However, in some cases, we need to solve this problem in the absence of reliable and adequate historical data. To develop an accurate prediction model of lighting energy consumption, Therefore by predicting the electricity consumption with various parameters based on usage on different climate conditions. The previous papers produce the prediction of electricity consumption by using different models and different data sets. This paper presents the approach using the Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), it considers the previous data and predict future consumption based on weather parameters. The assessment of this model is from weather data and the electricity consumption data available on the internet, the outcome shows that model is effective.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"152 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122650754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While studies of search have established the importance of search breadth and argued that problems trigger search, this research has focused on a single problem source driving search. We consider, instead, how search breadth differs in the presence of proximate and remote problem sources. Because of differences in how familiar firms are with each type of problem, and in expectations of their ability to influence the problem source, problems triggered by remote sources associate with greater breadth. Firms’ technological capabilities, meanwhile, temper these findings; capable firms exhibit broader search when facing problems raised by proximate sources. Using data describing the U.S. renewable electricity sector, we generate theoretical, empirical, and public policy implications.

Managerial Summary: When facing new problems, firms tend to seek knowledge from various sources to better understand the problem and identify solutions. We consider whether and how the breadth of their search differs in conjunction with the problem source by comparing proximate and remote problem sources. Specifically, we compare how U.S. utilities firms facing regulations emphasizing increased renewable generation, from the federal government as compared to the state government, seek knowledge about renewable technologies. We find that firms tend to search more broadly following federal regulatory changes. However, firms that have previously generated renewable electricity, search more broadly following state regulatory changes. By exploring firms’ actions in the U.S. renewable electricity sector from 2000 to 2010, our research generates important managerial and public policy implications.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132560664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It employs the MSE-equivalent QPS together with the DM test and allows for further insights about deficiencies of the considered models. Additionally, techniques from the field of classification are considered, which extend our framework and are particularly suited for the evaluation of predictions of rare events. We consider binary events with direct applicability to a generators daily decision making such as profitability of a pumped-hydro storage plant and evaluate the respective forecasts statistically. We show that the task of forecast evaluation can be simplified from assessing a multivariate distribution over prices to assessing a univariate distribution over a binary outcome, fully characterized by a single probability.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130577786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper provides a comprehensive reference of the ANEM model for the other project publications that use the ANEM model to analysis the sensitivity of four factors to increasing wind power penetration. The four factors include (1) transmission line congestion, (2) wholesale spot prices, (3) carbon dioxide emissions and (4) energy dispatch. The sensitivity of the four factors to wind power penetration is considered in conjunction with sensitivity to weather conditions, electricity demand growth and a major augmentation of the transmission grid of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) called NEMLink (AEMO 2010a, 2010b, 2011a, 2011b).The sensitivity analyses use 5 levels of wind power penetration from zero wind power penetration to enough wind power to meet the original 2020 41TWh Large-scale Renewable Energy Target. The sensitivity to weather is developed by using half hourly electricity demand profiles by node from three calendar years 2010, 2011 and 2012. The sensitivity to growth is developed by incrementing the nodal demand profiles over the projection years 2014 to 2025.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122024521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Drawing on data originating from the German Residential Energy Survey (GRECS), this paper estimates the contribution of individual appliances to household electricity demand using the conditional demand approach, which relies on readily obtainable information on appliance ownership. Moving beyond the standard focus of mean regression, we employ a quantile regression approach to capture the heterogeneity in the contribution of each appliance according to the conditional distribution of household electricity consumption. This heterogeneity indicates that there are quite large technical potentials for efficiency improvements and electricity conservation in private households. We also find substantial differences in the end-use shares across households originating from the opposite tails of the electricity consumption distribution, highlighting the added value of applying quantile regression methods in estimating consumption rates of electric appliances.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133768792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To the best of the authors' knowledge, most of the studies in this field have applied the error correction models, auto regressive distributed lag and panel data based on fixed-effect model in which coefficients obtained by these models cannot be deemed as a general finding applicable for other countries. The superiority of our article is in applying full modified ordinary least square estimation method for heterogeneous panels; our study also has stable and consistent coefficients and is also a dynamic model. Moreover, with regard to previous studies, our paper includes more countries which increase the reliability of the results. The results indicate that a long-run relationship exists between real gross domestic product (GDP), electricity consumption and trade activities that involve export and import (control variable). The short-run results also indicate the importance of electricity consumption to economic growth and vice versa, supporting the feedback hypothesis which asserts that energy policies oriented towards improvements in electricity consumption efficiency would not adversely affect real GDP. It also apears that policies for energy efficiency have no statistically significant impact on economic growth in long run.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125278420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But congestion management becomes a serious issue not only in the German but in the whole European electricity system as German wind production does not only affect the German grid. In theory it is well established that nodal pricing is the most efficient congestion management method. In literature the PJM well-established nodal market design often serves as a reference and is viewed as benchmark. To benefit from experiences made in the U.S. the transfer of the PJM market design to Germany could be advantageous. This article compares key elements of the generation mix, the network structure, the cross-border interconnection as well as the congestion situation of both electricity markets to assess potentials and impediments for an implementation of the PJM nodal market design in Germany. We show that both markets are less different in structure than expected but that large differences in performance respectively in congestion frequency lead probably to much lower welfare gains. Transfer of the PJM market design to Germany is possible in principle, but adjustments to RES would be ad-vantageous.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132431021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is interesting to investigate how households’ consumption in Slovenia has reacted in response to new opportunities in selection of suppliers and what are the Slovenian households’ consumers perceptions in electricity consumption and in using more energy savings approaches in consumption of electrical energy. In 2010, we have conducted surveys with the sample of the Slovenian households’ electricity consumers. The questions relate to the households perceptions on estimation of competition in households’ electricity markets and on perceptions to implement in a household practice more efficient electrically energy savings strategies. The collected survey data are processed by use of summary statistics and multivariate factor analysis. We have found the increasing awareness and perceptions of the Slovenian households towards better quality of electricity supply with advices in savings strategies of electricity consumption, but still a bit less towards more electrical energy consumption from the renewable sources of electrical energy. This implies that additional promotional and educational activities are needed to comply with the objectives to encourage a greater market competition as well as to improve households’ efficiency in energy use and to increase the use of electrical energy from the renewable sources of energy.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122076489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also considering the downfall of conventional energy resources due to scarcity and escalating energy demands, the necessity to switch to reliable and economically feasible sources of green energy has gained significance over the years. Aerobic decomposition of organic waste in contrast to the conventional anaerobic methods is adopted to generate electricity alongside the proper disposal of organic waste. Connecting a number of such cells with organic waste as electrolyte can result in sufficient voltage generation which can be used for powering low-wattage devices and this potentially reduces the use of chemical electrolyte batteries.","PeriodicalId":300392,"journal":{"name":"ChemRN: Electricity (Topic)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128269928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
