Today, the SMART method in management is regarded as the norm for establishing effective, measurable goals and objectives. Although developed within management, the SMART method is widely referenced in the literature on program planning and evaluation. In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's program planning/evaluation guides recommend using SMART criteria when developing program goals and objectives. (1). The use of the SMART method in the evaluation and non-profit organization guidance supports the claim that SMART is now a standard technique for establishing program objectives. The advantage of mainstreaming is that a greater number of programs, particularly those with limited resources, can apply evaluation fundamentals to monitor and improve their programs. Unfortunately, nothing is known about how to eliminate these last-resort methods. Research on patient safety in mental health has lagged in the adoption of a system perspective and approach. However, recognizing that no single factor or group of factors accounts for a patient safety incident, in light of the paucity of data, we describe factors, standards, and procedures that may contribute to adverse events in mental health. Methods: PubMed and Psych info were searched to locate studies that specifically evaluated efforts to reduce seclusion and restraint in psychiatric units. Key search terms included seclusion, restraint, reduce, psychiatric patient safety, psychiatric safety, psychiatric sanctuary, and quality of care psychiatry. Based on this search, little is known about how to reduce such measures of last resort and improve the safety of psychiatric settings. The review of the available literature found a few descriptions of administrative efforts to reduce seclusion and restraint at specific psychiatric hospitals or units that were followed by limited objective documentation of fewer episodes of seclusion or restraint. Conclusions: Hopefully, this discussion will stimulate research on this understudied topic and provide a framework for improving patient safety in the psychiatric setting.","PeriodicalId":294863,"journal":{"name":"NILES journal for Geriatric and Gerontology","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121112119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the relation between the CHA2DS2VASc score and CAD in patients with NVAF is not studied well. The objective of this study is to evaluate the correlation between the CHA2DS2VASc score and the coronary angiographic findings in NVAF patients. Methods: This is a prospective, randomized, single-center study that included all patients with NVAF that attended Sohag University Hospital Cath. Lab. for coronary angiography from the first of January 2018 till the end of December 2021. Demographic data, risk factors of coronary artery disease, different presentations, echocardiographic and coronary angiographic findings were analyzed and assessed. Results: More than half (56.2%) of patients with NVAF had CAD. The majority of NVAF patients with normal coronary angiography were in score 2. All 26 patients had single CAD >50%: stenosis with 4 in score 0, 8 in score 1, 7 in score 2, 5 in score 3 and 2 in score 4. One patient had 2VD and was in score 2. 10 patients had 3VD: 2 in score 0, 5 in score 1, 2 in score 2, and 1 in score 3 . Conclusion: More than half (56.2%) of the patients with NVAF had CAD based on coronary angiography. Single vessel CAD >50% was the most frequent lesion observed, meanwhile there was no correlation between the severity of the disease and CHA2DS2VASC score in NVAF patients.","PeriodicalId":294863,"journal":{"name":"NILES journal for Geriatric and Gerontology","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127716124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
