As the number of antennas increases, pilot contamination (PC) is considered as one of the main limiting factors for the performance of massive MIMO systems. In this paper, a new dynamic pilot allocation scheme is proposed to mitigate the pilot contamination with low complexity. In this scheme, a pilot reuse indicator is introduced and each cell is divided into center zone and edge zone. When the pilots are allocated, the pilots for edge zone users are dynamically selected according to the pilot reuse indicator. So the scheme can mitigate the pilot contamination by reducing pilot repetition in the target cell and neighbor cells, improve the system capacity. Our simulation results show that the proposed scheme can significantly increase the uplink achievable rate and provide better stability in the scenario with nonuniform distributed users, especially with more users and less pilots.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124336802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a delay ternary PUF (DT-PUF) circuit scheme based on Carbon Nanotube Field Effect Transistor (CNFET) is proposed. In this scheme, the two inputs and two outputs (2I2O) multi-value delay circuit and the multi-valued arbiter circuit is designed by the threshold controllable CNFET. Then, the ternary signals logic 0, logic 1 and logic 2 transmission delay path is realized by cascading multi-bit 2I2O multi-value delay circuits. Secondly, the delay deviation of the two identical transmission paths is set as the random source. With the help of ternary arbiter, the random delay competes to produce the unclonable ternary PUF output data. Finally, the proposed DT-PUF circuit is designed under 32nm CNFET standard model library, and the circuit is simulated and analyzed by HSPICE. Experiment results show that DT-PUF circuit has the correct logic function, and the distribution is 30.3%@logic 0, 36%@logic 1, 33.7%@logic 2, near ideal about 33.3%.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116363074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of the unbalanced energy consumption among the nodes and the obstacles in the sensing space, the holes of the network topology have been one of the main obstacles in the application of the 3D WSNs. The data collection, especially for the data converged at the nodes nearby the holes, depends on the data relaying by the nodes on the boundary of the hole space, which may result in the exhaustive energy consumption of the involved nodes, quickly draining their limited energy and enlarge the hole space further. In this paper, we adopt a 3D clustering approach and propose a Precision-Adjustable Shape Retrieval (PASR) scheme for hole detection in 3D WSNs. In order to provide a fast and efficient hole detection for the network topology, a hierarchical clustering approach is designed by using the adjustable cluster size to conduct data collection for hole detection. Through extensive simulations, our scheme is demonstrated to be able to serve accurate shape retrieval and achieve good balance between the detection precision and the energy consumption.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130629805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, GPS consumes considerably high power and excessively drains battery life while tracking locations. Wi-Fi positioning system (WPS) also suffers from the battery drain issues related to prohibitively enormous Wi-Fi scans and network connections while computing locations at a remote server. We point out that a wireless positioning based on cellular networks can provide a reasonable accuracy depending on cell density and in the meantime, impose negligible power consumption. However, the cellular networks were not designed for a positioning purpose. In this paper, we propose a downloadable radiomap database and a Device-Centric Positioning (DCP) based on the radiomap database stored at the mobile terminal’s memory. The DCP is desirable for tracking locations and working at the mobile device in a background manner. The proposed methodology was implemented in the mobile device and evaluated through field tests.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"141 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132502906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose a learning embedded hypergraph construction algorithm to jointly predict the heterogeneous users’ QoS requirements and deploy the SBSs to cover as many users as possible. Specifically, we predict and leverage users’ QoS requirements with a real-world dataset, China Family Panel Studies (CFPS), and design a human behavior based learning framework (HBLF) to anticipate users’ QoS requirements with users’ profiles. Then, based on HBLF, we propose a hypergraph construction algorithm to deploy the SBSs. Simulation results indicate that the learning embedded hypergraph construction can use the least number of SBSs to cover all users compared with a number of algorithms, such as K-means. The HBLF can achieve a higher coverage ratio of users compared with other learning algorithms, such as decision tree. Simulation results also corroborate that the more accurately we can predict the users’ QoS requirements, the more users we can satisfy their QoS requirements.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125344874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inter-symbol interference(ISI) in wireless communications is serious due to the effects of multipath propagation and background noise. In order to reduce inter-symbol interference, many wireless air interface and radio access technologies adopt cyclic prefixes to obtain channel estimation. However, the spectrum utilization of this method is too low. Considering the blind equalization algorithm is often used in the environment where spectrum resources are scarce, in this paper we adop the blind equalization algorithm in the SCMA technology. In SCMA, the equalization cannot placed on receiver, so we innovatively put the equalization algorithm in the signal transmitter according to the actual situation. In addition, we propose a channel estimation algorithm. Theory and simulation show that applying blind equalization to SCMA can reduce bit error rate and improve spectrum utilization.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"11 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120997458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Focusing on those scenarios, we propose and prove their severe impacts on the performance of a vehicular network. We first conduct a transmission experiment. The results prove that the existence of those scenarios induces the inter-layer communication, and then significantly reduces the transmission range. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the variation of the transmission range makes an enormous difference in the neighbor number, which severely affects the network performance. At last, our extensive simulations show that the aforementioned analysis are in fact quite accurate.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127009122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we develop an extension to OSPF to support QoS guarantees by replacing the cost metric with end-to-end (E2E) delay. However, the huge path loss and high blockage probability result in vulnerability during transmission. The performance of propagation is severely influenced by blocked odds according to the reflections off smooth surfaces. In this paper, we propose a random blockage model to characterize the reflections off the walls and ceiling. To adjust the variant transmission which is suffering different reflections, we first propose a combinational temperature random algorithm (CTRA) to arrange resource blocks with plausible availability. The CTAR includes two phases: partition and matching, which highly enhance the average throughput. The main conclusions are that the modified algorithm brings about higher system throughput with appropriate temperature factors and performances much better.","PeriodicalId":299723,"journal":{"name":"2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131908333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
