Because FBs can practically be found in all major organ systems of the human body and may occasionally intimidate normal activity and function, early and specific diagnosis can have a significant impact on treatment—that is where radiologists play a vital role helping the clinicians avoid unproductive diagnostic odysseys.","PeriodicalId":29694,"journal":{"name":"Contemporary Diagnostic Radiology","volume":"2012 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135353413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can present incidentally asymptomatically or as a manifestation of systemic or cardiac disease. According to its commitment, it can be classified into mild effusions, generally asymptomatic, up to cardiac tamponade, which can endanger the patient's life. Recent advances make it possible to establish the presence and assess the size of the pericardial effusion, its hemodynamic impact, and clarify the etiology. The aim of this article is to provide an update on the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to pericardial effusion.","PeriodicalId":29694,"journal":{"name":"Contemporary Diagnostic Radiology","volume":" ","pages":"1 - 8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46889076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Precision medicine has the specific goal to treat the disease while limiting the damages derived from treatments. For that reason, it is important for radiologists to understand treatment response to immunotherapy, as development and approval of immunotherapeutics is increasing steadily.
