Synchronous and asynchronous solutions vary, mainly, in terms of signaling overhead regarding synchronization information. On the one hand, Contention Resolution Diversity Slotted Aloha (CRDSA) has emerged as a leader technique for synchronous transmissions with multiple replicas per packet and Successive Interference Cancellation at reception. On the other hand, Asynchronous Contention Resolution Diversity ALOHA (ACRDA) has been proposed as an equivalent asynchronous method to CRDSA. CRDSA and ACRDA incur a deadlock when no more packets can be retrieved due to high channel loads. Therefore, a complementary method to CRDSA: MultireplicA decoding using corRelation baSed locAlisation (MARSALA) proposed to combine replicas belonging to the same undecoded packet after localizing them through correlations. This allows to unlock some of the deadlock configurations which would relaunch CRDSA again. In asynchronous transmissions, Enhanced Contention Resolution Aloha (ECRA) uses different combining techniques for packets replicas to offer high system performance in terms of Packet Loss Ratio (PLR) and throughput. The former and latter techniques MARSALA and ECRA can be costly in 10-calization complexity to the receiver. Therefore, Shared Position Technique for Interfered Random Transmissions (R-SPOTiT) defines a way to reduce the complexity of MARSALA’s packets localization without degrading performance nor adding extra signaling information. Accordingly, this paper proposes ARSPOTiT, an asynchronous design of R-SPOTiT, as a complementary method to ACRDA that introduces a way to locate replicas on their virtual frames with less complexity and significantly higher system performance compared to ACRDA.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132441304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The D2D users communicate to each other within closed proximity with the partial involvement of base station (BS). The D2D users reuse CU user’s resource block for their communication so that interference is generated at the CU user and D2D user side which reduces the network throughput. To minimize interference, a proper resource allocation scheme is required. Therefore, in this paper, a resource allocation scheme is proposed for 5G network. The proposed scheme is based on graph-based and modified sine-cosine algorithm. The resource allocation problem is a non-convex optimization problem; therefore, the constraints are relaxed and modified in convex optimization. The proposed scheme is comprises of two steps. In first step, we have design an interference matrix. This matrix contains the interference information of each user. In second step, the modified sine-cosine optimization technique is applied over interference matrix. The proposed scheme is compared with random, graph-based and optimization-based scheme (particle swarm optimization) and it is observed that proposed scheme gives better result.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133166335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Particle filtering has been implemented intensively for the purpose of frequency estimation and the results were found to be excellent for many cases, under different time-frequency representation of the signal and different particle filter implementations. This work presents an enhancement of frequency estimation by using a particle smoother (backward particle filter) to enhance the frequency estimates as compared to the forward particle filter (PF). Calculated from the short-time Fourier transforms (STFTs), the signal was analyzed in the frequency domain, acting as a measurement model of the PF framework. Simulation results exhibit the advantage of the particle smoother over the forward PF. Demonstrated via the frequency estimates from both filters, particle smoother delivers better tracking results than the forward PF under low noise levels.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114211059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) which are severe diseases for Thai have higher mortality than cancers, and elderly people have a higher possibility to predispose CVDs. Hence, the risk factors for CVDs should be addressed. Obesity, as one of the risk factors of CVDs, seriously affects Thai elders’ wellbeing; excessive sugar consumption is a way leading to overweight and obesity. The amount of consumed sugar by Thai is much higher than the standard sugar consumption, and it also could cause many other diseases. Therefore, this paper proposes a classification method for the elderly group who have the potential to control their blood sugar in order to prevent them from sugar overconsumption. This paper explored machine learning algorithms to find an appropriate classification method for elderly data. Artificial neuron network and K-nearest neighbors are applied for classifying elderly groups. Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) are the noninvasive measurements of evaluating blood sugar, based on the two measurements, the 242 data from 121 elderly people are divided into two groups which are controllable group and uncontrollable group. The result indicates that the artificial neuron network is more suitable for the dataset with 70.59% accuracy as compared to the accuracy of K-nearest neighbors.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114342926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, not all organisations succeed in their eCRM initiatives because of their firm’s inherent factors. This study proposes a framework of eCRM success determinants, using the hotel industry in Thailand as a case study. The four dimensions of eCRM are examined as antecedents of successful eCRM implementation. This research also evaluates the relationships among these eCRM dimensions, successful eCRM implementation and a hotel’s performance. To achieve the intended objectives, this study uses structural equation modelling (SEM) to analysis data; the results show the antecedents of eCRM constructs have a significant impact on eCRM success, which in turn positively influences hotel performance.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124723347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The signals are transmitted and evaluated over the hybrid channel consisting of 5 km of standard single-mode fiber (SMF), 2 m FSO under the turbulence level up to $3.2times 10^{-11}mathrm{m}^{-2/3}$ and 3.3 m25 GHz wireless channel. The performance shows that, the error vector magnitudes (EVM) are below the 3GPP standard for 4/16/64-QAM signals. We show that, the bit error rate (BER) for all signals is below the forward error correction limit of 10-3. We also perform simulation analysis at higher bit rates of 10 and 15 $mathrm{G}mathrm{b}/mathrm{s}$ for the hybrid link of SMF (5 km) and FSO (extended up to 500 m) under the turbulence level of 1$.3times 10^{-15}mathrm{m}^{-2/3}$ for the practical outdoor scenario. However, in practical communication scenarios, transceiver architectures inevitably suffer from radio frequency (RF) front-end related impairments that cause non-negligible performance degradation. This issue can be addressed by analog and digital signal processing algorithms, but factors such as time-varying hardware characteristics and imperfect compensation schemes result to detrimental residual distortions. In the present contribution we investigate the physical layer security of NOMA-based amplify-and-forward relay systems under such realistically incurred residual hardware impairment (RHI) effects. Exact and asymptotic analytic expressions for the corresponding outage probability (OP) and intercept probability (IP) of the considered set up over multipath fading channels are derived and corroborated by respective simulation results. Based on this, it is shown that RHI affects both the legitimate users and eavesdroppers by increasing the OP and decreasing the IP. For a fixed OP, RHI generally increases the corresponding IP, thereby reducing the secure performance of the system. Further interesting insights are also provided, verifying the importance of the offered results for the effective design and deployment of secure cooperative communication systems.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117200838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

GaBP requires soft values on reliability information for coded bits when the channel decoder is concatenated and iteratively decoded with GaBP. However, it is not so easy to generate the soft values of coded bits in general polar decoders. In this paper, we use soft successive cancellation list (SSCL) decoding for generating log-likelihood ratio (LLR) values of coded bits. In addition, we propose simpler methods to generate LLR values based on Log-domain SSCL decoding. The simulation results show that the SSCL decoding and its modified versions work well with GaBP and that the proposed method provides the same or better performance with less complex algorithm than that of SSCL decoding.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117169475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
