The ROC curve is evaluated for a trend change in the signal that contains additive Gaussian noise. The resulting ROC curve of the Extreme Seeking Entropy algorithm is compared with other adaptive novelty detection methods, namely Learning Entropy and Error and Learning Based Novelty Detection as those algorithms are also evaluating the adaptive weights increments. The ROC curves are evaluated for multiple noise variances and area under those ROC curves is estimated.","PeriodicalId":294648,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Applied Electronics (AE)","volume":"2674 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123300721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aging decreases the efficiency of the PMTs. This means PMTs need to the recalibration after some time. Because CERN′s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) runs for few years, the diagnostics of the PMTs is necessary. Eventual recalibration without removing the PMT is possible to accomplish by integrating the light source nearby PMT′s chassis. The light source should by as precise as possible. The used LED source needs a driver. The driver consists of controllable power source and timing controller. The perfect timing of the pulses is controlled by FPGA. An attention to the radiation hardened parts was needed because of the device proximity to the radiation source. The development and testing of the PMT diagnostic device (PDD) are described in this paper.","PeriodicalId":294648,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Applied Electronics (AE)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129003785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The soft-switching operation is achieved with the aid of simple resonant cell, which comprises of an inductor, a capacitor and a diode. In addition to the auxiliary cell, a voltage multiplier cell also included in order to ensure high voltage conversion ratio. The major advantages of the proposed converters are reduced turn on/turn off losses, high conversion ratio and very simple auxiliary circuitry. A resonant cell is incorporated in this converter which is used to turn on the main switching devices at zero current and turn them off at zero current. The zero current switching operation is achieved with a simple auxiliary cell. This paper describes the operation principles and the design simulations of proposed converters. The theoretical analysis of the proposed converters is validated by the simulation analysis on 12V/360V/1kW converter systems.","PeriodicalId":294648,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Applied Electronics (AE)","volume":"64 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131624389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main attention is paid to problematic of AC-traction substation. This topic is solved here due to the just started conversion from DC-traction system to AC-traction system in Czech Republic. The SSFR testing is a modern method used for testing and parameter identification for electrical machines especially for synchronous machines (high power generators for power stations). This paper shows the methods how to realize this SSFR testing device for machine identification by general purpose components (to achieve universal device not only for SSFR testing but also for purposes of more universal usage (i.e. measuring of non-linear power systems, power system fault identification, nonsymmetrical differences measurement, etc.). This modern method makes it possible to replace the Sudden Short-circuit Measurement Method and thus saves the mechanical construction and lifetime of the machine, which might be otherwise reduced due to the strong dynamic forces that occur in this type of measurement. Proposed devices were realized in university laboratories for purpose of getting acquainted with the practical properties of this method and also for didactic purposes (both in terms of the SSFR method itself and in term of realization of a real equipment with given properties).","PeriodicalId":294648,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Applied Electronics (AE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134408990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Simple and practical “Perturb and Observe” (P&O) algorithm is investigated and implemented. We describe the circuit functionality and the improvements that have been introduced to the original algorithm. The proposed MPPT design is divided into three main blocks. The output signal is being generated by the PWM or PFM block. The tracking speed has been enhanced by implementing a variable step size in the “Tracking Block”. Finally, the overall power consumption of the MPPT circuit itself is controlled by the “Power Management Block”, which manages delivering the clock signal to the rest of the circuit. The RTL code of the proposed MPPT has been created in Verilog, synthesized and placed-and-routed in a general purpose 130 nm CMOS technology.","PeriodicalId":294648,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Applied Electronics (AE)","volume":"236 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132214882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

HRV is calculated from heart rate (HR). HR is a nonstationary signal; its frequency variation may contain indicators of current disease, or warnings about impending cardiac diseases. Irregular variance of HRV can be considered as a predictor for sudden cardiac death or for cardiac transplant patient, etc. Measurements of HRV can be acquired by analyzing the changes of heart rate with power spectral analysis or obtained from model by using the nonlinear dynamics e.g. chaos theory. This paper deals on different approach for HRV measuring and their properties.
