A sodium chloride solution has been used as a pollutant forming the conduction band. The solution concentration has been changed by using five variations of salt mass which was dissolved into 250 ml of water. The salt mass variation is proportional to its related mole equivalent of sodium chloride solution concentration. The experiment results indicate that the position of the conduction band on the insulator surface affects the surface resistivity. The largest resistivity occurs when the conduction band is located near the ground side, whereas the smallest one occurs when the band is in the middle between the ground side and the HV side. The value of the surface resistance for the band located on the HV side is between that near the ground side and that in the middle location. The level of the leakage current on the glass surface rises with the increase in the applied AC voltage. The leakage current increase is relatively linear up to around 20 kV, beyond which the leakage current starts to decrease. This decrease is related to the formation of dry bands which will increase the overall resistance of the glass insulator surface. The largest power and annual energy losses being caused by the leakage current are found when the conduction band is located in the middle part of the surface, whereas the smallest ones are obtained when the conduction band is located on the ground side. The power and annual energy losses increase even greater when the applied voltage is higher.","PeriodicalId":304532,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering (ICEEIE)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128065035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents the image tracking surveillance system which can be used to monitor and care for infants and young children. We used a grayscale image from 0 to 255. The proposed algorithm is Binary Thresholding where each pixel of the image is compared with the threshold value. We set the threshold to black in order to reduce the complexity of image information. Thus, the image can be established by background subtraction method. The tracking mechanism will start using temporal difference and object segmentation that carries out of dynamic Image Tracing. If the tracking object is beyond the warning range so the system will take the initiative to issue a warning. The future can be through the cloud server for a huge amount of image analysis, and establish to the multi-user remote monitoring function.","PeriodicalId":304532,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering (ICEEIE)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124370264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, author will explain how this training device can be used in conducting experiment related to power system and the information related to the device. In this paper, author also proposed to use this training device for Project-Based Learning as it is easy to handle for hands-on teaching and learning method. Project-based Learning (PBL) PBL is defined as a teaching method where students gain knowledge and skills by working on a project, complex questions or challenge for an extended period. PBL is different compared to traditional teaching method where the concept is teacher-centered while PBL is student-centered. In this course, students need to be involved in order to complete the task, and given problems or questions. PBL is believe to be the best teaching and learning method as it combines standard-based curriculum with empowering students to solve real scenarios challenge; in other word, PBL will start with giving students complex question, problems or challenge rather than with exposition of knowledge. Author believed that by implementing this teaching method alongside the usage of this device would lead to a more exciting and deeper understanding about power system that will give many benefits to the students. In this paper, few cases on power system conducted using this device will be explained.","PeriodicalId":304532,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering (ICEEIE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131295320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It usually is performed from several frames to distinguish foreground from the background. In this paper we developed a simple extraction method which was suitable for real time application. First, we performed moving object detection by using frames subtraction. This yielded edge label in the motion area. This edge label couldn't extract the whole moving object. To extract the whole moving object, we performed filling operation followed by intersection and union operation to fill the area within the label. The experimental result, our system can extract the moving object in computation time of 116–296 ms, video rate of 15 frames per second (fps) and image frame size of 640×480 pixels, which is suitable for real time application.","PeriodicalId":304532,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering (ICEEIE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123301482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An economic design of such a system for 20-year lifetime requires optimal unit sizing as well as investment, operation and maintenance costs. However power generation by this system varies from one day to another due to irregular natures of wind speed and solar irradiation. Therefore battery storage is needed to integrate into this system if all the electrical appliances are desired to uninterruptedly feed and this requires to efficiently manage battery operation. Besides, load shifting can be applied to such a system through controllable loads in order to balance generation and consumption at each time interval as much as possible. One way to balance generation and consumption in a specified period is possible to solve a discrete optimization problem defined as minimization of daily cost with few constraints for optimal time slots. In this study, minimization of total cost for such system is achieved by the real-coded genetic algorithms technique from various aspects. The results obtained are meaningful and encouraging to design and operate such a low cost system.","PeriodicalId":304532,"journal":{"name":"2017 5th International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering (ICEEIE)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132097120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
