This paper presents an integrated model to predict the traffic flow of base station. Firstly, we predict the traffic flow with basic Echo State Network (ESN) and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA). Algorithms show poor prediction performance due to the existence of mutation values. Therefore, we add wavelet transform into our model to decompose traffic flow, which could make traffic signal smooth and easy to predict. Besides, through the wavelet decomposition and single reconstruction of the original traffic flow data, we obtain data sequences with a better regularity. Then we can get the final predicted traffic flow data with a linear sum of the single prediction. Experimental result shows that the integrated model can achieve a better prediction accuracy by comparing to ESN and ARIMA. The integrated model can decrease the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) by 6% and reduce the Normalized Root Mean Square Error (NRMSE) to some extent.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"2016 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114446923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For massive MIMO, quantities of antennas are utilized to provide better coverage, which brings challenge for implementation as well as opportunity for improving multi-user (MU)-MIMO performance. To provide better performance for MU-MIMO, high resolution CSI feedback was introduced in Rel.14. Base stations can acquire more accurate channel information from high resolution CSI to facilitate scheduling for multiple users with reduced inter-user interference. However, high resolution CSI feedback specified in current 3GPP still has large room to be improved due to big gap between current CSI feedback and ideal CSI feedback. In this paper, we investigate possible enhancement directions towards high resolution CSI, e.g., to improve the quantization resolution by combining more beams, to increase the supported rank, etc. High resolution codebook construction and higher rank multi-user scheduling schemes are provided. System evaluation is performed to verify the effectiveness of those schemes. Simulation results show that improving quantization resolution can bring decent performance gain, and supporting higher ranks can bring larger performance gain. Both schemes will introduce large overhead. To balance performance and overhead, supporting higher rank high resolution is preferred. The challenges to specify these schemes are also analyzed.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121392391","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a novel antenna pattern, named multi-level flat-top (MLFT) antenna pattern, to approximate the actual antenna pattern, and apply it to millimeter wave (mm-wave) cellular networks. To study the benefits of directional antenna arrays in depth, we derive the exact expression for the coverage probability of the typical user and its upper bound as well as their corresponding asymptotic expressions. The results show that the proposed antenna pattern provides a better tradeoff between the accuracy and the tractability in terms of both antenna pattern and theoretical analysis than previous models. In addition, the coverage probabilities for different antenna sizes can be asymptotically characterized by a horizontal shift (in dB) with each other for identical Nakagami fading parameter.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123452584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, we first derive the energy-information coverage probability and secrecy probability in the considered system under time switching policies. Then the effective secrecy throughput (EST) which can characterize the trade-off between the energy coverage, secure and reliable transmission performance is derived. Theoretical analyses and simulation results reveal the design insights into the effects of various network parameters like, transmit power, time switching factor, transmission rate, confidential information rate, etc, on the secrecy performance. Specifically, it is impossible to realize the effective secrecy throughput improvement just by increasing the transmit power.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"21 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123559970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The hardware of the tester can be treated as an integrated radio frequency (RF) transmission system with an embedded additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) module. The FPGA-based RF system can generate at most 10 independent channels (ICs) with multiple rolling factors. Multiple symbol rates from 2 Ksps to 34 Msps can be supported with an appropriate multistage up-sampling processing. Furthermore, at most 640 sub-channels can be generated with the help of poly-phase filter banks and a well-designed FPGA realization of quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modem. The precomputation and test results show that a high dynamic range of transmitting and receiving signal levels can be supported. In addition, the expected transmission loss at one specific BER can be easily observed and acquired with the help of an integrated automated monitoring software developed by Qt development tool.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"217 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122681276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The L1-LC-LMS algorithm imposes the L1-norm restriction on the weights vector. By applying the L1-norm constraint, the weights vector convergence rate has been significantly improved. Furthermore, compared to traditional LC-LMS algorithm, the nulling depth of the L1-LC-LMS is greatly enhanced. The simulation is carried out in the arrays system with noise and other interferences. We have confirmed the effectiveness of the L1-LC-LMS algorithm from theoretical analysis and the experimental results.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125347322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Small cell networks (SCNs) are envisioned to embrace the FD transmission technology in order to increase the spectral efficiency of wireless systems. In this paper, for the first time, we consider FD communications in a realistic small cell networks (SCN) scenario, where base stations (BSs) can select FD or half-duplex (HD) mode according to the real-time downlink (DL)/ uplink (UL) traffic. We present analytical results on the probabilities of BS mode selection, which match the simulation results well.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126013464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this method, the original non-convex estimator based on the least squares (LS) criterion is transformed into a semi-definite programming (SDP) problem by applying efficient convex relaxation techniques. Furthermore, an efficient implementation algorithm is proposed through a standard interior-point method for solving the convex optimization problem. The corresponding Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) is also derived to verify the performance of the proposed method. Simulation results confirm the efficiency of the proposed SDP estimator in solving the localization problem and its advantage over the state-of-the-art approach.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121524769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
