This could be because of the high unemployment rate that the rural households are experiencing at a provincial level. As many of the rural households’ members went as far as obtaining tertiary education, most individuals still find it difficult to secure jobs and this results to many rural households depending on social grants for a living. In addition, social grant money alone does not become enough to meet their entire families’ food needs. The study was conducted at Mopani district municipality. Multistage sampling procedure was used, and the villages were selected based on probability proportionate to size. Thus, making the total of 173 rural households. The objectives of the study were to profile the socio-economic characteristics of rural households and to identify food security status of rural households and to determine factors that influence food security among rural households. To analyse the data, Household food insecurity access scale, descriptive statistics and Multinomial logistic regression model were used. The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the European Union has Rural Development as the “second pillar” with the objectives of enhancing the competitiveness of agriculture and forestry; ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and climate action; and overall development of rural economies. The materials for the paper are based on data connected with the resources of production factors in Polish agriculture as well as data on EU agricultural funds in Poland under RDP 2014-2020 made available by the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA). The analysis showed that the diversification of the agricultural production potential of the different regions in Poland had an influence on the activity of farmers in applying for RDP measures. Despite the key role of this type of credit in enhancing the welfare of rural household welfare, little is known on determinants of rural farm household participation in the credit programs. Therefore, this study sought to identify factors influencing farmers’ participation in the semi-formal credit program in Kakamega county. The study used a multi-stage sampling approach to gather data from 179 respondents. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics and a probit model. The results indicated that the semi-formal credit accessed by rural farm households was allocated to both on-farm and off-farm enterprises. Also, factors that significantly influenced household participation in the semi-formal credit included farming experience, occupation of household head, group membership, distance to credit source, distance to the nearest market, and access to financial training. Based on the study results, policymakers and other stakeholders should offer financial training, thus enhancing farmers’ productivity and promoting their participation in semi-formal credit programs. However, conflicting land tenure is affecting agribusiness development in sub-Sahara Africa. A key question is whether Côte d’Ivoire, the world’s leading producer of cocoa, has been spared from the rampant land tenure challenging commercial farming. This paper is a reflection on the consequences of legal pluralism on the development of agribusiness. Through a case study of a region of south-eastern Cote d’Ivoire, it intends to demonstrate that coexistence of neo-customary and bureaucratic forms of land tenure constitutes a major obstacle for agribusiness development. Qualitative methods including individual interviews and focus group discussions were employed. Results reveal that land tenure systems are intricately linked to the complexity of agribusiness development. The study further finds land tenure systems is a source of conflicts between agribusiness developers and smallholders. Hence, agribusiness finds it difficult to grow due to land tenure systems, which cause immense hardship for agribusinesses developers in the South Comoé. This leads to rural households not having stable jobs and this affects their income, and it results to rural household not been able to acquire nutritious food as level of income is one of the major factors that influence households’ dietary diversity and dietary quality. The purpose of this study was to measure household food consumption pattern using Household Dietary Diversity Score (HDDS), with food groups over a recall period of seven days in rural household of Mopani District Municipality. The study estimated the determinants of rural household dietary diversity. The sample size of the study was 173 rural households, the sample size was determine using multi-stage sampling procedure and proportional random sampling as its sampling to select the rural households in Mopani district municipality. The descriptive statistics results indicated that majority of rural households have a high dietary diversity status and the average HDDS of food consumption was 80.75%. The study was conducted at the Makhado Local Municipality of Vhembe District, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The study sampled 150 households owning cattle from five villages within the municipality. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire that was administered face-to-face to the respondents. For empirical reasons, the study used two analytical techniques, namely; Household Comecialisation Index and Multinomial Logistic Regression Model. Empirical results reveal that eight variables were significant in affecting the level of commercialization among households owning cattle. These variables are the marital status of household head, the age of the household head, source of income, the occupation of household, access to market information, distance to the nearest market, membership to farmer organization, and land size. The Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier production and cost functions were employed in the analyses. The resulting efficiency estimates for beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries were compared using the t-test. \u0000Major findings: Efficiency analyses indicate that the quantities of Seed, fertilizer and agrochemicals used were the drivers of technical efficiency among both categories of farmers, while costs of land, fertilizer and family labour were the drivers of allocative efficiency. Technical efficiency estimates for both categories of farmers were 0.79 and 0.71 respectively and respective allocative efficiency estimates were 1.22 and 1.44. Mean comparison of the technical efficiency levels indicated a t-estimate of 2.52 (α= 0.0124) in favour of the beneficiaries while a t-estimate of -24.56 (α= 0.000) indicated that beneficiaries were also more allocatively efficient. \u0000Conclusion: The beneficiaries, by acquiring skills and supports from Fadama III, became were more efficient than their non-benefiting counterparts. Therefore, this study aims to determine the household’s awareness and willingness to pay for ginger. A simple random sampling procedure was used to select 53 respondents, and primary data were collected through an online questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and a binary logistic regression model were used for data analyses. Descriptive statistics revealed that the average age of the respondents was 39 years. Also, most respondents (77.4%) indicated they were aware of the health benefits of ginger, and approximately 45.3% indicated that they purchase ginger on a monthly basis. Lastly, most respondents (73.6%) were willing to pay for ginger. Regression estimates showed that gender, cost of ginger and frequency of ginger purchasing influenced rural households’ willingness to pay for ginger. Since gender was found to be a significant variable, the study, therefore, recommends that women should be encouraged to purchase functional foods when buying groceries for their households.
