Para ello, se abordarán las dos principales condiciones que han propiciado este fenómeno: en primer lugar, la espectacularización de la violencia en la ficción popular, que va desde la narrativa romántica postgótica hasta las películas gore actuales, haciendo hincapié en el cine de explotación y la consecuente mitificación (y posterior desmitificación) del snuff. En segundo lugar, una creciente fascinación por el asesino en serie, que eleva su estatus al de celebrity y permite filiaciones identitarias por parte de los espectadores y consumidores, lo cual conduce a cierta ficcionalización del criminal. Estos aspectos recalcarán el funcionamiento de la cultura pop del crimen, que se apoya en esta movilidad cultural entre realidad y ficción para generar una sensibilidad cultural del asesinato que ha sido renovada en las sociedades contemporáneas. No solo el desarrollo de los canales de producción y difusión de imágenes, sino otros factores modernos como la consecuente normalización de la violencia en los sistemas neoliberales y heteropatriarcales tendrán un impacto decisivo en la cultura popular y los hábitos de consumo. Un repaso final por algunas tendencias subculturales como la murderabilia o el necroporno servirá para escenificar la permeabilidad de algunos artefactos culturales que reflejan y contribuyen a esta violencia sistémica.","PeriodicalId":300283,"journal":{"name":"CRATER, Arte e Historia","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114389607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However surviving pieces often lack a detailed collection history, as they have been brought to Europe over a period of five hundred years by various kinds of visitors with different goals and sets of mind. The first section reviews the early reports and descriptions mentioning those pieces, whether in situ (e.g. chronicles of Columbus voyages or later travelers), or in European collections. We present in the second part a nonexhaustive selection of eleven types of clubs from Amazonia that belong to European (mostly public) collections, and we try to connect these types to the abovementioned historical sources. The aim of this paper is to show the diversity of shapes and also the historical depth of the club tradition in Amazonia.","PeriodicalId":300283,"journal":{"name":"CRATER, Arte e Historia","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129518778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The exiled were forced to cross the Atlantic in the direction of Brazil, Africa and Asia, where they fulfilled the punishment. The constant sending of large human contingents to colonial territories demonstrates the interests that the Crown had in removing the criminals from the metropolis. However, it can be an indicator of other objectives, such as the population and effective possession of the places where they were destined. This reality caused variations in the fate of the exiles according to the times and the needs that the Crown had in different periods. Thus, several authors agree that the sending of exiles to the colonies was aimed at occupation, defence, settlement and contribution to miscegenation in these territories. Through this research work, we seek to carry out a comparative study where we highlight the differences between the sending of exiles to the South American and African colonial territories. We also seek to get to know these individuals seeking to know their social status, profession, crime, age, marital status, place of birth, destination of exile and time of sentence. It was also our intention to analyze how the process of sending these individuals overseas was carried out, the time between the condemnation and their departure, how they were shipped, who was in charge of taking them to their destination and who guaranteed their survival during the trip.","PeriodicalId":300283,"journal":{"name":"CRATER, Arte e Historia","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123459282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

El campo de la fotografía aportó un amplio abanico de imágenes capaces de conmocionar, e incluso de alterar conductas, canalizando el sufrimiento del enfermo desde un lugar privilegiado. El retrato fotográfico se reiteró en el terreno artístico y los trabajos realizados se convirtieron en auténticos documentos sociales de una época. La necesidad de ponerle rostro al virus, y de luchar contra el estigma, propició el desarrollo de una temática fotográfica que agitó conciencias. Los profesionales, lejos del sensacionalismo, captaron la pandemia de múltiples maneras desde una óptica realista, poética en algunos casos, pero siempre con un protagonista absoluto como era el desahuciado, el cual se dejó fotografiar sin ningún tabú.","PeriodicalId":300283,"journal":{"name":"CRATER, Arte e Historia","volume":"34 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116501540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most Muntadas’ projects are site-specific and, therefore, focus on spaces like the city, public and private spaces or digital spaces. This article concentrates on those projects by Antoni Muntadas which show asymmetries of power in different spaces and moves on to focus on a concrete space, the border, in two projects: On Translation: Miedo/Fear, on the border between the United States and Mexico, and On Translation: Miedo/Jauf on the border between Spain and Morocco. These projects analyse how some people and others, those who are most vulnerable and those who are afraid of strangers, feel fear, depending on what side of the border they are on.","PeriodicalId":300283,"journal":{"name":"CRATER, Arte e Historia","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134360218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

El autor, con un lenguaje simbólico muy propio del Barroco, recurre para su composición a santos protectores –san José y un obispo mártir-, deidades mitológicas –Mercurio y Neptuno-, figuras alegóricas –España y América- y vistas de calles e hitos arquitectónicos sevillanos junto a lemas inspirados en las Sagradas Escrituras y en fuentes clásicas para transmitir un mensaje de prosperidad auspiciado por la nueva compañía. Esta estampa, de la que se conservan diversos ejemplares con leves diferencias debidas al retallado de la matriz deteriorada por el uso, pudo servir de inspiración a otras “Acciones”, como la de la Compañía Marítima de Málaga que grabó Francisco de la Torre en 1789.","PeriodicalId":300283,"journal":{"name":"CRATER, Arte e Historia","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124438928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
