The study mainly targets firms that produce blue jeans, cotton shirts and t-shirts. Indeed, this industrial sector in the city of Medellin is highly developed and one of the most dynamic, thus the interest to perform an evaluation in this area. To achieve the benchmarking, a questionnaire was designed and applied to the different firms that were visited. The most significant result obtained was that Lean Manufacturing techniques were not prevalent within the general public. The bank system traditionally has relied on adequate credit scoring models to analyze the risk of payment failures, but this has not been the case in supervised MFIs. The objective of this research is to design a credit scoring model for any institution subjected to supervision and specialized in microcredit as the Development Agency for Small and Micro Enterprise (Entidad de Desarrollo de la Pequeña y Micro Empresa - Edpyme) of the financial system in Peru. The results of this research includes a methodology and the steps needed to design the model, and the assessment and validation process that can be applied in the business area, in particular, to establish an interest rate policy with customers. F. In particular, this work illustrates, using a simple model, how stochastic simulation and Bayesian statistics can be combined to model and solve complex forecasting problems. The proposed framework is general enough to be applied to very detailed models of the system under study. Some consider this is a new area to apply methods and management tools developed in the business area. Researches in humanitarian logistics tend to favor a technical approach, particularly in operational management (transport optimization, location of regional centers, etc.). Although this view is still valid regarding improvement in using scarce logistics resources, this must be associated to organizational methods that seek the best way to coordinate within humanitarian supply chains. The present article assumes this position upon the concept of collective strategy and how it was applied to the earthquake disaster in Pisco, Peru (August 15, 2007). The humanitarian aid was distributed among several disaster aid committees, but above all to the Instituto Nacional de Defensa Civil (Indeci), the state organization that supervised the whole system. This fact turns Porter’s national diamond framework insufficient for that purpose (Moon, Rugman and Verbeke, 1998). This paper analyzes these economies from a global view that would include local as well as foreign markets; in other words, it applies the International Competitiveness Double Diamond approach proposed by Moon, Rugman & Verbeke (1998), and Moon & Lee (2004). Information from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Economic Forum, the Inter-American Development Bank and other sources was gathered to draw up the double diamond. The empirical analyses show that Chile is more competitive globally, while Peru is locally. It is with this philosophy that this document raises the importance of the corporate franchises system as a mean to optimize the performance of MSE. And how can we have evidence of such optimization? There can be many ways, but the concept that is becoming more important is how to make tangible the corporate work, which means how to make «touchable» the entrepreneurial spirit, the very critical resource for managing the MSE. {"title":"El Indice de la Ventaja Comparativa Revelada (VCR) entre el Perú y los principales exportadores del mundo: el caso de la Región Lambayeque","authors":"Jorge Heredia Pérez, Jorge Huarachi Chávez","doi":"10.46631/jefas.2009.v14n26.02","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46631/jefas.2009.v14n26.02","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents and applies a conceptual framework to regional Competitiveness using the Index of revealed competitiveness introduced by Balassa in 1965 for the Lambayeque Region in the northern part of Peru with the end to determine the products more competitive of this region. In the first part of the article the competitiveness review is presented from the Porter approach to Systemic Competitiveness. The advantage of this method is to identify the competitiveness of the regional products and services as a function of the import and export values of the country in contrast with the same values of the other countries in the world. The FAOSTAT data is used for that purpose. The results shown that the crop most competitive are the avocados, the bananas, mangoes, asparagus, dry chilies and coffee. Nevertheless when these products are compare with others countries such as Chile and Brazil only mangoes and asparagus are strongly competitive. Recently, efforts have been made to adapt to public sector organizations approaches and technologies originally developed for businesses, especially in countries such as Peru, seeking to influence governments’ ability to produce results. However, the concrete evidence of local government suggests that the implementation of management processes in this area reduces its chances of success because of the highly structured nature of management, the rigidity of the organizational design and the government regulation itself. This article argues that the performance improvement comes from reconciling the dimensions of the strategy and the structure. On this basis, there is a tool to assess organizational performance in terms of make flexible the functional structure and to adapt it towards logic of process management.
