We aim to implement a system for cognitive rehabilitation based on daily routines. For instance, we previously reported the benefits of cognitive rehabilitation through cooking. In this paper, we focus on cognitive rehabilitation based on cleaning tasks, which are as important as cooking for daily living. We tested the system with the help of a patient from the Osaka Prefecture Self-Reliance Center for People with Disabilities on November 9, 16 and 30, 2017. We propose and test a system that detects some cleaning tools and a human skeleton to assess the patients' behavior while cleaning, and rehabilitation is guided using indoor navigation. Object recognition allowed to integrate information about the cleaning tools to determine different cleaning behaviors. In addition, we tracked the patient to determine her state from a library of five states for the recognized skeleton in different cleaning areas. By detecting the cleaning tools and person's state, we estimated the cleaning behavior. As state estimation may retrieve a high rate of misidentification of the person's state, we implemented an error correction algorithm for estimating the cleaning behavior based on previous states, thus improving the system accuracy. We evaluated the university environment before testing the system, and determined the accuracy of both object recognition and person's state for estimating the cleaning behavior.","PeriodicalId":308127,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121484535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we proposed an surface EMG signal processing method for a real-time display that can easily understand muscle activity during a pedaling motion. We confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method using EMG data recorded form three subjects, during pedaling exercise for 3 minutes. As a result of evaluating by the error reduction ratio of the proposed method for the conventional method, the average value of all subjects was 77.4%.","PeriodicalId":308127,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131058660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the aim of this paper is to evaluate the capability of the Quarter-Sweep Successive Over Relaxation (QSSOR) iterative methods in solving this problem. The finite difference discretization scheme is used to formulate the Poisson approximation equation. The concept and implementation of the proposed methods are presented. Finally, the numerical experimentations showed that QSSOR method has the best performance in blending time and number of iterations while generating the same quality of images compared to the Full-Sweep SOR (FSSOR) and Half-Sweep SOR (HSSOR).","PeriodicalId":308127,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130612218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researches are introducing new methods to obtain the highest accuracy compared to the expert scored hypnograms through classification of the electroencephalogram (EEG). Because of limitations when using the single information source this article combines the outcomes of classifiers obtained from different sources. By extracting 13 features from two channels of EEG signal and using these features for learning and testing linear discriminant analysis classifier, we reached accuracy of 71.93% for the Fpz-Cz channel and 6S.33% for the Pz-Oz channel. In the last step, Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence is used for classifier fusion and combining the outputs derived from the classification of two EEG channels, the classification accuracy increased by 88.23%.","PeriodicalId":308127,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134508422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By understanding the model variation and the features of each existing traffic model that serve different purposes in transportation management, a more suitable, adaptable and updatable traffic modelling process can be planned and executed to cope with the expanding transportation network and urban intelligent mobility urges. The developed model acts as a medium to accommodate traffic data from intersections and simulate the traffic scenario for further traffic network analysis and control actions. Computational intelligent plays a crucial role to facilitate the modelling and control actions that aims to enhance network performance and transportation optimisation. While transportation network is usually prompted to changes and uncertainties, adaptive modelling framework enhancement is proposed in this work to handle the traffic dynamics in order to optimise network performance.","PeriodicalId":308127,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132404513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A dynamic modeling technique is proposed using Q-learning (QL) algorithm to online observe and learn the inflow-outflow traffic behaviors and extract the model parameters to update the evaluation model used in the fitness function of genetic algorithm (GA). The proposed GA with dynamic modeling is known as dyna-GA. Dyna-GA is then integrated into a hierarchical-based multi-agent traffic signal control system which consists of two layers. The lower-layer consists of several local agents that have autonomy in controlling their local intersection, whereas the upper-layer consists of one supervisory agent that has jurisdiction on all the local agents. The supervisory agent has the superiority in overwriting the local control decision if conflict occurred. The robustness of the proposed dyna-GA under several traffic scenarios is tested using a simulated arterial traffic network. The simulation results show the proposed dyna-GA has better performances in minimizing travel delay as compared to the classical GA which does not have the dynamic model.","PeriodicalId":308127,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126769481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we investigated a MIMO-NOMA based network code, exclusive-OR (XOR) scheme which applies physical layer network coding (PNC) in two-way relay networks to reduce the transmission time slots. The Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) modulation technique is selected to apply to enable the data source transmitting with the carrier wave. In this paper, convolutional codes and the Soft Decision Viterbi algorithm is used to encode and decode the information bits. The coded MIMO-NOMA gives the less bit error rate compared to coded NOMA alone. Moreover, we have analyzed the spectral efficiency and energy efficiency in NOMA and MIMO-NOMA. The sum capacity and transmission rate are also compared in NOMA and MIMO-NOMA scheme. The simulation results show that MIMO-NOMA has higher spectral efficiency and faster transmission rate than NOMA scheme. Finally, the user fairness of MIMO-NOMA has been evaluated.","PeriodicalId":308127,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126900375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
