This causes network link congestions, delayed cloud services and increases in public cloud data-out charges. Simulations have demonstrated that deploying our approach, i-Cloud, as the core mechanism of cloud cache could alleviate these problems up to 17.24% byte-hit and cost-saving, 17.96% delay-saving and 29.33% cache hit outperforming the other well-known approaches. A main finding was that there is no significant performance difference between i-Cloud learning single-user-community patterns and i-Cloud learning cross-user-community patterns of comparable sizes.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130621863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed architecture is based on the Hardware/Software (HW/SW) design. To achieve the efficient architecture, the systolic architecture is applied to MGS-QRD and then the conventional QR triangular array of (2m2+2m+1) cells onto a linear architecture of m+1 cell is employed to reduce the number of required QR processors. The reduced cells are constructed with a number of basic processing elements such as multipliers and adders etc. The basic elements are constructed by HW architectures. The SW of PowerPC core is used to control to achieve the QR decomposition. In this paper, utilization resource and operation performance in term of equivalent gates and operating cycles are shown.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130776716","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Converter is controlled the injection voltage by using voltage regulations without transformer connected to the power system. Low-pass filter is used to filter harmonics voltage signal and reduce voltage signal distortion. Simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed DVR that the output voltage waveform of three-level diode-clamped converter has a signal distortion less than output voltage waveform of original two-level converter. The experimental results also showed that the DVR can increase the system efficiency and be able to compensate the voltage more than 0.1 second.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129497134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The popular method for developing recommender system is Collaborative Filtering. This method will search for other users in the systems that are interested by the same or similar items. With this method, users need not to know each other. The system will then suggest choices of other users that might be interested by the current user. However this technique is not work well with scarce data. This problem is known as the sparsity problem. Therefore, we propose to modify Collaborative Filtering using frequent itemsets by imputing the missing value. According to experimental results, the proposed method can properly fill up the missing values and improve the accuracy of recommendations to users with MAE of 0.55 with the neighborhood size of 30.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132214162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to unstable system, balancing control of a bicycle robot or unmanned vehicle system desires to enforce the system stabilization. Using gyroscopic effect principle for balancing control, system is designed by applying the principle of mechanical fly wheels to produce the torque effort. Mechanical fly wheel is composed of a couple of two rigid mechanical fly wheels, and rotated about fixed reference axis that produces the angular momentum. When angle of rotated fly wheels are changed according to lean angle error, the precession torque is produced to compensating lean angle of bicycle robot dynamically. Dynamic equation of motion is derived from Lagrange's equation in according to both balancing and steering control methods. To controlling the desired lean angle, an error derived from the lean angle deviation is controlled proportionally to angular rotation of fly wheels by using PD controller. Simulation study is verified to finding the relationships of disc angular velocity and angle of rotated disc in different angular momentum. From simulation results, torque can be produced by mechanical fly wheels to compensating robot balancing control and planed for experiment for performance validation in the next step.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132508523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The multiplexed bus is needed for HIPS (Host-based Intrusion Prevention System) in 4G mobile communications. Because an FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) has been used for the multiplexed bus, there is a problem where it doesn't work at over 1 GHz. Then, the use of the FPGA leads to increase in power consumption. In this work, by using 180 nm C-MOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) technology, waved-shift registers necessary for the multiplexed bus are developed. Furthermore, the comparative evaluations of the waved-shift registers are executed by using the conventional shift register that operates at 2GHz. As a result, the waved-shift registers are revealed to have surpassed all the points of throughput, power consumption and area.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115343342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes image processing based on Active Contour Model and data mining for analyzing the ratio of teeth's gap area. In addition, the experiment relates to medical knowledge so as to evaluate the treatment. The results show that the ratio of teeth's gap area in a case of extraction is 20 ± 5 and tooth extraction decision in expert's way is 78 ± 7%. In a case of no extraction, the ratio of teeth's gap area is 40 ± 4.5 and tooth extraction decision in expert's way is 60 ± 6%. Therefore, if the teeth's gap area between the deciduous teeth and the permanent teeth is small, then an occasion of the tooth extraction will be higher. The decision to retain or extract a questionable tooth is one that occurs frequently in dental practice. There are many factors to consider when making this decision. Some cases are very straightforward while others fall into an unclear area of decision-making. This proposed method creates the decision model supported for the dental tooth extraction using J48 tree, and the accuracy is approximately at 98%.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123979400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method introduces short-time Fourier transform (STFT) to analyze the frequency characteristic of sensor response. The response of a gas sensor when exposed to an odor in ambient air, which is not in a closed system such as a chamber or sample headspace, is usually fluctuating due to odor concentration change caused by wind. The feature vectors of odor samples are created by using properly-selected frequency components. The results of principal component analysis (PCA) to the feature vectors indicate that the proposed feature extraction method can enhance the odor classification performance of electronic nose when used for measuring odors in ambient air.","PeriodicalId":306512,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124216133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
