeiras. Ademais, conclui-se que Deus permite a existência do mal para permitir o (necessário) livre-arbítrio humano e que o mal também serve como um meio para o crescimento moral e espiritual. Palavras-chave: Problema do mal. Apologética. Lógica. DOES THE EXPERIENCE OF SUFFERING AND EVIL IN THE WORLD DENY THE EXISTENCE OF GOD? ABSTRACT: The text deals with the problem of evil in relation to the existence of God. The main question is whether the existence and experience of suffering and evil makes the existence of God logically impossible. The hypothesis raised is that there is no necessary logical incompatibility between the existence of suffering and evil and the existence of God. In order to verify the hypothesis, a bibliographical research was carried out, comparing the question through a means that transits from the general to the particular. A synthesis of Augustine's thought is presented, which proposes that evil is the deprivation of a perfection that the substance should have, not a positive reality. Furthermore, a synthesis of the logical principle of non-contradiction and the apologetic perspective of the problem is presented, which questions how to accept the existence of an all-powerful and loving God who allows evil and suffering in the world. After due questioning, it is concluded that there is no logical contradiction in the existence of evil and the existence of God, as well as that the premises that point to the supposed existence of contradiction are not necessarily true. Furthermore, it is concluded that God allows the existence of evil to allow the (necessary) human free will and that evil also serves as a means for moral and spiritual growth.
