The wool of the Grozny breed of sheep diff ers in surface quality and chemical composition from fl ax fi ber. Qualitative diff erences are manifested in the diff erent elemental composition of fi bers, both in metals: Na, K, Ca, Mg, Al, Fe, and in non-metals: C, O, S, Si, Cl, P. In fl ax fi ber, the cellulose content is 76-79% calculated by spectrum and chemical analysis on absolutely dry matter. For wool fi ber and suitability for the textile industry, data on fat and protein content are important. The results on the content of chemical elements also indicate the possibility of uniquely distinguishing diff erent types of fi bers. Signifi cant diff erences in concentrations are observed for oxygen, sulfur, silicon, potassium, chlorine, iron, calcium, and phosphorus. Wool is characterized by a high concentration of sulfur compared to fl ax fi ber, and a minimum concentration of phosphorus. The presence of iron is not noted in the fl ax fi ber","PeriodicalId":299405,"journal":{"name":"Sheep, goats, wool business","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115116416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Characteristic features of sheep of the factory line of ram 4254 are white wool, a somewhat drooping tail, dark, sometimes red, ears, dark coloring of the covering hair of the front part of the head. Live weight on average: rams - 90 kg, queens - 60 kg, wool shearing - 4.0 kg and 2.6 kg, respectively. The ram line 34194 is a good combination of meat and fat qualities with the level and quality of semi-coarse wool due to the long length of the awn and down. Live weight on average: rams - 95 kg, queens - 63 kg, sheared wool - 4.2 kg and 2.7 kg, respectively. The line of the ram 37147 is the most multi-haired, thick wool, well balanced in length and tone in the braid and in the fl eece. Live weight on average: rams - 92 kg, queens - 60 kg, wool shearing - 4.4 kg and 2.8 kg, respectively.","PeriodicalId":299405,"journal":{"name":"Sheep, goats, wool business","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130732738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
