This impact of death anxiety is often triggered by severe disease or losing someone close. The outbreak of Novel Coronavirus Disease has also affected patients mentally as well as physically. Our study aims to investigate the prevalence of death anxiety among hospitalized patients with COVID-19 and the related factors of this anxiety during the current pandemic. Materials and Methods: We conducted a study among 283 adult participants to determine their anxiety and depression levels after being hospitalized due to COVID-19 infection by using the Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and Templer Death Anxiety Scale (DAS). Results: Death anxiety was significantly higher in females and in patients with prior psychiatric disorders. A positive correlation was found between death anxiety and the risk of anxiety (p<0.001 and r=0.472) and depression (p<0.001 and r=0.344). The risk of anxiety and depression was found to increase with DAS scores. Death anxiety was found to be common and associated with three significant personality traits: conscientiousness, extraversion, and emotional stability. Conclusion: Hospitalized patients with COVID-19 should be closely monitored regarding death anxiety, and awareness should be raised regarding the mental impacts of severe diseases on patients, and these impacts should be identified more often. A professional support system of a psychological call or online guidance should be constituted to identify the affected groups that are vulnerable to mental impacts. © 2022 by the Author(s).

Aims This study was planned to determine the\u0000knowledge and awareness levels of physicians working in family health\u0000centres about diabetic neuropathy and their approach to diabetic\u0000neuropathy. Methodology Our study is a cross-sectional descriptive study\u0000conducted in 111 family health centres in Denizli. The data were\u0000obtained by face to face questionnaire method. Results Of the 219 people\u0000participating in the study, 70.8% (n = 155) were male and 6.8% (n =\u000015) were family medicine specialists. 52.5% (n = 115) of the\u0000participants allocated 6-10 minutes of examination time to diabetes\u0000mellitus patients, 77.6% (n = 170) did not receive diabetic neuropathy\u0000training after graduation, and 44.3% (n = 97) ) had not previously\u0000diagnosed any patient with diabetic neuropathy. 74.4% of the\u0000participants (n = 163) stated that they did not use any diabetic\u0000neuropathy diagnosis and screening tests in their daily practice. 31%\u0000(n = 68) of the participants stated that their level of knowledge on\u0000diabetic neuropathy was either poor or very poor. 45.7% of the\u0000participants (n = 100) thought diabetic neuropathy screening, diagnosis,\u0000treatment and follow-up could be made in primary care. 89.5% (n = 196)\u0000of the participants stated that they needed training on diabetic\u0000neuropathy. Those who rely on their knowledge and clinical experience in\u0000diagnosing, monitoring and treating diabetic neuropathy were 44.3% of\u0000the participants (n = 97). Conclusion Although diabetic neuropathy is\u0000one of the most critical complications of diabetes mellitus, there is a\u0000severe insufficiency in postgraduate education in primary health care\u0000services. Simple tests and methods for physicians working in primary\u0000care should be included in the daily polyclinic routine.
