The robotic rehabilitation is a promissed field in this context improving the effectiveness of the treatment. Many researches have focused on developing human-robot interaction control to ensure user safety and therapy efficiency, but the validation of these controllers often requires contact between humans and robots, which involves cost, time and risk of accidents. This work aims to present a computational model of an ideal active orthosis used to assist the knee movement as a tool for test and validate human-robot interaction controls. Three controllers were applied to make the orthosis move the knee tracking the desired trajectory: a PID controller, an Inverse Dynamics-Based controller, and a Feedback-Feedforward Controller. The model proved to be useful and the controller with the best performance was the Feedback-Feedforward one.","PeriodicalId":303991,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mechatronics Engineering","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123322201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we simulate it by implementing the nonlinear Schrödinger equation using the Split-Step Fourier method in some of its approaches. Then, we compare their running time, algorithm complexity and accuracy regarding energy conservation of the optical pulse. We note that the method is simple to implement and presents good results of energy conservation, besides low temporal cost. We observe a greater precision for the symmetrized approach, although its running time can be up to 126% higher than the other approaches, depending on the parameters set. We conclude that the time window must be adjusted for each length of propagation in the fiber, so that the error regarding energy conservation during propagation can be reduced.","PeriodicalId":303991,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mechatronics Engineering","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123705409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the open source libraries OpenCV and libfreenect, image data are translated and used for communicating Raspberry Pi embedded Linux system with PIC microcontroller board for peripheral devices controlling. A LED is triggered according to the hand gesture representing the corresponding number. Data are stored in a PHP Apache server running locally on Raspberry Pi. The proposed system can be used as a multifunctional tool in areas such as learning process, post-traumatic rehabilitation and visual and motor cognition time. The SBN sample was synthesized by solid-state reaction, and the X-ray diffraction method (XRD) was used for the structural characterization of the materials analyzed in this study. Thermal stability of the samples was measured experimentally by studying the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf ) the results confirm that the individual additions of 15 wt% of Bi2O3 or La2O3 improved the thermostability of the composites. The Hakki-Coleman method was used to obtain the dielectric properties in the microwave range, and it is possible to observe that the dielectric permittivity of the composites increased, while their loss tangents decreased. The numerical simulation demonstrated the functioning of the materials as dielectric resonating antennas (DRA), with a reflection coefficient below -10 dB in all samples.","PeriodicalId":303991,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Mechatronics Engineering","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128083253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
