Derivative approximations that satisfy the summation by parts property and the boundary conditions are utilized using a penalty technique, simultaneous approximation terms, to guarantee the summation by parts property of the system. Time-stability is proven using the energy method and the finite difference methods based on this theory, which can establish the scheme that has incomparable advantages for simulating geometric discontinuity or complex media. The results show that the overlapping grid method of SBP-SAT methodology has better data transmission on the boundary and higher overall stability of the system.","PeriodicalId":304940,"journal":{"name":"2019 Symposium on Piezoelectrcity,Acoustic Waves and Device Applications (SPAWDA)","volume":"155 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116596246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It takes a lot of time (hours or even longer) to calculate the wave field by numerical algorithm, which cannot meet the needs of real-time processing of logging data. In order to solve the problem, the method of steepest descent and reciprocity are used to obtain the analytic solution of the wave field in the borehole stimulated by the reflected wave field. The waves radiated by a monopole or a dipole acoustic source in a borehole is first formulated by ignoring the reflector, by applying the boundary conditions at borehole wall. These radiated waves are approximated by the steepest descent path method, which is quite exact when the waves travel far from the borehole. These waves are then reflected back by the reflector. The reflection waves, including P, SV and/or SH waves, are taken as radiated from image sources. Finally the waves arriving an array of receivers in the borehole are obtained by applying reciprocity relations. The analytical waveforms agree well with those by three dimensional finite difference time domain method.","PeriodicalId":304940,"journal":{"name":"2019 Symposium on Piezoelectrcity,Acoustic Waves and Device Applications (SPAWDA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129879248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Addressing such an issue, HVI-induced damage in space structures is localized using in-situ acoustic emission (AE). However, conventional AE localization techniques in the stiffened curved structures require either the knowledge of the direction dependent velocity profile or a dense array of sensors, due to the attenuation and anisotropic-like propagation of AE signals. In this work, a new approach of area localization is proposed to locate the HVI-induced acoustic source in large-scale anisotropic-like plates with a sparse array of sensors, and without knowing the direction dependent velocity profile in the plate. On this basis, the impact spot can be precisely located.","PeriodicalId":304940,"journal":{"name":"2019 Symposium on Piezoelectrcity,Acoustic Waves and Device Applications (SPAWDA)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125908308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in most of these works focuses were placed on vibrations varying only in two directions including thickness direction, while the effect of another direction like length or width direction was normally neglected. Besides, researchers often model quartz resonators as fully electroded plates because of the resultant simplicity. Since a real device is finite in all directions and only centrally electroded, results obtained in those papers can’t offer quantitative information of vibrations with enough accuracy. In this paper, a theoretical analysis of a rectangular trapped-energy resonator of AT-cut quartz is studied using Ritz method associated with the variational formulation of Mindlin’s first order equations. Frequency spectra and mode shapes of a real-scaled trapped-energy resonator, which is finite in all directions, are obtained with the consideration of mode couplings among thickness-shear mode, thickness-twist mode and flexural mode. Results show the existence of energy trapping and coupling phenomenon and are helpful for thorough and accurate understanding of quartz resonators’ vibrations.","PeriodicalId":304940,"journal":{"name":"2019 Symposium on Piezoelectrcity,Acoustic Waves and Device Applications (SPAWDA)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126919432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An ultra-wideband band-pass filter circuit is designed based on the filtering approach of the band-pass filter circuit, which is composed of several second-order infinite gain multiple feedback band-pass filters in parallel. The bandwidth of the new filter can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of filters and the fluctuations in the pass-band can also be modified by changing the center frequency of adjacent filters in parallel. Results of simulation and experiments show that the circuit proposed in this paper does have a wide pass-band and signals within the pass-band can be filtered effectively.","PeriodicalId":304940,"journal":{"name":"2019 Symposium on Piezoelectrcity,Acoustic Waves and Device Applications (SPAWDA)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132028533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The diameter is 280 $mu$m and is similar to the dimension of solder joints used in practical electronic devices. Such a microscale for solder joints is rarely investigated due to the preparation challenges especially for the investigations regarding constitutive behaviour. Thanks to the small diameter, the applied electric current density for the solder joints can be up to 8000 A/cm2, which is relatively unexplored to date in the reported literature. In the present study, the uniaxial tensile force was measured with the increasing displacement for different electric current densities to address the effect of electric current on the mechanical properties of SAC305 solder joints. A closed relationship between current density and ultimate tensile stress was apparently observed according to the experimental results. In addition, when the fracture occurs in the solder joint, the elongation of the specimen was also collected and analyzed. Compared with previous experimental study, the solder micro-joints own much better tensile properties than the solder joints with larger diameters especially under a high current density. As an interesting phenomenon, an oscillation was observed only for the applied force-displacement responses subjected to the current density of 8000 A/cm2. This was explained from the thermo-mechanical point of view but remains to be elucidated in further investigations.","PeriodicalId":304940,"journal":{"name":"2019 Symposium on Piezoelectrcity,Acoustic Waves and Device Applications (SPAWDA)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114466914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of YCOB crystal annealed at high temperature of 1100°C and low atmosphere pressure of 2 Pa for 24 h were reported. Comparing to the pristine YCOB crystal, the relative dielectric permittivity $(varepsilon _{22}/varepsilon _{0})$ slightly increased after annealing, while the piezoelectric coefficient (d26) got decreased, with a variation of $lt 7%$. The chemical bonding for the annealed YCOB was studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, from which the variations of binding energies of B, Ca, and Y decreased below 0.2 eV, indicating the stable electronic structure of YCOB crystal. The vacancy formation energies for Y, Ca, O, and B atoms in YCOB crystal were also analyzed via first principle calculations. The O atom was found to possess the lowest vacancy formation energy, thus easier to evaporate during critical annealing and easier to compensate than other atoms. The vacancy defects are believed to be the main factor dominant the variations of dielectric and piezoelectric properties.","PeriodicalId":304940,"journal":{"name":"2019 Symposium on Piezoelectrcity,Acoustic Waves and Device Applications (SPAWDA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114874872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
